Trying to Conceive After Miscarriage or Loss April 2010

hi ladies

just thought id pop in and let you know that my appt with my ob/gyn went really well this morning! Seeing the pregnant women in the waiting room didnt even upset me this time, i just felt excited and happy for them!!! anyway we had a good chat, he is so understanding which is such a change from the ob i was seeing last time! So the plan is that im having the 21day blood test and DH is having the semen analysis - poor little love is happy to have it done but he is so nervous... i guess he just never really thought that we would get to this and he is worried!

Doc said that if all this comes back normal and we still haven't conceived by Sept then he will do a laproscopy.... fingers crossed we don't get to that part but just feel happy that he is being proactive and doesn't brush off my concerns and fears. also had a papsmear :o thank god thats over with!! least he managed to get it in, not like my GP last month! he had a medical student with him and she was having a peek up my hoo ha too! :redface: oh deary! ah well, they have to learn somewhere i guess!

dory - how you going sweetness? glad to hear you having a good day today and happy to hear about the choc during pregnancy! im a massive choc freak!!! what is you EDD??

reet - not sure whats happening with your posts?? it has never happened to me b4??

missk - in ref to the choc, my chinese doc told me to avoid during O time and 2ww as its a greasy food and it can cause flemmy build up in the fallopian tubes and can interfere with good implantation! but who knows..?? Slappers seem to drink and smoke and still get pregnant!!! im still having choc - just not as much and when i do have it, i drink hot water or green tea!

ferrals - hi lovey - so happy to see your back on track! missed seeing your name in here! it will be O time b4 you know it and we'll be in the torturous 2ww in no time!

Hiya- OMG T Hopes - I am having a god day to hear from you. So glad the news is positive, and besides what else is a hoo for is not to be looked at?

First of all you reminded me about the dreadful experience you had at the GP ( tighty!!) but which you managed to retell in a very funny way and then you cracked me up with having a "do". My BF says she just lets it all go and she doesn't seem to care about hairy muff( aka wig) but me? I am a bit like you. But what do I do now that I am exposing myself at least fornightly if not weekly( for an internal... not sure if the pap smear or internal without a speculum is worse? ) I will always be at the salon.... maybe I should invest in a good salon quality wax? Could even get much more creative..... and third - the reference to slappers. My words exactly! Sept 23 is the big day, thanks for asking, oh and today is an even better day for having read your posts.

About the dogs? I don't have a specific view -I like most dogs. The only dogs that I don't seem to be able to get a connection with are dobermans, probably because I was bitten as a kid. I used to think of myself as the dog whisperer so a big shock to get bitten. But I was only a little tyke, probably doing something unacceptable to the dog and since then have been a big sook since.

Possum - hang in there girl. And hey - 34 is not that old ok? You'll get there.

Miss K - still thinking of you and hoping you're getting through your appointment ok.

Dory: DONT do it, there are some things that are not worth saving money on and self waxing is one of them. I tried it not long again and it was the funnest, most painful hours of my life and i stopped half way thru! Total crack up!:lol:

Sorry I've been MIA, have been lurking though.
I'm absolutely broke atm, and can't afford to get more internet credit this week, so I've been trying to conserve it, but I had to post today, couldn't resist any longer :)

Dory - 23rd of Sep is my stepsisters birthday. It's a great month all round, lovely spring weather, blue sky, flowers, new green buds on the trees... Such a wonderful time to have a bubba :)

Also, I'll message the ebay store addy to you next tuesday, I've only got the Pandora Style stuff on there at the moment, so I'll put the MadeIt store and my website store in the message as well - I have to add more things onto all three of them anyway lol I'm planning on starting up a blog page at some point as well where I can put pictures of everything I make, even the ones I don't sell, on it as well.

MissK - White & Milk Chocolate is perfectly fine during pregnancy - I don't know what I would have done without it while preg with DS lol It was one of my main cravings - it's the dark chocolate that has to be taken in moderation because of the caffiene. Although, new research says that a 1-3 cups of coffee spread throughout the day while pregnant won't harm the baby and actually helps to reduce fatty deposits in your arteries (eg cholesterol) and caffiene can help to regulate blood pressure when taken in small amounts. Don't quote me on that though, I'm just relaying what I read in a news article.
As for the bleeding, not sure. I suppose we'll all find out on the 16th anyway :)

Bons - My opinion on dogs of those breeds is that how they act depends on how they are raised. A dog that is raised as a guard dog will never be a family pet, and vice versa.
I know how you feel about people saying that your pup will end up attacking someone, we have a rottweiler, and she is the sweetest, most sookiest thing. Thinks she's a lap dog, just can't resist jumping up into our laps and curling up for pats.
Although, we have had one issue with her digging a hole under the fence and killing the neighbours chooks, it was a combination of ours and the neighbours faults - Us for not securing the base of the fence better, and theirs for putting their chooks on the side of their backyard that faces our backyard, where the temptation for eating chooks was constantly there in her face, 24/7. Even the best trained dogs would eventually snap and go for something that they wanted when it is constantly dangled before them. We only know it was partially the neighbours fault as we were babysitting a friends rotti last year (He was tied up on the neighbours side of our backyard, and our girl was tied up on the other side of the yard) and he broke his lead rope and dug under the fence and killed the neighbours chooks then too. But I never trusted that dog, he nearly severed our girls jugular not long afterwards, and was always nipping at my calves and getting into the rodent food & garbage bins when we were watching him.
The neighbours admitted to it, and love our girl as their mother is mostly deaf, but can here our dog bark, and everytime someone goes onto the neighbours property our girl barks and the old lady knows that someone is there (she can't hear her doorbell, and our girl scared off a potential robber last year as well, so they don't want anything to happen to our girl).
Also, the dogs that cause the most attacks are actually small dogs like Pomeranians, ****zu's, Chihuahua's, Foxy's and Terriers.
My opinion is that if your pup is well behaved, and you raise it in a loving environment you will have good dog. Sorry it's very long, but I hope that helps :)

afm - I'm not sure what's going on with me atm. My temp was 36.7 again this morning, I still get queasy, but I still have this horrible flu so all the gunk in my throat is probably making me feel queasy, I know it's made me dry retch a few time.
I'm not backed up anymore though, which is a good thing, (tmi) but my pee has been dark yellow again today.
I've also had a rather painful stinging sensation in my left side since early last night, just inside my hip. Very uncomfortable.
My boobs only just started to really hurt and sting like they normally do last night as well. Normally they start doing that 4-6 days after O. Better late than never I suppose.
I've also been eating like a horse in the evenings, probably because I don't normally eat anything until around 11am, but it's still odd. Not normal anyway.
I have a constant headache and earache - again probably because of this flu.

Anyway, thats all for today, will talk to you all again on Tuesday afternoon when I recharge my internet.

afternoon everyone ,missk-did the results show anything?thinking of you....t-hopes-sounds like your dr has good plan...dory-got to be at hospital at 8.30 for transfer at 9.00.Hope they recieve good news from the lab and it can go ahead.

Quick update: Went to dr's, did POAS test there, nothing came up. Took bloods, have an appointment tomorrow to get results. Feeling very confused and upset. Dr said that the store-bought ones are often more sensitive than his, and the fact that I've had 2 positives sounds good to him. In fact, he wouldn't have even done a test there if I hadn't insisted on it. Sigh. Why does everything have to be so difficult?

Oops - I did another home test (Pregnosis) and it's come up with a faint positive too! So feeling a little better about it but will definitely feel better once the BT comes back positive. :pray:

Thanks for all of your support ladies - my DH is very supportive but I don't think fully understands the total bewilderment, confusion and heartache that goes into this process!

Hey all,

Everything came back clear. All normal. Though the one for the cord hasnt come back yet. She said it can take up to 6 months for that one :( But proberly wont show anything she said. The placenter showed a blood clot but she said that could of happen while i was being induced :( So cant say that was the cause because i was tested for blot clots and it came up normal. I asked her about the xray and got there is no chance that that is the reason. Said people have a ct scan when pregnant which way near the baby were the mouth xray is far. So now forever i will be wondering why my lil man got taken from me and it sucks.

She also took wrote me a referal for a blood test which i had done befor i left to see if i am pregnant. So i will find out tomorrow afternoon. Have to ring up and they will give me the results. Not getting my hopes up. As i havent had a full cycle yet. Its been 8 weeks and ive had one AF next one due next week. She said everyone should wait 3 months. :(

missk-big hugs to you,it is hard to accept that someof us will never know why are babies lives were cut short,i know not having a medical cause written in black & white has been difficult for me but i try to think even if i did ,it wouldn't bring 'matthew' back to life,all we can to is treasure our memories of them,& keep them alive in our hearts until we met again..hope your test comes back with a bfp for a earthly sibling for your little man & help heal your heart a little with hope...

Reet: How frustrating for you. I agree with someone's comment (can't remember whose) about wishing there could be a window that would let you see inside your body to know what exactly's going on! Hope you get some answers soon...a sneaky BFP would be good!

Hi Dory: naaah, i don't think i'm really old. I was just wondering if women's cycles are different in their 30's to their 20's. I'm having wierd O symptoms mid cycle that i never had before...but then again I was on the pill for years and years and then i've had very few periods since i came off it (pregnant, breastfeeding etc) so i'm not sure what 'normal' is. Or maybe it was the mc that mucked things up. Glad to know your due date. I like hearing your updates and knowing you've got another week under your (ever expanding) belt.

I did a pg test last night. But i didnt do it properly. I went to the loo, Than thought i should have done one. So i got it and went back to the loo(silly me) so i just dribbled on it. This morning there is a postive line on there. But im not sure if its accurate as i didnt do enough stuff on it and it was like 10 hours later that i saw it. So it might not be right. Its a faint line but its there but it might not be right so not getting excited. And scared that if i am, i might be heading for the same out come as we didnt wait. Have only had one period and not a full cycle.

Teagm - my cousin got a epilady and decided she would do her underarms.... hah never again she says, I can only imagine the pain.... Ok, think I will not to the home wax thing. I tried those strips once but ineffective, unless I was going for the I have been using drugs ( erratic) look.

Jenna - you poor thing - you just sound so miserable with the flu. I am hoping something else is going on. I was miserable with flu like symptoms before I got my BFP. May just a coincidence? Get better real quick and give your furbaby girl a big pat form me. I love Rotti's. She sounds just gorgeous.

Ami - I use pregnosis and they have worked for me. Can't remember the sensitivty. Good luck for your BT. Time just seems to stand still about now..... am hoping you get the answer you want so badly....

Miss K - glad you got some results back.I agree with Mathew's Mum. I have no answers at all. I am content with that. But what I do have is a lot of "I don't have this or that etc, so that is something. Makes it hard as there is nothing to focus on, but also its good not to have things - like immune problems or clotting problems, or enzyme problems etc. I wouldn't rely on a test result if you are looking at it 10 hours later... if you can afford it, go get another test and put your mind at ease, at least for the moment.

SarahRach - how are you going? Have your feet touched the ground? Is it real yet?

Possum - good to hear you're not feeling old. I have had a wacky cycle and symptoms for as long as I can remember, so am I no help on the differences between the decades.

T hopes - I am trying to think of something funny to say in reply, and have got nothing. De nada. Although with my appointment today, no time to have a do done, so the wig will be wild and wooly.... and OMG I noticed a grey hair in the wig. Blimey, is there no dignity at all? I wanted to pluck it out but realised that is a battle I am destined to lose. Do you reckon you can you colour your wig? I think I have more grey hair in the wig than elsewhere. That is just wrong.

Can't remember who asked about cycles changing but I guess the older you get the more they change, in my 20s and 30s I had a 28day regular as clockwork cycle and sore boobs well they were only present with a BFP as well as plenty of cm before ovulation so planning to get UTD was real easy ! then I got to my late 30s and early 40s and everything changed no more cm longer cycles and sore boobies every month so now its a real guessing game for me anyway as to when and if I ovulate, so I would say yes they change and its a real pain trying to guess what the old body is up to !

Ferrals hi there hope your ok you are keeping me hoping and praying that I have one last chance and good on yay for telling the trolup where to go and keep her legs shut love it ! some just don't deserve kids !
I hope your sleep over went well ! you sure do have a big house but then again we do compaired to what we had in the UK and by the way my new house is coming on bricks all to roof height so can see it growing week by week, gives me something else to focus on. Just a quick question my cbfm is still no change on day 13 but I guess thats to be expected for me where do you get more sticks from as I only have 5 left and guess that won't be enough this cycle I also wonder if it will ever work for me with my hormones all over the place .

afternoon all ,missk-i've heard lots of ladies having healthy preg without waiting,try to focus on those stories which to me points to random chromosone problems.Be looking out for your bt results...afm-went for transfer today,saw the embryo on screen before they inserted it,so that was nice.scientist said 2 maybe 3 embryos will get frozen later today,they'll leave the others till sunday and then asscess them again,so need to have bt on the 20th.It was scary doing a wee when i got home.thanks everyone for your kind thoughts& wishes,going to go sit next to matthew grave now,feeling very emotional...

This dream is sooooo crazy that it sounds like something my 5 yr old would make up ROFL but i guess that is hormones for you!

in my dream Dory had gone into labour and the only person that was there was Murraycod!!
anyway after lots of discussion they decided to do labour in the bath so they didnt have as much mess to clean up (lol) Long story short.... Dory gave birth to a beautiful baby.....

Good luck Matthews Mum, I guess it's another one of those "try not to stress too much" moments that we all get super anxious about!

AFM: Got BT results today - very low amount of bHCG. Like 21. He said that it's indicating that it's VERY early in the pregnancy, but I'm definitely pregnant. He wants me to go back in a week or two to have another BT and double check that they're rising properly. He said that until then, unless I get AF I am to act like I'm pregnant. I'm so happy, but scared at the same time. Is it even worth knowing this early? Thanks for all your support ladies, I think I'll hang out here til I feel it's a bit more definite if that's ok?

AFM - tiny little bit of blood this morning. same as yesterday - 50 cent piece sized. this is the 4th day of "bleeding" If it was by any chance implantation - should it last this long, I have looked at some older posts and some women have implantation last for 5 days like a full AF. Any of you ladies have anything like this before?? I think i'm going insane waiting for another 6 days to test! arghhh.... :wall: kept myself busy yesterday though by shopping :lol: hehe... retail therapy...

Thanks gals! JellyLove, a couple of weeks ago I had some weird bleeding that I thought was just breakthrough after O'ing, but maybe it wasn't? Very weird, what our bodies do to us, it's like a form of torture.

Ami - I know it's so terrible! I'm getting really fed up! Just can't wait to test to see if i am or not... :wall:

Is there a reason you are not going back for bloods in 48 hours, as your HCG levels should be doubling and they should be able to tell by doing a series like that?
