pregnant after 2 miscarriages... very scared

    Hi
Um, I haven't done this "thread" thing before so not really sure what to do, or why I'm doing it, actually ?! Think I just need some positivity and hope that this pg is going to go ok. I've had 2 miscarriages (one missed miscarriage - heart stopped at 6 weeks 4 days and then d/c after that and then an early miscarriage - natural bleeding - again at 6 weeks).I had some tests done and apparantly all ok. If I m/c again, they will do other testing (blood clotting etc) I am now almost 5 weeks pg and extremely scared. Went to Dr last week and he took blood tests and apparently he wants me to have another blood test in a few weeks to make sure my levels are increasing! Am so scared. Am wanting to stay positive but it is sooo hard.
Has anyone else had a successful pg after 2 m/c?

Hi Sheggles, there are plenty of women on BB that have been in this situation, I'm sure many will pop in soon to offer words of support. I wish you all the best, I can understand your worry, next pregnancy for us will be after two losses too so we will be extremely nervous as well.

    Hi Sheggles!

October 2008 i had my 3rd time lucky little miracle after 2 miscarriages!
My problem was low progesterone so i had to have progesterone injections for most of my pregnancy! And not a day went by when i wasn't worried or scared!
I know how hard it is to stay positive, but really do try, i think most of the joy and excitment was taken away from me after my 2 miscarriages that i really didnt enjoy my pregnancy and to this day i regret it!
So as hard as it is just try and be happy and relax and enjoy being pregnant!

Miracles do happen and hopefully you will be third time lucky also!

Thank you so much for your replies. It is lovely to feel that support and comforting to know that someone else has experienced the "third time lucky" and that I'm not alone.
Also, Tanya, thank you for the "congrats" as we haven't told anyone about this pregnancy yet - so you are my first congratulations xoxo

    Hi Sheggles.

Congrats on your pregnancy! Wishing a Happy & Healthy 9 months ahead!

I've lost 4 precious babies, and now have a little boy who will be 1 on wednesday, so there is definately hope! Try to relax a bit, pamper yourself and do something that will take your mind off worrying all the time, it will make the weeks just fly by!

    congratulations on your pregnancy hun.

Its a very scary thing to go through and sadly all too common. Its hard to do but try to relax and keep positive that you will hold a baby in your arms. As i type this i am holding my little baby after 2 m/c and a preterm loss, she even threatened to m/c twice in the first tri so i can really understand how you feel so scared.

keep believing hun all will work out for you, just as its meant to.

    luv nae x x

    Hey sheggles

I'm currently preg after losing 5bubs (4 m/c). The fear doesn't ever really stop although it lessons dramically. I'm now feeling Zen move and its always amazing. I can only say to you what i constantly told myself - relax and just enjoy it!

You may not realise - your bubs brain is forming, any time now thier heartbeat is detectable on an ultrasound! You now have a beautiful little being growing in you that needs/wants you to be positive and shower it in your love.

I wish you all the best. If you haven't yet you should look at joining a belly due group. it will be other mummies due in the same two week period you are. It's great for learning stuff and asking weird questions

    xo good luck

    Hi Sheggles,

Fristly, congrats on your pg and welcome to BB!! It's unfortunate that you have joined for such a sad reason, but you will find support and some great information here, well I know I did anyway!!

I have also had two miscarriages. It is the hardest thing to be pg after loss. I had bleeding and cramping with my DD's pg (my 3rd pg) like with my first two and I was absolutely terrorfied of losing her. I was constantly checking my knickers, lol! But we got through it and today she is a very boisterous and happy almost 3yr old (my oh my where has time gone??!!). My 4th pg with my DS was unexpected, but was problem free. I still worried about it even though I did not have a cramp or any sign of bleeding or problems.

Good luck hun. I hope this pg is trouble free and you can relax and enjoy it soon.

Sheggles - congrats girl. Now the hard journey ahead.

I can't give you a story with a happy ending yet, mine is still a work in progress. I'd say that fear and trepidation are going to be your companions throughout your pregnancy, and the real task for you is how you manage your feelings. I think that we have a choice as to what aspects of the pregnancy we focus on.

My way? To really be as grateful as I can be for each moment in the pregnancy, and try to enjoy it. It seemed to work for me for pregnancy #3. Like TinaR said - you have the miracle of a new life, and to me that is just truly amazing. It's not a fail safe approach - I had days that were just torture and I was so scared, but when I think back, I remember more good days where I was just felt so blessed to be pregnant. I suppose its a bit like that serenity prayer - grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can..... and the wisdom to know the difference

The other thing - try and surround yourself with people you trust, and people who will support you - friends, family, BB, your doctor. This journey is far to difficult to try to manage on your own.

Good luck girl, you will find your own way. I am pretty excited for you, and have my fingers crossed.
