You can do that but probably not a good idea to brown the chicken until you're actually going to turn the slow cooker on.
The cooking time would depend on the size of the pieces. I'd probably add the hour.

Why not chop up everything so it's ready to go and brown the chicken in the morning?
Don't half cook chicken and let it sit there overnight!!!!

thanks ladies. prepared everything and browned chicken this morning and now it is cooking.
