I am after a handcream for my DH. Yep, that's right my DH! I am not too fussed about the cost but want to be able to buy it at the chemist/supermarket etc... preferably.
ATM DH has been using the nutrimetics one and now using the Body Shop body butter, both of which haven't made his hands any better. The problem is he works on a farm and won't wear gloves. His hands are rough on his palms and sun damaged on top.
Any suggestions?
The Body shop Hemp hand protector is awesome for extra dry hands!! My dh is a landscaper and he uses it on his cracked hands - also it's not a girly looking product and doesn't smell girly so I find he's more likely to use it!!
Thanks to both. I googled Dermidex and it is a cream for excema?
I might try the Body Shop one only cos I can get it at the shops / it is readily available. If it is no good, I'll try the Dermidex.
My DH has tried lots including the BS hemp but he goes back to Cetaphil - I think its from the chemist. He works in construction/timber so his hands get really dry and cracked! Good luck!
Neutogena Swiss Formula - get it a woolies. Can't recommend highly enough. I was a scrub sister in theatre and washed my hands more than 15x5minutes daily with iodine scrub - kept them beautifully.

Find a climbing shop, something like a K2 - a specialist shop and go and get some "Hand Jam" - DH uses it for rigging, he only needs to put it on twice a day and it keeps his hands nice. It doesn't smell "girlie", it has natural products in it.
We were in a climbing shop last week, picking up some new carabinas for him, and a girl was in there and she was commenting on how much indoor rockclimbing is drying out her hands, I turned to her and said get some hand jam, that I use it every day and it is fantastic and I've tried a lot of hand creams including expensive ones. She tried some on her hands there. I was in there today and the guys said the girl came back and bought a tub the next day.
The little tub (about the size of a lip balm tub) is about $10 and he only needs to dip his finger in there. We've had our tub for about 4 months and it hasn't run out yet. I'm about to go and buy one for me coz DH has started keeping it in his rigging bag.
DH used the hemp stuff a few times and said it left his hands too greasy. One of my girlfriend's hubbies runs a cleaning company and he swears by the hemp stuff.
