Food doesn't have to be sugary to cause allergic reactions or behavioural problems. Some preservatives can cause trouble. Colours, dyes, flavorings - take your pick! Food packaged and marketed "for babies" or children does not mean it is better or gentler.
All I can do in my home is to keep food as whole as possible. Yes, it can take more time, but I think it is worth it. Plenty of fruit and veg, steamed. Wholegrain cereals etc, etc. You've probably heard it all before....
Once food is wrapped in colourful packaging, with all the bells and whistles "new, improved!, fat-free!", it ceases to become food to me. Just cardboard flavored like beef, chicken whatever.
