I am missing custard over here. None of the shops sell good old Bingo or any other type of custard powder, so I am at a total loss. No trifles..rice custard..peach melba

Anyone got any idea how to make custard from scratch? I think its a egg/cream recipe but from what I've seen it all looks complicated with lots of whisking.
