It suits you, you look great. You are lucky because you have a nice even fringe. I have a cows lick so can't pull one off.

Your MIL needs to learn some tact.

I really like fringes, it's looks nice! If you're not sure about it, try parting it at the side and swoosh it across your forehead... I do that with mine when it's getting a bit long and I can't get to the hairdresser.

OMG, I had the exact same experience about 6 weeks ago - my MIL said almost the exact same thing!!

Mine starts a lot further back and is longer and fuller, trying to think of someone famous with a similar fringe...um, kinda like the Veronicas?

Anyhoo, my DH said it made me look 14 - that was the BEST thing he could have said!! hahaha.

It does take timeto get used to it, I still have days when I think...hmmmm, did I do the right thing? But now I can grow my hair out without it hanging in my face constantly (my hair is UBER soft and silky, sounds great in theory but not when it can't even hold a bobby pin...no joke. My hairdresser couldn't even get the front of my hair to stay back) and am looking forward to having a bit of length and being able to wear it up again.

You look great - don't worry about your MIL - I'm not

P.S. Why can't MIL's just keep their opinions to themselves??? Grrr so rude. I'm sure they told their children if they can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. They should take their own advice and shut it!
