I would have that problem too but i have a mirror that goes to from the floor to nearly the ceiling so i just look in there lol!
I really need something and shaving gives me the worst burn plus it itches like hell for weeks. But i am too much of a wuss to go get a wax especially during pregnancy when its much more sensitive.

antheia i'm the same .... i cried when i got my lip waxed the other day ... no way I am game to let anyone put hot wax near my nether regions
