Aw i'm at my max bid $320, and theres a few hours to go. I don't think i'll win I'd pay more in theory but can't really justify more at this point.

What type of bag is it?
Are you 100% sure it's not a fake? Nothing worse than a fake - bluech!!

ETA - when it comes to handbags I'm the worst enabler ever!

Before having the boys and when I was working DH spent $470 on an Oroton handbag for me. I don't use it that much to justify the price and to be honest the quality isn't as good as I would expect for that price.... but it is a classic style that will never date, I don't think.

DH recently spent about $130 (I think) on a Crumpler backpack which I use every day and is fantastic quality.

I don't judge an item by cost anymore: more on quality, durability, and most importantly the COST PER USE. If you use something daily and it's perfect then the price would almost be irrelevent. But it has to be perfect, that's the tricky bit.

Okay please don't bid and pip me because i'm still in the lead! but its a circa 1970s Chanel bag, its genuine as it has all the hallmark traits and also a pic of the serial number. Plus i don't imagine there were many fakes back then.

    Fingers crossed!

After experiencing having my handbag stolen many years ago i just couldn't spend $300 on a handbag even if i did love it

    P.S ... Me too, i'm a sucker for vintage fashion accessories !!

I my self usually spend around $50 -$70 on a handbag.
But hubby just bought me a guess handbag which cost him $180, then he decided to throw in the matching purse at a cost of $80.
His choice too and i have to say he did a good job!

    Good luck with your bidding!

I had a snoop. It looks lovely - I had a quick look on my purse forum too and the Chanel gurus there think it's authetinc.
    Good Luck!!!!

lol.. i can't talk, my sister made me my handbag.. but i wouldn't spend over $100. there was a really nice one off at a local store recently that i loved. i finally got up the guts to ask how much... about $400.. i can't justify that on a handbag...

I splurged on my guess bag about 12 months ago now and that was $350 - but i use it every and LOVE it! The running joke though is that the bag is worth more than whatever is in it!!

My Mum bought me a baby Phat bag, its quite tiny, so i use that instead of the guess one (not too obvious). LOL.

but in saying, I said to hubby that I never owned a designer bag....
