Honestly it would depend on where you live, as in the weather.

For me, I'd get a really nice winter coat or two. Maybe a nice pair of boots. A hat or two. A good suit for work.

I'd look at things that are versatile if your weather allows it, so, yes, a nice pair of well-fitting jeans, some nice shirts/blouses, a dress.

I'm in weight reduction mode at the moment, so I'm hanging off for a little while before I purchase my winter coat for this year, but I do check out the glorious coat shop on the way to the gym every day.

    Just thought I would update.

I decided rather than shopping in Sydney with DH and DD in tow, it would be better to shop here at the local Westfield without DD and with my best friend for advice! Also the only shop in Sydney that we don't have here is The Gap.

So I went yesterday and spent about 3.5 hours browsing!! I bought:
    - black single button blazer, 3/4 sleeves, can wear with jeans or dress up with pants (Brown Sugar)
    - two pairs of skinny jeans (OMG never thought I could wear skinny jeans), one black one blue (Jeanswest)
    - two dresses (Country Road)
    - three necklaces (Lovisa)

And I spent.... $387! So I still have some to play with in Sydney! So pleased with my purchases. Am going to check out pants at The Gap and also look for some ballet flats I think

    Thanks for everyone's suggestions!

    Thanks MrsBexie

It was actually quite daunting to have $ to spend on myself and to go clothes shopping since I haven't done that since before I was pregnant. Oh and of course I couldn't resist buying one thing for DD - a pair of light blue ruffled bloomers from Country Road on sale for $8!

Will keep an eye out for those ballet flats
