i've almost done a full circle - i used to do the whole goth thing (snap arimeh's eden ) & had bright pink/red/purple hair or streaks. then i went ultra conservative in my mid-late 20's & just did subtle variations of my natural (boring) mid-brown hair. then i went blonde, then back to normal-ish colours. last time i got my hair coloured i felt the urge for something different so i got a chocolate brown with bright reddy-purple foils. i loved it & plan to get it done again.

i think my hair colour depends on how i'm feeling in general - since i've been a SAHM i've started to feel the need to be a bit 'different'

oh - not toooo many greys just yet (although def more since i had DS!) but i do prefer them to be coloured rather than there

Yep I have changed. Early-mid twenties I had either fully blonde or blonde streaks and lots of them. When i had the kids a block colour that didn't need redoing too often was my preferred choice (so near enough to my naturally mousy brown colour). Recently I redid the streaks and god I looked awful. Washed out and blah...
Now though I'm a bit more daring on the colour and since salons are prohibitively expensive here I've gotten quite good at doing my own...something I would never have dreamed of before.

OMG when I was young I would have committed murder to be a mid-brown! I HATED being blonde and all that came with it. you know the 'witty' blonde jokes

I am just avoiding it right now. Been 6 years since I last had my hair coloured, so I really would not know what colour to go for these days, plus I see some women my age and older who would just look better if they left their hair its natural colour.

I just tell people that I am cultivating my Goddess Stripes

Oh Astrid I would LOVE to not colour my hair! I HATE it. I would love to be all natural but my hair grows at a snails pace, so I just look multicoloured and weird :S

I used to get a full head of tips to keep the grey from showing to much but lately I have been getting only a half head done so the grey is showing and I will get less and less tips until they are no longer needed. I like tips better than foils as I don't like the block look and tips regrowth shows less and it is also cheaper.
