Tattoo removal - tell me your experience...

What colour is the tattoo and how big is it? Black is apparently the hardest to get off.
I had laser tattoo removal on a tat I had on my shoulder a couple of years ago, unfortunately for me it only faded to about half of the original ink and wouldn't budge any further, it was black too. I ended up getting it covered over a few weeks ago.
Basically you will need to have between 6 and 10 laser sessions for it to be removed. The time between each session needs to be 6 to 8 weeks, so it can take up to 2 years to be removed completely. And it really hurts too!
Oh, and the scar they leave is hardly noticeable, some people don't have scarring at all

Not too big, but its black...I don't hate it, but I got it done when I was 20 and I don't want to be that person anymore IYKWIM? I'd love it to fade. Do you know anyone with success with a black one?

My Dad has his lasered off years ago. They were on his arms not too big, one went completey and the other has only left a small light blue mark that you would really have to look for to notice. Dad's were dark blue in color. Dad had to have 3 treatments in all

FIW I want to get my removed too, I have a small tattoo smaller than a 20 cent piece on my hip that I got when I was 18, and want to get it lasered off too! Would be interested in hearing others stories too.

Ooo covered...how hard is that? Do I have to get it lightened first?

A mate was telling me about his GF's tattoo removal where they can now inject into the tattoo a solution which dissolves the ink and expunges it from the skin. It needs a few goes too, and basically 'tattoos' the solution into the existing tattoo.

Sounds interesting, but I know nothing else about it.

Queen, tattoos are easy to cover over, you just need to find a good, trustworthy tattooist
Generally you don't need to have them lightened, but just remember that you need to cover a dark tattoo with a dark colour!

Slyder, that sounds really interesting, have never heard of that before, might go google it i think!
