    Thanks for all the replies.

Onyx - that's what I'm most concerned about, that mum and Dh didn't like them. But mum just said she wasn't used to "the look", Dh was a bit more funny - he said he thinks it's a bit "mutton dressed as lamb"!! That's why I was asking about the age thing..

    Girls - what's a band tee?

I might revisit them in a bit... Em, would love to take you to Katies to help me out

I am 37 and still wear them...I certainly don't feel like mutton at all...and I don't think I look it either
You are only 30 not exactly mutton age

Ok. So I tried some on and I actually like them. With the right top they are very flattering. The only thing that stopped me from buying them was that there is zero belly growing room and by the time it gets cool enough to wear them here they so won't fit!

...maybe I should get a maternity pair

Get a few pairs of the Jeans West maternity jeans...they come in black skinny, dark blue skinny and a lighter blue (possibly) bootcut. They. Are. So. Comfy! I wish I got mine sooner in the pregnancy! They sit soo well on your body, and the band over the belly is super comfy! I love wearing mine, I just *wish* they made the lighter blue in the skinny version, as it's more casual and bootcut doesn't suit me. But seriosuly, go try a pair on. The chicks who helped me really knew what they were taslking about and sized me well, showed me all the features etc...and two for $100 is awesome! (or $65 each).

I just bought my first ever pairs of skinny jeans from Jeanswest. One black, one blue. They sell extra long (38 inch inseam) unhemmed jeans for us tall girls, so I've ordered them and they should arrive in the mail from their warehouse soon. So excited!! I also never thought I could wear them, but thanks to breastfeeding I am about 11 kgs less than when I got pg, so I even fit into size 10!! Oh and I'm over 30 too

Detest the trend - but then I have thick ankles and big feet, they just accentuate them. I can only wear the pair I have with funky boots to hide ankles and feet (as a tall 8 I used to have trouble finding jeans... now I found a pair at the supermarket that fit perfectly so byebye fashion shops!).

Oh man I am old - I thought it was a strapless top - like a band? with a cardigan. Ahem - going to crawl back under my rock now

I have been a boot leg fan for years and years and recently I was in ready to buy another pair for this season when the shop assistant suggested skinny leg. I was horrified at the thought, but had some time on my hands so gave it a go. I wasn't sure at first but I actually like them now. DH even commented on how he liked me in them. I can't give up my boot legged ones, but I am definately more open to the thought of skinny legged ones now!
