Question How long till AF after stopping progesterone pessaries

I have had 2 MC's and this month I have been on progesterone pessaries since a couple of days after O. Unfortunately the BDing was not timed right and I have ended up with a BFN. I will stop the progesterone pessaries now until after the next ovulation, but does any one know how long it will take for AF to arrive once I stop using the pessaries? I'd like AF to arrive asap if I am not UTD so I can get back to Oing asap!

    Thanks girls.

    Hi Joey
Sorry to hear this cycle has ended in BFN...my clinic nurse always said about 7 days after stopping pessaries but that was after mc with dropping hcg levels...so maybe sooner? Good luck!

    joey,
When I used these I found that if I wasn't pregnant and stopped them, AF would show up anything from 1 to 3 days later. Usually I would get 1 clear day, then maybe a coulpe days with light brownish spotting and then the next day AF would come as normal.
Here's hoping AF doesn't show up at all for you the next cycle.
    Good luck.

    Hey there Joey,

Some months my AF arrived before I stoppped the pessaries but last month it was 2 days after I stoppped them. Hope she's not too far away for you!

    Thanks Meg's Mum.

How often were you using them? I have the 200mg ones, using every 12 hours approx (before sleep and again before I get up in the morning).

I hope she comes to visit soon. It's good news that sometimes yours came before you stopped taking them. So perhaps it won't affect me as much as I thought!

    Joey,

I was using the highest dose ones - 400mg I think?? Sorry I don't have any left here now that I can check, I'm just relying on my dodgy memory I was using 2 a day, 1 in the morning and one the evening the months where AF arrived before I stopped. The month she arrived after I stopped I was on 3 a day - had a low CD21 prog that month so we upped the dose. HTH and hope AF has arrived for you! She has for me
