Question Lengthening Mascara ... Which do you recommend ??

    Hi all,

I'm so sick of wasting money$ on mascaras that claim to give the effect of long lashes

I also use an eyelash curler in case someone suggests to use one

What mascara do you find that gives the results ??

I don't mind a mascara that also gives some thickness and/or volume

Thanks a million for any replies

    Cheers from Lorelle xox

I have used the revlon one.
THe one where it has 2 ends to it. A white end that you put on first and then a black end. That really did lengthen and thicken them up!

For me i dont feel any mascara give me long luscious lashes....., they just make my eyelashes black or brown or whatever. For me, the importance of a mascara is how does it wash off ??? I was so sick of having panda eyes every time i stepped outta the shower, until i found a mascara called 'mirenesse - secret weapon mascara'. Chemists sell it, shopping channel, or google mirenesse. The mascara comes off in beads off your eyelashes.....no smudging or panda eyes....i love it. Costs around $30.

A girlfriend of mine brought back from overseas a christian dior black mascara for me......TBH i cannot believe they charge $80+ for this stuff.....its no better than my $30 tube !!!!

    Good luck....

I absolutely swear by L'Oreal Double Extension. Not the 'Beauty Tubes' one, just the regular Double Extension. I have the stumpiest lashes known to man (and am insaaaanely jealous of DH and DD because they have gorgeous, thick, loooong lashes!!) so I *need* a good lengthening one and so far this is the best I've found - and it's quite reasonably priced, too.
It is slightly volumising as well, but the best thing is that it almost doubles the length of my lashes so it's just what I need to get that lovely fringe-y look (most mascaras just make my eyeliner look darker, kwim, there are still no lashes there!!).

It's one of those 2-step mascaras with the white base to add fibres to your lashes (which lengthen them) and then the black mascara. The base is super-easy and non-smudgy to apply, the mascara itself is a tad sticky and can smudge badly if you don't give it a bit of drying time, but overall it's pretty fabulous - my only gripe is that the brush is a straight one (I prefer the curved brushes that get those teensy little lashes right in the corners of your eyes), but that's no big deal. Again, the benefits outweigh the cons so I recommend it!!

    Thumbs up

GothMum (Donna) ... Thank U ... Thank U ... Thank U ... Whoo hoo yesterday i purchased the exact same mascara you recommended and i just LOVE IT

Me too, i have short lashes and mine are not that dark ... yet DP & DD have long, thick, dark lashes (oh, me soooo jealous of them)

So, i wore it last night for the 1st time to a 21st birthday party and it wore well. My lashes looked like killer long black lashes

Yeh, you are right ... How great would it be if it was made with the curved brush !!

Only thing i thought it was just a tad smidgen clumpy when applying BUT i'm thinking i might not be waiting long enough for the ' white undercoat mascara ' to dry ??? ... Donna do you have any tips in applying to give the fullest effort ... mind you it's not like i'm complaining when I now have LONG LASHES !!!! ... Just thought you might have some tricks up your sleeve to share

    THANKS A MILLION DONNA

(By the way, Priceline have 20% off it at the moment BUT it is cheaper$ again at BigW (Managers special it's called) at just under $22 ... regularly about $29 at Priceline)
