I have fond memories from my childhood of crushing milk arrowroot (or similar) biscuits, mixing them together with something, I think it was condensed milk, and rolling them into balls. I’m keen to make something like this with my kiddies.
Does anyone have a recipe? Or two? Or for something else using crushed biscuits, a slice or something?
I think you're thinking of "rum" balls (though I never made them with rum, and they're yuuuuck with it in) - I don't remember the measurements, but we made them with crushed bikkies, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate powder, and desiccated coconut
1 packet of crushed biscuits
1/2 can condensed milk
100g butter
1 packet of fruit puff lollies/eskimos cut into pieces
Melt butter, add condensed milk, add biscuits and lollies. Form into a log and roll in coconut. Let set and cut into slices. Alternatively can be made into balls.
Fruit puffs and eskimos can be hard to find though. Any shop selling NZ stuff will have them I have made it with marshmallows but they can go a bit gooey.
