I absolutely swear by L'Oreal Double Extension. Not the 'Beauty Tubes' one, just the regular Double Extension. I have the stumpiest lashes known to man (and am insaaaanely jealous of DH and DD because they have gorgeous, thick, loooong lashes!!) so I *need* a good lengthening one and so far this is the best I've found - and it's quite reasonably priced, too.
It is slightly volumising as well, but the best thing is that it almost doubles the length of my lashes so it's just what I need to get that lovely fringe-y look (most mascaras just make my eyeliner look darker, kwim, there are still no lashes there!!).
It's one of those 2-step mascaras with the white base to add fibres to your lashes (which lengthen them) and then the black mascara. The base is super-easy and non-smudgy to apply, the mascara itself is a tad sticky and can smudge badly if you don't give it a bit of drying time, but overall it's pretty fabulous - my only gripe is that the brush is a straight one (I prefer the curved brushes that get those teensy little lashes right in the corners of your eyes), but that's no big deal. Again, the benefits outweigh the cons so I recommend it!!
GothMum (Donna) ... Thank U ... Thank U ... Thank U ... Whoo hoo yesterday i purchased the exact same mascara you recommended and i just LOVE IT
Me too, i have short lashes and mine are not that dark ... yet DP & DD have long, thick, dark lashes (oh, me soooo jealous of them)
So, i wore it last night for the 1st time to a 21st birthday party and it wore well. My lashes looked like killer long black lashes
Yeh, you are right ... How great would it be if it was made with the curved brush !!
Only thing i thought it was just a tad smidgen clumpy when applying BUT i'm thinking i might not be waiting long enough for the ' white undercoat mascara ' to dry ??? ... Donna do you have any tips in applying to give the fullest effort ... mind you it's not like i'm complaining when I now have LONG LASHES !!!! ... Just thought you might have some tricks up your sleeve to share
THANKS A MILLION DONNA
(By the way, Priceline have 20% off it at the moment BUT it is cheaper$ again at BigW (Managers special it's called) at just under $22 ... regularly about $29 at Priceline)
LSK ... yesterday my hairdresser told me that the Napoleon eyeshadows are brilliant ... she said they are long wearing ... Have you tried the eyeshadows LSK ??
No problems, Smiles, glad I could help out and that you've found something that works for you!! Yeah, I find it tends to get a bit clumpy at times also, actually my best trick for that is to wait a shorter amount of time for the base coat to dry!! And brand-new mascaras always seem to be a bit gluggy, give it a few workouts and it should get into that nice consistency that means less clumps (and also, giving your lashes a light 'brush' with the brush as it's drying, picks up the clumps and whisks them off your lashes, kwim? Give it a go and you'll work it out pretty quick ).
As far as getting even longer lashes (yes, once you realise you can get them, there's no such thing as 'too much'!), try going two or even more coats of the base coat - you can see where the fibres adhere to the ends of your lashes, and then if you let it dry and go another round, you can see fibres stick to the ends of the first fibres and suddenly you have that *really* false-lash look!
Really glad I could help out, cheers for the pricing advice hey, came just at the right time - I accidentally left mine in the centre console of the car when we went on a day-trip last weekend (and had been searching high and low for it for days!) and I think the heat of being in the car must have affected it because it's gotten a bit *too* dry... so I'm in the market for a new one, thanks heaps!!
