ROFL I am going to go nuts on my hair in a couple of weeks and I am ALREADY having nightmares (literally). I am not sure of your hairdresser, but I am planning on going in and just saying "do whatever you think suits me but make sure it will grow well coz I cannot afford the up keep"

Good luck, just remember they say a change is as good as a holiday and hair does grow back ... if you hate the colour, the supermarket sells colours too

Biggest advice you need to have is, when going to the hairdresser dress how you would want to look when looking your best. My gf said "you look like a mum you'll get a mum haircut" and it's so true. Everytime I've "dressed up" to get my hair done, they do an awesome cut that suits my syle.

maybe this is where I've been going wrong for the last 15 years thats the one thing I'm scared of...coming out looking like my mum

Do it! I got mine all cut off a few weeks ago and am still getting compliments. It made a huge difference!

I'm another encourager.... go for it!!! I had mine done a few weeks ago, and my curly, unmanageable 'takes to long to straighten so I can never be bothered' hair is gone and now I have a good length, that I can still put up if I want, but that takes 5 mins to straighten or is short enough for curls to look ok!!!! I'm excited for you!! I felt so good after my cut, I want you to have that feeling!! x

Listen to me.....It is only hair, and there is NO point having long hair when you (a) do not look after it and (b) always tie it up!
    It will grow back
And sorry I doubt you could ever look like your Mum...unless you get a perm?
