Before having the boys and when I was working DH spent $470 on an Oroton handbag for me. I don't use it that much to justify the price and to be honest the quality isn't as good as I would expect for that price.... but it is a classic style that will never date, I don't think.
DH recently spent about $130 (I think) on a Crumpler backpack which I use every day and is fantastic quality.
I don't judge an item by cost anymore: more on quality, durability, and most importantly the COST PER USE. If you use something daily and it's perfect then the price would almost be irrelevent. But it has to be perfect, that's the tricky bit.
Okay please don't bid and pip me because i'm still in the lead! but its a circa 1970s Chanel bag, its genuine as it has all the hallmark traits and also a pic of the serial number. Plus i don't imagine there were many fakes back then.
I my self usually spend around $50 -$70 on a handbag.
But hubby just bought me a guess handbag which cost him $180, then he decided to throw in the matching purse at a cost of $80.
His choice too and i have to say he did a good job!
lol.. i can't talk, my sister made me my handbag.. but i wouldn't spend over $100. there was a really nice one off at a local store recently that i loved. i finally got up the guts to ask how much... about $400.. i can't justify that on a handbag...
I splurged on my guess bag about 12 months ago now and that was $350 - but i use it every and LOVE it! The running joke though is that the bag is worth more than whatever is in it!!
oh hun....i dont know which bag it is, i had a quick look....your not outta the race yet are you ??
I recently just spent $220 on a kathy van zeeland bag....im not normally into handbags, but this black classic was lovely. I love even more that strangers come up to me and compliment me on my bag.....i will have it for a lifetime, you may have your chanel too......
Hubby bought me a "hot pink" Guess bag, it was 230, he haggled it to 200 from the bag shop. also got a matching "hot pink" purse, do u think I use it - nooooo.
