    Crepe question

I am trying out a new crepe recipe tonight, one that calls for melted butter. It says to add it after the batter has rested for a little bit (10-20 minutes). I'm making the batter now, to cook in a few hours. Do I add the melted butter just before I cook the crepes, or in about 10-20 mins, and put the batter with the butter (lol!) in the fridge for another couple of hours? Does it make a difference which way around I do it?

    TIA

I usually just add my butter at the same time as my other liquids but if I was going to add it alter I would do it 10 minutes after adding the milk and egg then let it sit.

Yum. I love crepes. They're a weekend breakfast staple in our house.

Oooer. I don't have any butter in my crepe recipe.

I normally keep it in the fridge till right before I need it (at least an hour) this gives a better crepe, and is lacey.

I hoped it'd be you two that would reply, lol!

Thanks Onyx - in goes the butter now... Leftovers will be breakfast, by the way!
Rouge - my normal crepe recipe doesn't have melted butter either, but it's Date Night and we're having A Night in Paris theme, so I thought I'd try and be a bit authentic...

Nawwww you sound like me We've done A night in Paris date nights too.

I'm so lazy with crepes, I've had too many disasters. I blitz my batter in the blender too *shhhh*

    Totally not authentic *giggle*

I don't think it matters much how you mix it together as long as it can sit before it gets cooked.

It might separate out a bit overnight but just give it a quick stir in the morning and it will be good to go again.

OMG, the BEST crepes ever! We ended up cooking them all and just managed to keep three for breakfast this morning, but ate the rest between us (9 I think ) before we even sat down!
