Options for "sweet treats" thats might be a little healthier....

    Hi All,

Since being pregnant I have been a sugar fiend .... (was never all that fussed about it prior) and am chowing down choc and ice cream like it's going out of style.

Does anyone have some recipes for cake/ muffins/ slice etc that will still satisfy my sweet tooth but would be a little healthier??

    I'd appreciate any suggestions

Not sure on the baked goods but I can't get enough of watermelon! Bring on the summer fruit!

there was a thread a couple of days ago about hiding veg in muffins - might be able to do something like that - would still be cake-ish food, but healthier

i have been loving fruit juice icy poles - a bit of sweetness, withouth too much sugar!

dried apricots.... the logs with coconut on them from the health food shop, or the yoghurt covered balls, YUM!

and yep, icy poles are the bomb for me at the moment too!

When my kids want something sweet but I want them to have something healthy I often cut up a banana into small circles then toss them in coconut. They eat them with a small fork and consider it a 'treat'.
