    carebear cake

can anyone think of any funky ideas for a carebear cake?
I plan for it to be in the shape of a carebear has to be tenderheart bear but was wondering what lollies or things i should put on it so it is just not a cake in the shape of something so it actually has some personality.....
do u know what i mean?
i have a tenderheart bear candle i will put beside the cake
and maybe make a rainbow with different coloured hundreds and thousands or m&ms.... am i getting close?

Could you use brown/orange coloured sugar to decorate the cake to give texture? And maybe red sugar for the heart? (or are you doing another type of bear as the carebear cake)

Choose some lollies or sprinkles in the same colour as Tenderheart Bear (sorry I'm not familiar with the colours). When DD1 turned 2 I did a Bananas in Pyjamas cake that involved two BIP figurines, yellow and blue sprinkles, those big yellow banana lollies, and blue smarties that I painstakingly sorted out of the self-serve lolly bin at the shop LOL! Looked fantastic.

Great thinking! Orange sprinkles for fur and red sugar for the heart to give that sparkle look to it.

nessa - that rainbow onthe belly with smarties or whateva is great idea (that cake is gorgeous)
i can do that with the red heart heaps better than just red icing
tenderheart bear is the orangybrown bear with the red heart (in my photo gallery is jemima with carebear when we are grocery shopping) (i dont know how to link stuff)

should i put the sprinkles over the top of the icing already coloured??
what should i use for eyes?
should i use m&ms or skittles for the red heart??

I actually just dyed some coconut so it was the same colour as the icing i was using.

    Hope that helps.

And I would say mms or smarties for the heart, choc is much easier for a child to eat then chewy skittles. for the eyes we used licorice, it can be cut into any shape
