Question how do you cope with a todler after a miscarrage?

i found out tuesday that ive had a misscarrage and i didnt even know i was pregnant. just wondering how other people coped and told freinds and family. im still trying to come to terms with the fact we were expecting again and to have all that taken away. i just feel so numb and just want to crawl up into a ball and have everything back to normal. i also have an active 16month old and i just want to stay in bed and cry. is this all normal.

    to you!

It's perfectly normal. We hadn't told anyone we were expecting when we had the scan and discovered there was no heartbeat. I had to ring my mum and mil and tell them first of all that we were pg and second of all we'd lost it. Not phone calls I'd ever want to make again.

I pretty much hibernated for about 2-3 days, hid in the bedroom, ate my comfort foods, felt sorry for our loss, let myself grieve and did lots of crying. All this while ds was being looked after by dh or other people. I love ds dearly but just couldn't cope looking after him those first few days after we got the news.

Be gentle to yourself, you need time to process the information you've received and come to terms with it. If you're not up to it, organise some care for your little one. Everyone deals with a loss in their own way, there is no right or wrong way.
