I agree you cannot stop aging of the skin. However I think certain ingredients and formulations, when at an effective concentration and when used in conjunction with sunscreen and general body and skin health, can help to protect the structure and condition of the skin.
I think on the whole skin care products are a waste of time. I think you can do a lot for your skin and aging through diet though- you don't have to just give up
Sometimes I like a nice moisturiser but I use coconut oil things and none of the fancy skin care product brands.
As for sunscreen we avoid it as much as possible. We like to get plenty of vitamin D so we mostly just wear hats and stay in the shade if it's really bright. When we really need to prevent burning we use badger sunscreen as it's non-nano zinc and doesn't have any chemicals in it. I'd rather not give myself one cancer in the hopes of preventing another!
My mum has had amazing benefits from a skin whitening cream to help with her age spots. It actually makes me uncomfortable she endorses and uses it. I think I'd rather prevent the sun damage in the first place.
