    Swimsuits for a bigger lady

DP and I are going to Surfers in August and while i am HOPING to have lost a bit of weight by then i am by no means kidding myself that i will be stunning in some bathers.

So i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get some nice bathers (obviously out of season) to suit a bigger lady.

My issue i'm all thighs & butt and very little boobage so i'm quite out of proportion - at the moment i have a plain blue one piece i wear with DP's boardies over the top at the pool.

I'm not looking at spending a small fortune just something nice at the decent end of the budget .

    EMMA09 - any ideas?

david jones and Myer have larger swimmers. I am a 22 and found some there. I get a separate top to bottoms (tankini i think its called) plus wear board shorts.

There's a place in Adelaide called Jem Designs who do plus size bathers in all sorts of configurations (including swim shorts and tankinis and things) and they have an online store too.

I got one from the US that is called Always For Me Chic Solids Venus Halter Retro Swimdress Style. Google those words and you will find it. I absolutely love it. It is so comfortable and flattering.

The thing with Zodee and those online stores is you can buy a few styles and try them on at home - with your own mirror etc. But often if you can find a awesome person in store to help, they know the stock, and what might be right.

See im short and stout and boy leg do nada for me and tankinis shirt me to tears when they float up! I got a v neck with 2 straps( no halter! Yay!) and rouching on the tummy and it's a style I would never have gone with before but my gf made me try it on! Bikini line isn't too high or too granny! Definitely need to try them on IMO but then maybe I'm a weird size or something!

There's a place in the city. Brunswick or smith st. When I remember the name I will let you know but they do all sizes. If you want 1 piece, rebel do a speedo to size 22 or something like that.

    Thanks everyone.
Do boy leg make your legs look bigger, they will basically cut off at the biggest part of my leg, will that draw more attention?

Emma maybe we can check city chic epping together?

Black milk is cool but just FYI my friend who is a size 10 wears a size L in their swimmers and she is by no means a big girl.

Modcloth have cool retro style swimmers in plus size

ZF, did you end up buying some?

I need to buy some bathers. I think i want a tankini and boy leg shorts (i think my shorts will still fit). I have a large tummy seperation and still wear a support wrap full time. I need a non-tummy hugging top, maybe something bit more structured? Or i will just get a large rashy and wear it over a bathers top.
