    Matching Bras and Undies

OK, as I approach 40 I've made a semi-resolution to be better groomed. My friends found this announcement hilarious when I was sitting there with VERY chipped nail polish on that had been there at least two months!

Anyhow, my underwear was peeing me right off. So I went out today and possibly for the first time ever bought matching bras and undies which felt quite decadent.

So, my question is, how many people buy matching bras and undies and if you do, do you buy multiple pairs of the undies. I bought two undies per bra cos I figure I wear the bra a few times but the knickers only once (obviously) before washing.

Interested to find out what other people buy.

I love buying matching bras and undies. Makes me feel so sexy even though nobody else can see it!!

I only buy one set of undies per bra because I find if I don't wash the undies and bras together, the colour fades and different rates and they end up looking pretty different, IYKWIM.

i have my "old" underwear that i wear at home - or when AF is visiting - but everything else is in matching sets. and i hate it with a passion when i'm trying to put the clothes away and i can't pair them up!

i have never owned a matching set!

I have great big boobs, so every bra i buy these days is so big and supportive that it looks like a grany bra and the matching undies certainly wouldn't make me feel sexy, they are usually big biege numbers

Oh Captain, I thought I had come up with a masterstroke buying multiple undies but never thought of the fade factor! This grooming lark is more complicated than I had thought.

Widdly - I know what you mean about troublesome big boobs - I'm a D cup and it's SO annoying to find a beautiful bra only to find it only goes up to a C.

I have been wearing my maternity bras because they're so darn comfy even though I stopped BFing four months ago. So I figured (and DP gently prodded) it was time for some new undies.

Fiona it can still work. Just make sure you wash them all together in the same wash.

I'm with you on the big boob thing. I'm a DD verging on E. I have found a great shop that stocks pretty things in the sizes, but it's a lot more expensive. I only but something when I REALLY need it.

Oh hell yeah! Ever since I left home (age 19) I have. Before that it was plain bras because my mum would see them, so I guess everything was white so it all matched. Save my black period pants!

Actually, I am in a black bra with red floral detail with plain black pants (period!) so not so wonderful today. But most of the time matching.

Usually just 1-2 pairs of pants per bra. I have a small chest so don't need seperate sports brasand thus wash regularly. But the pants usually have more washes than the bras and I've not had a fading problem.

Um, sexy big bras, try UK sites. Sexy bras and matching pants, but costly postage so buy a lot in one go! Sexy small bras, not so easy.

    hth!

I used to have some matching sets, mainly the very nice stuff for going out. The main problem I found with matching sets is that they often don't go well with the outer clothes. If I am wearing dark pants with a light top I often would need to wear dark undies with a light bra. Also depending on the cut of the top or bottoms, the bra or undies would need to be picked to suit it. Bra that would go under a low cut top or undies that had minimal vpl.

I practically never buy matching sets, poor DH I have other lingerie though

I'm like Astrid, I choose my underwear based on what clothes I'm wearing - what bra looks best under that top, what knickers don't show through my skirt, or over the top of my jeans etc etc.

Ryn, it's funny you should mention UK sites for getting big bras - I saw a program on SBS the other night that said British women are recorded as having the biggest breasts in the world!

Don't think I've bought a matching set for years. Ummmm, do they do them in the bulk packs??? You know, like they do 2 bras packs and 5 undies packs? But then, I hardly ever wear undies as they rub on my scar and make me sore. Sometimes I look at the catalogues that come with the paper and think longingly of when I was young though ...........

    Cool

There's an English website called Figleaves (dot co dot uk) which has specialist bras and undies for us "larger" women. I'm an F cup... up to a GG when breastfeeding, so need a little help and support IYKWIM!

I find that the matching stuff makes me feel SO much sexier...

that figleaves site is a bloody revelation Divvy. I've just looked at their stuff on how to know whether you're wearing the right size. I've been presuming that because my bras ride up at the back that they're too small but I've got that completely wrong and I'm apparently wearing a band size too big. Just adjusted the bra I'm wearing and put on a tighter fastening and hey presto, no riding up.

Evidently have much to learn about this grooming business.

    Yep
I buy matching Bra and undies! I am a DD cup aswell, I buy them through UnderCoverWear, the bras are about $39 each but they are brilliant, supportive and last a long time, i would rather spend money and get quality instead of quantity.

As for when AF is visiting i wear just Black undies and i have a few black bra's just plain ones that are convertiable.

I have bought a couple of Sports bra's and i hunted high and low for a nice pair of pale blue undies that i like.

Slightly OT, but one of the best things I ever did was to get a bra fitted properly by a specialist shop. Had been going to a department store previously but they got it completely wrong. Has really made a difference (went from 22 DD to a 16G!)

As for buying bras and underwear that go together - only time I did this was for my wedding. Now I just buy for practicality. I think I feel more sexy with my outer wear.

I have a few matching bra and undies sets but the bras don't fit me anymore I would luuurve to buy some matching sets that fit me but I want to lose weight first (who knows when that will be ) I am a DD to an E (seems to vary from bra to bra) and can't really find many nice bras. I have bought some off Zodee which are very nice

That's amazing Gargy! Yep, last time I got fitted by a department store they told me I was something like a 10E which was completely wrong too. So I kind of gave up on the fitting thing but maybe I should try a specialist shop.

as for the great big boobs girls.. i was in Myer the other day and saw they stock a UK brand (sorry cant remember the name) that services the 'fuller figure' but in a great sexy way. so you can always give that a try -
fionas - i can't believe you were nursing bras after nursing! i dislike them immensley (have been wearing them non-stop for over 3 yrs as i've been nursing straight) but when i go out at night i always swap to a good minimiser that has underwire.

I'm not sure if this is the one doulamamma is referring to, but FAYREFORM are fairly excellent for the fuller figure / big boobs. They tend to be a fair bit pricey - around the same as Hot Milk (check out the ABA store) but i found the one i did buy (and the others i really wanted to) to be really good.

AND they have absolutely gorgeous sets...

It's also the only brand that i found actually made bras in a size that fit... & it was a 16HH... All i seem to find otherwise is that i (like my mat. bras at the moment) have to get band sizes too big to give me enough cup room (arrgh... wearing an 18F which seems tiny and the ride up is driving me bloody bonkers...!)

To answer your question though... i have one matching set... im hard pressed to ever find any...
