i suppose we all do our own searching for songs and poems.....in fact I spent most of HB's pregnancy preparing for her funeral. Even though I got a happy ending this time, I still search. Here are a couple of songs that have caught my attention lately.

i am not a country fan but diamond rio did a song called one more day. it's very compelling.

i am not particularly religious either but mark schulz did a song i want to show her what it means to be loved, it has a happy ending but the first few stanzas are just stopped me in my tracks.

enya has a song called if i could be where you are... here are the lyrics

"If I Could Be Where You Are"
Lyrics written by Roma Ryan
---
Where are you this moment
Only in my dreams
You're missing, but you're always
a heartbeat from me.

I'm lost now without you.
I don't know where you are.
I keep watching,
I keep hoping,
but time keeps us apart.

[chorus]
Is there a way I can find you?
Is there a sign I should know?
Is there a road I could follow,
to bring you back home?

Winter lies before me,
Now you're so far away
In the darkness of my dreaming
The light tore, you will stay

If I could be close beside you
If I could be where you are
If I could reach out and touch you
And bring you back home

[chorus]
Is there a way I can find you?
Is there a sign I should know?
Is there a road I could follow,
to bring you back home?

To me...

If you're into classical music/ chanting there is a very moving composition called Miserere Mei Deus, or often shortened to Allegri Miserere.

Annie Lennox's "Into the West" is also touching.

Another musical piece is Evenstar from The Two Towers/ LOTR trilogy.

As is Now We Are Free, from Gladiator, performed by Lisa Gerrard.

Anyway, just my thoughts for tonight.
