If your SIL is willing to drive a bit, there is a place at Preston called Maternity Mode. They stock 8 to 20something. I have a few large friends who shopped there when PG.
Hello, I gave up on finding dedicated maternity clothes. Fortunately, there's a shop called "Autograph" (formerly 1626) - it's like Katies for larger sizes and is often in big shopping centers. They have some really well designed affordable clothes which stretch in the right places. I was able to shop selectively for tops and skirts in a size larger than usual and they all fit me quite well right through. They have a range of trousers, called Ponte or Pointe - which were Fantastic - comfiest trous I've ever worn, preggy or not. HTH.
FYI Kim, yep you are allowed to say that![]()
There is a company called cosmic maternity that have an online shop with some really nice outfits for the larger size. There is even some nice evening wear. I didn't realise they were located only 15mins from me, until I was driving past one day and my husband spotted them. If you google cosmic maternity it's the first one listed.
ETA: Ooh! They have a sale on at the moment too.
I also found Pumpkin Patch maternity clothes big - I was a size 20-22 at the start of my pregnancy and bought XL jeans and they were still a bit big at the end - also some leggings and shorts.
I can vouch for Cosmic Maternity too - they are fantastic and have a great range of both casual and dressy clothes. Also PP were great - I got a skirt, a shirt and a Tshirt and plan on keeping them all to continue wearing now because they really don't look like mat clothes either.
thanks heaps for all your advice!!
having a look now!!
