Help: Pants for Unusual Body Shape

I have got to buy some light-weight pants for summer... doesn't matter what style, but casual, maybe cargo or just plain cotton. Draw string does nothing for my figure though.

Who else has a very narrow waist but umm, ample butt, normal thighs and average height? I am about a size 10 waist, 14 hip, 12 thigh. All my life I have either had to buy pants that fit around the waist but are too tight over the butt or fit over the butt and are way too big around the waist.

Please oh please can anyone recommend a brand of clothing that has pants that might fit me? So many brands these days seem to cater for apple shapes (the opposite to me: trim butt, big waist).

Target does not work. Not does Sussan.

what about big w? I find they are cheaper quality but a good fit.

I have huge hips, huge butt, but my waist is the smallest part of me. Basically I need to buy skin tight pants so they stay up. Nothing i can do

I know Danni... it's just awful... i am so sick of having gaping fabric at the back of the waist of my pants IYKWIM? I cinch it in with a belt but the gathers look terrible and I end up having to wear a top which covers it when i would prefer to show off my waist... it's the only bit of my figure worth showing off these days I also have this issue with skirts but to a lesser extent. I'll check out Big W but I think I might just have to go to a tailor!

My broad shoulders stop me from being a true pear thankfully... old fashioned clothes like vintage 50's dresses fit me really well... it's like clothing manufacturers aren't making clothes for my body type anymore... it's like my body as well as my brain is stuck pre-1960! LOL

Hmm so do you just have a tiny waist and bigger thighs/butt?? I have the same but i'm not a pear shaped, i'm even all over. But what i find is that say a size 8 pants fits me all over but is too loose on the waist. I just wear long singlets under my tops to cover it. Unfortunately i don't think they make special pants for us!

I have however found some 3/4 pants at target that fold down over the waist band, they almost look maternity but they aren't. Basically i've found these don't gape much at all, i think its the extra fabric around the waist. If you don't know what i mean i can take a pic of mine and show you?

Thanks OurLux, but I kinda prefer not to have too much fabric around my waist... it's more flattering if i don't otherwise i look too big all over. LOL Danni, yes, hourglass is a tad more flattering than "pear" although because I'm not terribly buxom either I guess I could be defined as a pear... it seems to me that most clothes these days are designed for "apples".
