Hello ladies,
I just thought i'd let you guys know my story at the age of 30 I suddenly realised that time was slipping away and wondered if indeed I really wanted kids. Me and my partner decided to stop using contraception and see how things went. To our amazement I fell preg almost immediately, I was scared to death at the thought of what we'd let ourselves in for. My pregnancy was a good one, I bloomed all the way through and thoroughly enjoyed it. 9 and a half months later our son was born weighing in at 8lb 2oz, I vowed I would not have another child due to a very distressing time giving birth. But 2 years later I yearned for another baby to mother, we started trying again for another. 6 months later I fell preg, we were overjoyed and soo happy. But unfortunately the fetus didn't make it past 7 weeks and died, we were totally devastated. We carried on trying for another, but this time it took 12 months to conceive and I lost another at 6 weeks. By this time I was 35 and my OH was 40, I was starting to think that it would never happen for us. But we carried on trying, we had discussed the option of going for fertility treatment, but I was adamant that I was not going to put myself or our relationship through the hardship and possible disappointment that could come. 12 months later, still no sign of a baby, I had just about given up, I stopped writing down my period dates and checking ovulation dates etc, then bang I found myself pregnant again. I am very pleased to say that I am now 9 weeks pg with twins, so far things seem to be going ok, I am getting a lot of morning sickness, which can only be a good thing. I still check myself after urinating and dread the sight of seeing blood. We have all fingers and toes crossed that this pg is going to go well, I am now 36 and can't afford the time to lose another pg.
I just thought I'd share my story with all you fabulous women that have had miscarriages, as my story does offer a glimmer of hope to all of you. I wish each and everyone of you all the best in the world and may you have many babies in the future!!!;)

I have really missed you all and have now had a chance to catch up with what is happening. My love as always to you and wishing you a particularly special 2009.
I also want to sincerely thank you each and every one for your congratulations and best wishes leading up to and also after the arrival of my long-awaited baby, April. She is such a beautiful and easygoing little girl and I am blessed to have her. She is so worth the wait and I urge each of you never to give up your dreams of having a child if you possibly can. The end certainly justifies the means - with all due respect to our angels above who I am sure are sending positive vibes for our earth angels to safely arrive in our arms.
I also want to thank a number of you who have travelled with me on my journey from when I was so desperately TTC. I especially couldn't have made it without your guidance, love and support - I am always going to be there to return same to each of you.
:grouphug:
ps. I will put some photos in the gallery as soon as I can - I promise.
ETA: Thankyou kezzabird for sharing your experience and wish you every happiness while you grow your beautiful twins.

WTH--Thanks! Hopefully you're keeping better track of my chart than I am, seeing as I somehow lost my thermometer in my bed this am!! When I woke up at 5:15 to take my temp, I stuck the thermometer down my sleeve... big mistake... when I got up it was gone! I can't even enter in my temp yet for today since DF's still asleep! At least I know it's somewhere in my bed, but I could barely sleep after I lost it, and I kept trying to feel for it without waking DF up! :wall: If only you could tell me what my temp was this morning!
Ruthie--I wish I knew what to say to help you get thru this! No congrats yet, as per your request, but keeping my faith and saying lots of  for you that everything gets worked out!
Kezzabird--Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us! It certainly gives us all that glimmer of hope! *hugs* Sending lots of bellyrubs and :stickyvibesgirl: for those little twins of yours!!
plc--Thanks for being such a huge support for all of us TTC!! You always have just the right things to say to make everyone feel loved and supported! Thanks again for the great pics--I love them! Big smooches for April from Auntie jen jen!

Ruthie - I can understand your confusion. I agree with WTH...test again in a couple of days and then visit your doctor for confirmation. Big  hun, take care of yourself.
WTH - :hello: back at ya!
Lisa - Your symptoms sound promising even if you have had bad luck with HPTs. :crossfingers: you get a BFP soon.
Kezzabird - :welcome: I'm so sorry for your losses, but thankyou so much for sharing your story with us. Congratulations on your pregnancy! And with twins! I  you have a happy and healthy 9 months.
plc - Thanks for taking the time to pop in and wish us well. You're a wonderful support and offer hope to all of us TTC! Big  to you and April.
jen - Thats too bad you lost your thermometer. Maybe its a sign that you are pregnant and don't need to temp anymore. Sending lots of :bluedust: and :noaf: to you.
AFM - Thankyou all for your positive wishes. AF is now 3 days late so maybe Friday was too early to test (I thought I might at least get a faint line). Friday was just a bad day because I had a severe headache that made it hard to cope with anything. I still don't have any symptoms either way. I'll just have to wait and see.

HannahD Im praying AF stays away from you!

Hi ladies,
Back from my trip away so time to catch up on some persies!
HannahD - :noaf: I so hope that AF stays away and you get a BFP to start off the new year. I really hope you tested too early. AF being 3 days late is a good sign! I wouldn't take no symptoms as a bad thing, there have been months where I have had so many pg symptoms and have been convinced I am pg but then AF arrives! :goodluck:
Kezzabird - Thanks so much for sharing your story. I am sorry for your losses but wish you a H&H pg - and twins - wow! Good to see another Tassie girl on this thread! At least our summer seems to be starting at last!
Ruthie - Sorry you seem to be so confused and worried. I  you get the outcome you wish for.
plc - Thanks for popping in. So glad to hear everything is going well. You give me hope and I vow never to give up!
Acria - Goodluck, I hope AF stays away! Hopefully the spotting was an implantation bleed!
Chappas - Don't think we have met yet. :hello:
erybery - I hope AF has showed up!
Big :hello: to jen, babymiracles, WTH, mollycat, megsmum, smi, possums, polly, buliej, issy, mannie, tam and everyone else I may have missed.
AFM - Well, had a great few days away (have to go back to work tomorrow - argh!). It was nice to go and escape for a while. Came back on Friday for another blood test to see if I o this month, we'll see. DH and I have to go back this week for chromosone testing so fingers crossed all is ok. Will get the results at our next FS appointment on the 15th. Weighing up whether or not to have the lap surgery in February or to keep trying for a couple of months. Going to Melbourne for a wedding in early Feb and then twice in March so wondering if I should wait until after then.
I would prefer not to have it done but at the same time I want to know if something is wrong to we can fix it and don't waste more time! Might have another talk to the FS about it. Had anyone had it done and was it worthwhile?
Now in the TWW and I have lost some of my zen :( Got sore bbs again but that means nothing as I had it last cycle and AF still arrived. I am hoping it means my hormones are heightened which might increase our chances.
Sticky vibes to all those pg ladies and babydust to all of us TTC. I  2009 is the year for us all!
-
Thanks ladies for all the good wishes, so far so good, still keeping everything crossed it goes well. I have my second scan on Tuesday, this is to check they are not conjoined, as it wasn't apparent on the first scan.
Hi Mel, glad I'm not the only Tassie lady on here. I have to say I'm finding it very difficult to find twin side by side Buggy's here, the shops just don't seem to stock them. I am having to resort to online shopping, but would really like to see and test it before I buy. Where abouts R U, up North/South? I have an appointment with the midwife on Wed, she's going to give me tour of the Royal Hobart and introduce me to the obstetricians etc. So are you trying to conceive along with the rest of the ladies on here? Sorry if I sound nosey, just finding my way around this site and getting to know people.

I knew it...after eyeing up the belly buddies forums for the first two weeks of September for days, I finally worked up the courage to post a quick hello there. I was worried about jinxing myself, but my body has given me unmistakable signs for days and AF is never late, and I mean NEVER. She's now 3 days late, I post on the belly buddies thread, and within a couple of hours I am having slightly bloody mucus.
I know I could still be pg, but as I'm sure you all know, any sight of blood and immediately I feel that all is over and I was fooling myself and being silly.
I really thought this time there was no way I could be wrong. AF is 3 days late, my areolas are large and my breasts hurt, and they're SHINY! Everything tastes off, I'm incessently thirsty and needing to pee..how can I not be pregnant?
Please forgive the rant...

Oh Acria, I so hope you are pg, it could be just old blood from your previous period. But then again Mother nature has fooled many of us before, including myself. You certainly have all the symptoms of an early pg, I have everything crossed for you hun.
-
Awww Lisa, I so hope that AF stays away and you are pg. :bluedust::pink-babydust: It could just be an implantation bleed. Our bodies can be so cruel at times, fooling us with symptoms. I have given myself false hope on many occasions only to be shattered when AF arrives. Don't give yourself a hard time, there is nothing wrong with having hope, without it we have nothing to look forward to :). Just remember it's not over until AF shows :crossfingers::noaf:
Kezzabird - I am in the North (Launceston). You are not being nosey at all, I don't mind sharing my story (it is hard trying to get to know everyone when you first join). DH and I have been married just over 2 years and we started trying in August 2007. We fell pg on the 2nd cycle but unfortunately I m/c at 6 weeks. My cycle returned to normal straight away (physically fine, but emotionally was another story) and we started TTC on my next cycle and have been ever since. 14 months later and still no success :( Been seeing a FS since Nov and have had a few tests and at this stage everything appears to be in working order with me and DH. Might have to have an operation to check for endometritis in Feb but undecided on that at the moment. Feeling a little disillusioned with it all so I have stopped temping and noting my cycle in the hope that I will stress less about it and it will happen naturally. My best friend calls it me trying to be zen - lol. I do really well until the TWW arrives :wall:
Anyway, thanks again for sharing your story. You have given me renewed hope and I wish you all the luck in the world for a healthy and happy pregnancy. :)
-
Mel, I know this is easier said than done, but getting into Zen mode is definitely what you need right now. You are only 29 you have plenty of time to fall pregnant, it will happen it's just a matter of time and probably when you least expect it. You probably need to focus on something else and stop thinking about it all the time. Again easier said than done, been there done that. Maybe start a new project to focus on and take your mind off things.
I wish you loads of luck getting that elusive bun in the oven girly ;)
-
Thanks Kezzabird. I forgot to mention about the buggy's. I haven't done any research as I never got that far but I have heard Stork Talk in Devonport are quite good, not sure if they would stock any but it is worth a try. We also have Babyland in Launceston, not sure if you have that store in Hobart?
-
Ruthie - everything works out for you
Acria- Really hope it could be implantation bleeding
Kezzabird - Thankyou for sharing your story with us it has given me a little hope. Hoping everything goes really well for you
Plc - So happy for you
HannahD - Hope af stays away
Mel1979 - :hello: nice to meet you
AFM- Thinking of maybe seeing our doctor as we have been ttc for nearly 12 months since our second m/c. Cycles are all over the place too

Happy New Year
Hi girls
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL
I have been away with DP for a few days, we went to Hervey Bay. It was nice to get away from the Gold Coast for a few days.
I will have to catch up on everyone's news as I have only just got back and wanted to wish everyone for 2009. I know it has to be a great year for all of us.
I also wanted to share some news with you all. DP and I got engaged! So now I can call him DF!!!! Now I know 2009 is going to be a wonderful year.
I will read all the news I have missed and get back to you all later. Hope you are all having a wonderful day!!

Zachary's Mom - Congratulations on your engagement! That's wonderful news and thankyou for sharing it with us :) How did he propose? Or did you propose!
chappas - seeing a Dr or FS might not be a bad idea, just to let your Dr know what's happening, and about your cycles. They may have some advice.
Kezza - I should have mentioned it earlier and I feel terrible that I didn't, but thankyou for sharing your story with us :) It's always good to hear the success stories, and to have more lovely ladies like yourself here.
AFM - Well, the pink has developed into a red, constant bleed. Still no cramps, and it's not heavy like a period, but I'm starting to feel like it's only a matter of time. I'm trying to hang onto a tiny bit of hope, and might get a HPT this afternoon, but I do feel like this cycle is over, and whatever happened..it over, and I need to look to the next cycle now. BBs are still tender..but I'm choosing to ignore whatever my body tells me, as clearly she is trying to screw me around. Hmph!
Off to see a friend with her two little boys, and now 3 or 4 months pg again...note to self: be strong.
