    Hi Teni, I've just come across this thread. I thought I would add a couple that I have saved;

I have not turned my back on you
I have not turned my back on you
So there is no need to cry.
    I'm watching you from heaven
    Just beyond the morning sky.

I've seen you almost fall apart
    When you could barely stand.
I asked an angel to comfort you
And watched her take your hand.

She told me you are in more pain
    Than I could ever be.
She wiped her eyes and swallowed hard
Then gave your hand to me.

Although you may not feel my touch
Or see me by your side.
I've whispered that I love you
While I wiped each tear you cried.

So please try not to ache for me
    We'll meet again one day.
Beyond the dark and stormy sky
    A rainbow lights the way.

    I Thought of You Today
I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too,
I think of you in silence I often speak your name
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part
God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart.

    Little Snowdrop
The world may never notice If a Snowdrop doesn't bloom,
Or even pause to wonder If the petals fall too soon.
But every life that ever forms, Or ever comes to be,
Touches the world in some small way For all eternity.
The little one we long for Was swiftly here and gone.
But the love that was then planted Is a light that still shines on.
And though our arms are empty, Our hearts know what to do.
Every beating of our hearts Says that we love you.

    A Father's Grief
    It must be very difficult
To be a man in grief,
    Since "men don't cry"
    and "men are strong"
    No tears can bring relief.
    It must be very difficult
To stand up to the test,
And field the calls and visitors
So she can get some rest.
They always ask if she's all right
    And what she's going through.
But seldom take his hand and ask,
"My friend, but how are you?"
He hears her crying in the night
And thinks his heart will break.
He dries her tears and comforts her,
But "stays strong" for her sake.
    It must be very difficult
    To start each day anew.
And try to be so very brave-
    He lost his baby too

Ask My Mom How She Is

My Mom, she tells a lot of lies,
    She never did before.
But from now until she dies,
She'll tell a whole lot more.

Ask my Mom how she is
    And because she can't explain,
She will tell a little lie
Because she can't describe the pain.

Ask my Mom how she is,
    She'll say "I'm alright."
If that's the truth, then tell me,
why does she cry each night?

Ask my Mom how she is,
She seems to cope so well.
She didn't have a choice you see,
    Nor the strength to yell.

Ask my Mom how she is,
    "I'm fine, I'm well, I'm coping."
For God's sake Mom, just tell the truth,
Just say your heart is broken.

She'll love me all her life,
I loved her all of mine.
But if you ask her how she is,
She'll lie and say she's fine.

    I am Here in Heaven.
    I cannot hug from here.
If she lies to you don't listen,
Hug her and hold her near.

On the day we meet again,
We'll smile and I'll be bold.
I'll say, "You're lucky to get in here, Mom,
With all the lies you told!"

Not sure of the actual title, or who wrote it, so let's call it...

    "Your Boy - My Boy"

Your little boy cries too much
My little boy makes no sound
Your little boy sleeps warm in his crib
Mine lies cold in the ground

Your little boy woke up today
    My little boy never will
Your little boy laughs and plays
    My little boy lies still

Your little boy makes you proud
But just as proud am I
Cause while your little boy will learn to walk
    My little boy can FLY

It's wonderful these are here. Thanks Teni for starting this thread. We'll be using a couple of them at our son's funeral.

This song is probably more about remembering and reflection than loss as such. I thought I would put it in here because it is a really beautiful song to listen to and in case anyone was after this kind of thing.

    Like an Eagle
    Now is the time
    To follow the wind
    To walk alone

And a star will show the way
    Above the clouds
    Beyond the sea

    And now is the time
    And now and farewell
    And as we part

    You taught me well
    You gave me strength
    You showed the way
    I'll not forget you

Like an eagle I will soar above the clouds
I will spread my wings and fly into the sun
Like an eagle I will race above the stars

I will fly to places yet unseen
    Go beyond my wildest dreams
Know that you are watching over me

    And all alone
I will follow the stars above
    As my guide

    As my guide
    I trust in you
To show the way to me
    Beyond the sea

    And now is the time
    And now and farewell
    And as we part

    You taught me well
    You gave me strength
    You showed the way
    I'll not forget you

Like an eagle I will race above the stars
I will spread my wings and fly into the sun
Like an eagle I will race above the stars

I will fly to places yet unseen
    Go beyond my wildest dreams
Know that you are watching over me

Alone, I can fly with the eagle to the mountain high
Race with the eagle so far beyond my dreams
Like an eagle I will fly

Like an eagle I will race above the stars
I will spread my wings and fly into the sun
Like an eagle I will soar above the clouds

I will fly to places yet unseen
    Go beyond my wildest dreams
Know that you are watching over me

Like and eagle I will race above the stars
Like an eagle I will fly
Like an eagle I will fly

I'm gonna fly the highest mountain
    (Fly)
    Fly above the clouds
Like an eagle I will fly

This is just a song that always makes me cry & think of Noah.

    Come Back - Pearl Jam
    If I keep holding out
    Will the light shine through
    Under this broken roof
It's only rain that I feel
I've been wishing out the days
    Ohh ohh oh come back

    I have been planning out
All that I'd say to you
    Since you slipped away
Know that I still remain true
I've been wishing out the days
Please say that if you hadn't gone now
I wouldnt have lost you another way
    From wherever you are
Ohhhh ohh ohh oh oh come back

And these days they linger on
And in the night I've been waiting for
The real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams
    I go to sleep
If I dont fall apart, Will my memory stay clear
So you had to go, And I had to remain here

    But the strangest thing today
So far away and yet you feel so close
And I'm not gonna question any other way
There must be an open door
For you uhh uhh uhh.... To come back

And the days they linger on
And every night when I'm waiting for
The real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams
Sometimes you're there and you're talking back to me
Come the morning I can swear that you're next to me
    And it's okayyyyyy

    It's ok...it's ok

Ohhh I need you....come back, come back
Ahhhhh I need you come back, come back
Ohhhh I need you come back, come back

    Whoooo whooo whooo whoo (x4)

Annie Lennox (singer with Eurythmics) had a stillborn son, Daniel, in 1988. This song was written for him:

    Angel

    Underneath this canopy of snow
    Where fifty-seven winters
    Took their toll
    Where did you go?

    And I believed in you
    I believed in you
Like Elvis Presley singing psalms on a Sunday
    Where did you go?

Well she's gone to meet her maker
Back to where she came from
    Come to save her soul
    Come to save her soul
    Come to take her home
'Cause it's late and past your bedtime
    Well past bedtime

    Angel, my angel
    Fly over me, angel
    Angel, my angel
    Fly over me, angel

She took her life within her hands
She took her life within her own two hands
And no one can tell her
    What to do now

    And I believed in you
    I believed in you
Like Elvis Presley singing live from Las Vegas
    Where did you go?

Well she's gone to meet her maker
Back to where she came from
    Come to save her soul
    Come to save her soul
    Come to take her home
'Cause it's late and past your bedtime
    Well past bedtime

    Angel, my angel
    Fly over me, angel
    Angel, my angel
    Fly over me, angel

    Close your eyes
    Go to sleep
    Forever in my heart
    I'll keep you safe, forever
    I'll keep you safe

    Angel, my angel
    Angel, my angel

    Angel, my angel
    Fly over me, angel
    Angel, my angel
    Fly over me, angel

    Angel, my angel
    Fly over me, angel
