    I was going to say rice pudding but then saw the non-dairy bit.

    Try it with lactose free milk, like i do, if lactose is the problem. Or try soy??

    Golden Syrup dumplings are done in a saucepan. They do have butter and milk, so you could use a dairy free substitute for those.
