    Delayed ovulation after miscarriage?

Can ovulation still be delayed the next cycle after a miscarriage?

I had my D&C on Jan 11th & if I take that as CD1 I ovulated on CD22 which was 6 days later than usual for me. I'm on CD15 now of my 2nd cycle after the miscarriage & have had no signs of ovulation yet, so is it possible that the miscarriage has caused this or would it be something else?

Hey Sarah - yeah having a MC really mucks up your hormones, I normally O on CD20 and my O had several false starts this month (which is directly after my MC) anyway finally its just happened, so about 10 days late. I found that charting helped, at least it confirmed exactly when I O'd so there was no guessing.

But I've heard of others having delays in future cycles too whilst their bodies got back to normal.

    Good luck!

yes - the hormonal changes can affect ovulation. I O'd about a week late my m/c cycle. The 2nd cycle it was close to normal (CD12-16). I found charting helped me understand what was going on, even though it was depressing too.

I had real drama's with my cycle after my MC. I went up to having a 72 day cycle at one stage
I hope things resolve themselves for you real soon

My cycle was all over the place after my second M/C. One of my cycles was 42 days long when they are normally around 28 days. I fell pg with DD after three cycles and didn't have a regular cycle in that time. I'm pretty sure it must affect your hormones, I remember feeling very nauseous after my first cycle.

I hope things go back to normal for you soon .

Hi Sarah, It's crazy isn't it... I know what you mean. Im not sure I even am ovulating after my last m/c which went on for 5.5 wks but I was only just 5 wks pregnant!

I seem to have gone from a 28day cycle to 26 day cycle with red tinge in my CM 2 days after AF has finished... AF usually v light and lasts 2 -3 days...
This is my 3rd cycle but am at a loss of what to do to get my O back!

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions on how to help cycles regulate after m/c??

    Post regulating cycle

Heya I had a m/c 4 weeks & 4 days ago & still no sign of AP. no BFP either..
I have this stuff my MIL got me, she is studying to be a natropath.. its called DONG QUAL. I'm going to start taking it, she highly recommended it to help regulate periods and it helps with pms & cramping too.. could be worth a try x

Hi Elastagirl - I had a missed m/c last September at 12wks. My cycles were pretty messed up also! Had no idea when I was ovulating. B4 my m/c i used to get EWCM but not anymore so I started charting! It has helped me so much instead of guessing! I also started seeing a Chinese Heb doc and she got my cycles down from 40days to 30days in 8 weeks - a combination of herbs and acupunture! Finally starting to feel alive again too, its really helped with my anxiety and stress too! She is brilliant! I hope you get your BFP soon!

I was wondering the same thing too. After my D&C- I got Af on CD26- and to be honest couldnt even see when I ovulated (usually cyles are about 30days). I'm on CD 12 at the moment, so hopefully I do ovulate soon but no signs yet. So maybe m/c is the cause.

Well everything is going a bit crazy here...

    D&C on Jan 11th.
    First cycle = O on CD22
    Second cycle = no O
Third Cycle = CD19 today & getting some EWCM

Em... you might not have Oed that cycle

Yeah me too, really hoping it sort itself out very very soon.

    D&C on 17th Dec
    First cycle: O on CD28
    Second cycle: O on CD21
Third: No idea yet, but had EWCM days 13-16, so hoping it's a 28-30 day and not a 35+ cycle!

Hi, it does seem that M/C & D&C really play havoc with cycles. I had a D&C on February 19th and I am still waiting for AF. Have done too many HPT all with BFN, and I am finding it extremely hard to know what my body is up to. As it is all over the place! I am now on day 49 and still waiting for AF to arrive. Ahhh, this is so frustrating. I had my bday yesterday and did a test hoping for a fantastic bday present, but alas BFN........Just want AF to arrive, so we can TTC again ASAP. As turning 35 has really hit home... So, sorry no advice for anyone, my doctor said anywhere from 4-6 weeks. Trust me to go for some record! lol. Good luck to everyone

Arrrgh so frustrating, this is what's happened now:

    D&C on Jan 11th.
    First cycle = O on CD22, 13 day LP
    Second cycle = no O
    Third Cycle = CD22, 10 day LP

10 day LP, what on earth is that??????? Me thinks a trip to the doctor is coming in my very near future *sigh*

Yeah, I'm having the same issues.

It looks like I'm heading for something like an 80 day cycle or something weird like that.

I think AF has arrived now so can TTC from next cycle.

    Hope your cycles normalise soon.

After my last miscarriage last year, my cycles were really out of whack. One month I'd have a 21 day cycle, the next month a 30+ day cycle. I never knew when I ovulated. Which is how this pregnancy happened. I thought I was safe as I'd only finished my period something like 4 days beforehand.
Hopefully your cycles return to normal for you very soon.
