Instead of a pin, get one of those disposable splinter removers - they are much more hygenic (as they are for one time use and they are sterilised) and better shaped as they are designed for that purpose.
Ouch! I hope it is feeling better soon.

I have my splinter pack ready lol. Those things are magnificent because DD had about 20 splinters in her hand and we got them out in 5 minutes flat

Applied heat... nothing
Applied honey and a band-aid and now waiting. I only have about 15 mins before DD wants out of the bath and harrasses me too

lol, I thought of that but DD just got out when I realised I should be getting in. She was irate and wanted out as soon as she was washed

you can get stuff called thars from the chemist that will draw it out
