I LOVE the idea of a maxi dress, but when I try them on, I look like a freaking GIANT! Not kidding. I'm tallish with broad shoulder and hips and I do carry a bit of extra weight, so I just look like a massive trunk of person. I WISH I could wear them but it just doesn't do anything for me... : (
Hi Ruth- There are differnent styles of maxi dresses so make sure you try different types on. I have big bbs so I cant wear the spaghetti strap ones. I look for ones with thicker shoulder straps.
I've decided I'm going to get one with a halter neck. Would be particularly good for met at the moment because I've got a massive bruise on my deathly pale legs where I fell through our decking!
I bought about 7 while in Canada to wear for my entire pregnancy as I was over there for the summer and now I am going through summer here (with a little stint in winter ) I think they are great to hide a little bit of pudge but as the bump has gotten bigger it accentuates it. I just pop my boob out the top for feeding but then I don't care who sees my boobs anyway, they have kind of become equipment rather than a body part for me.
So have fun trying some on, there are several different styles and prints out there so be sure to try out a mixture.
I had a Maxi dress ... would you believe it 14years ago ... wore it to death ... went from being a black to a purplish colour, LOL (though back then you wore them with knee high boots) ... i love em with flatties now
I can't wear the ones with shirred elastic around the bust & back ... makes my big boobies look even bigger, augh
Noticed ' Just Jeans ' have recently got some more designs in
Saw some cute ones in the Kmart catelogue this week (not usually a big fan of Kmart clothes ... purely cause had bad experience with fabric quality) ... But might check em out there too
