Trying to Conceive After Miscarriage or Loss October 2010

Im glad things are getting back on track with you..

Since my miscarriage, i think i could have possibly had a positive opk 15 days after the d&C (but they say the opks could read wrong due to levels and hormones) and then the next two cycles with the opks i had heaps of neg/positives and was 5days late, then the next one i had no positives opks and 8 days early....and now this cycle i got what seems to be a real dark positive, darker than the control on day 12 i think..

I have been reading a bit about it and it seems the advice is, that its best to bd a few days before o around 3-5, then on o and then a day or two after to be extra sure....apparently its best to make sure you get in baby dancing the couple days before o and defiantly the day before o....i just make sure we start at about day 10 to 17 and normally i would have a 28 day cycle...

Loops, I am so sorry about your BFN :( bummer. It's a good idea to focus on having fun with your DH and to party a little bit. That's what i did after my m/c. I guess that is one of the only positives about the situation. It's ok, i didn't feel like i had upset you but i just didn't think i said the most positive words that i could have so i am sorry about that xx

Hello everyone else.

AFM: I went to the Dr today to have some blood tests to see whether i have ovulated this month. I also had a HCG done even though i did test on Mon and Tues but both were BFN. I would have only been approx 8-11 DPO so it may have been too early to tell hence why i had a blood test. I do feel as though AF is on the way though. I am on CD21 so i don't know why i am feeling pre-mentrual just yet as i usually have a 28 day cycle (but the last two have been 25-29) so WHO KNOWS! I guess all will be revealed at my next Dr appointment on Monday!

Mum2ramone~ Welcome darl, sorry it's not under better circumstances though, I hope you find the friendship and support in here as wonderful as I do and good luck with catching your egg darl, FX. Are you using the urine OPTs? My GP told me to use the urine ones as they are more accurate then the saliva one. If you are using them you O anywhere from 12-48hours after your LH surge. Here's hoping you catch you egg darl and you don't need to worry about AF arriving. And I think you are right your most fertile time is right before you O, when you O and not long after you O depending on how long you egg lasts. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody.....lol....But I think that's right.

Sorry Mum2Romone, i missed your post. I have no idea when the best time to DTD is! I am a bit of a rookie with all this stuff.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH) Surge Day > 20 mIU/ml The LH surge leads to ovulation within 48 hours.
So from ur levels i dont think u were going to O because ur LH hadnt gone up to what they were meant too...hmmm.. but i am definitely no dr!!

This is for progesterone levels-
Follicular phase <1.5ng/ml
Mid-Luteal Phase >15 ng/ml

Thats not very helpful tho! If you could get a bt now it would be good to see what ur progesterone levels are doing.. if u did O they shld be quite high until af arrives and they go down again. But yeah i guess just wait til ur gyno. appointment..im sure they will be a lot more helpful! My dr had no idea really what was going on with my bt's.. as soon as my gyno looked at results tho he knew exactyly where i was in my cycle and knew what needed to be done to hurry things along.. such as taking progesterone tablets.

Sorry i cant help more...waiting is just the worst hey! After my m/c i didnt get af at all.. was still waiting 10 weeks later.. i went thru so many pg tests... but it was just my body being stupid...grrrr!

I used the urine ones, .... I got a second line but not as dark as the control line, but the three days previous nothing, so am I about to ovulate if the line isn't as dark as the control line? Or am I ovulating now, like today since it was two days ago that I got the light positive line,should I test again to make sure it's darker or would that just be a waste, should I just assume, that the test two days ago, means I will definitely be in the next few days so just dtd already lol....

Mum2Ramone~ I'm pretty sure that the test line has to be as dark or darker than the control line to be counted as a +ive OPT I would keep testing until you get both lines coming up dark hun. In saying that keep up the bding just in case you miss it. Good luck.

Minnie~ I thought about it after Reet auggested it to me but I am just going to wait to see my gynae, hoping AF will arrive before then though. I'm feeling really crampy tonight so hopefully she is on her way, FX anyhow. After going to the loo before there was still no sign of her but it just feels like she's gunna burst at any second and come out screaming I AM HERE YOU WANTED ME NOW YOU GOT ME BIG TIME.......lol........I thought today was 6DPO for me but if I O'd the day I think I did I would be 7DPO today not 6 so if I did O I got through the 6th day with out any spotting which is highly unusual for me. And my temp at resting tonight is sky rocketing it's been sitting around the 36.4-36.6 area and tonight it's 36.9-37.2 and I'm not crook like I have been, feeling pretty good today. AntiBiotics have worked wonders on my ear infection they are back to normal again and still have a slightly runny nose and an annoying cough but otherwise I feel heaps better. Before I O my temps are always around the 35.9-36.0 mark. And to top everything off I raced my poor DD into my GP yesterday afternoon with a rocketting temp of 39.5 after giving her a good dose of panadol and she has severe tonsilitus so now DD is on A.B as well. DR said to me yesterday after seeing me on Monday and DD yesterday we must be bred pretty tough as she said I should of been in alot of pain with my ear and DD should of been really really sick with her tonsils but DD was in full chat to the DR about anything and everything. lol.

Ooh clairesmummy! You might be in with a chance of a BFP with your symptoms!

Hope AF is staying away from you darl.......Do I have symptoms??? lol....I haven't been thinking about symptoms at all just praying AF would hurry up and get here so I am in a new cycle before I go to the gynae in just over a week........lol...sad hey while everyones waiting and wanting thier BFP I'm sitting back telling AF to get her butt into gear and pay me a visit.....lol...:D Oh well either way I hope this Gynae can get some answers for me......
FF tells me I am 7DPO today so I have never had an LP longer than 9days so only a few more days to go to see if I start spotting again, my LPs usually on ever 6-7 days by FF longest was 9 and that has only happened once....lol.....
Well I had better go and have something to eat cause if I don't eat I'm gunna feel crook again.....

Mumtoromone...the line has got to be the same as the control line or darker to be positive...even if there is a darkish line its not positive until it matches....you could be gearing up to o....so i would keep testing...just remember too it can take a while for you're body to go back to normal...mines still doing wacky things 4months later

Mum2Romone - An OPK isn't considered + until the line is as dark (or very close to) as the control line. It wouldn't be a waste to test again. I used to keep testing until it went - again to be as accurate as possible. It's a good idea to DTD once the test line appears, and keep going through the + OPK, until it's - again.

Stoked - Your most fertile time is before you O. Once the egg is released, you only have about 24hrs before it's no longer viable and can't be fertilised. (whereas spermies can survive for up to 5 days and 'wait' for the eggie) That's why OPKs are so useful, because you get a heads up before you O. Charting is useful to pinpoint when you actually DID O in hindsight, so using the two together you should be able to get a pretty clear picture. It's all so technical! :)

Man i have had the overwhelming urge to pee all day today..were i am busting!!!!!! I havent drank anything extra............I normally go at every break but i have had to go those times and twice more..and i have only been about an hour ago and i am busting again...WT

I hope this is a good sign and i had this last time!!!!!!!!!! although i am only 2/3dpo....would my uterus start swelling etc if implantation hasnt occured?? or could it be hormones?

Also i have had ovary type pains..a kinda full, dull, niggly type feeling, a little nausea..

What do you think????

Melster- I think it would be a little early yet to be having any symptoms, FX for a BFP for you though.
AFM- Well today is all a little weird for me, twice now I have been on the verge of wanting to be sick them I get this almighty hunger and start shaking a little if I don't eat like straight away. Still no sign of AF arriving no more cramps as yet either.

Clairesmummy.....I had early symptoms with my dd and new straight away when i was pregnant...but whether that was actual pregnancy or just hormones buidling up i am not sure....i have been searching the internet (like normal LOL) and quiet a few have said the same being at 2/3dpo.........or maybe its something completely different and im talking myself into it.....its defiantly not normal for me tho...

Maybe you should do a test again just to be sure!!!!

Melster- I won't be testing again now until before my gynae appointment and that's not until the 8th of November so have plenty of time to see if AF is gunna show or not....lol

Melster - Most likely your peeing would be hormonal... (progesterone perhaps?) I don't think your uterus starts to grow until about 1-2 wks after implantation. HCG isn't produced until implantation has occured also. Still, there are plenty of other hormones which could be having this effect. I think you've got a great chance of being pg (afterall that's the whole concept of TTC lol) Can't wait to find out hehe.

Clairesmummy - Ooohhh..... that sounds really promising! I felt like that early in my pg, and still get that blech feeling if I don't eat as soon as the urge strikes. When are you testing again?? How many DPO would you be if you O'ed late like we thought?

I want to test but haven't been able to go to the toilet yet...sux, more water for me lol

Forshelby- I'm eating again as I type.....lol....I never eat as much as what I have been today although I started getting the sick feeling yesterday if I didnt eat not as bad as today though just like ahh i feel a bit yuck, today I eat then I'm starving again 30mins later if I ignore it I start feeling like I'm really gunna be sick and start getting shakey. Today is 7DPO for me going by FF. I'm pretty sure I did O though the day after I had my last BT. Whixh was the day we actually DTD and also 48hours before then. Don't want to test until close to my gynae appointment and that's on the 8th November. My temp was up again this morning as well so no drop as yet, keep waiting for it to drop to say AF is on the way. :dunno:

Well I tested again and nothing...... Do you think it could be a dud test? I got a light positive on oct 25 th but nothing previous so I thought I was going to ovulate oct 26/27 th. I had ovary pain and cramps on oct 26 so I thought that was it.... We only dtd once.... :( I forgot yesterday to test again but we dtd again last night..... Today , just then I got no second line at all... Does that means it's over?

Do you think we have a chance at all? I heard you were more fertile after a d&c but that could be a myth ;)
Should I bother to test again incase it was a dud test or should I just wait to see if AF comes, not that I know when to expect it......... Any ideas please

Mum2Ramone- You may have missed the surge or you may of got a bit of a rise but have not O'd as yet. Do you take your temp at all, I temp and also do OPKs and it has helped me out alot. If you get your OPKs off of Ebay (they are alot cheaper) I would keep going and see if they stay -ive. But it sounds like you may have already O'd if you experience O pain darl. I hope that helps. And it sounds like you have a good chance darl, I have read alot of success stories about women getting BFPs after a D&C with no AF visits between. My DR told me to wait a few months before TTC again as it would give my body time to heal I had a natural MC though no D&C needed. Not that it helped me in any way at all waiting as I'm still waiting to this day to get a BFP......

Forshelby.....thanks! yeah i have been searching the net and they say unless its implanted..(which i dont think so as i think i might have o'd monday/tuesday) then its most likely something else....so i guess we will just have to wait and see...

Mum2romone.......its real tricky with those test. I found the ebay cheap ones have actually been ok, but i have been testing twice a day so i dont miss the surge.....in a "normal" pattern if you could call it that....it will start of nothing or light, then work its way up to dark then back down again................keep all you're tests in a row so you can see...................if you have drank to much apparently the test come out weaker..same as you're not supposed to use early morning urine either because it can come out positive. Were are you at with you're cycle? you havent had a period yet from you're d&c have you?

Apparently some people will always get a faint line on the test, as you always have some amount of the hormone in you're system thats why they say that you only read a positive as dark or darker than the control line....they say anything else disregard.......if it were me i would keep testing everyday because you dont know were you're cycle is at or when you're going to o...things can be a bit shakey after a d&c........Good luck..i hope you get a line soon

atm......well i cant wait to go home, im so tired i cant keep my eyes open or concentrate...got all these symptoms which i think my body is maybe playing tricks with me....or my mind is anyways lol...........hubby wants to try one last time tonight...LOL...then we will have a rest coz were tired!!!!!!!!!

Whatever will be will be no use in me stressing over things I have no control over what so ever. I will find out one way or the other one day soon. I have begun the count down to see my gynae can't wait for that to happen. One way or the other there will be either AF natural or drug induced or a BFP, which ever occurs first I guess will win this cycle....lol
Can yahs tell I'm over the stress of it all if this cycle has taught me anything at all it's that I really don't have any power what so ever over what will be will be. So here's to sitting back and enjoying the ride so to speak.......

AFM ~ I have BT tomorrow just to make certain its a BFN, even though I have no doubt in my mind it will be neg. But the specialist makes us get one. After that I dont think I'll be on BB as much for a while. We are also getting very busy at work which is when I had been getting on.
I will float around however and check to see how everyone is going. Ill be thinking of you all and wish you every success.

Mum2Romone - It sounds like you may have o'd already. The surge can be quite quick, and missing a day of testing doesn't exactly make it easier for you. If you o'ed on 25/10 unfortunately it's too late to keep trying. You only have a window of 12-24hrs after ovulation to catch the egg, it dies very quickly. The best way to maximise your chances is to BD before you O (which is where the opks come in really handy.. start when you get the faint test lines showing up, or about a week before you O if you know roughly when that should be.) Basically the sperm can survive for up to 5 days waiting for the egg, but the egg just has such a short 'shelf life'. So, you could very well be pg already. If O occured on 25/10 implantation could happen anywhere between 01/11 and 04/11 roughly. I hope all of my rambling made sense of it all. Do you temp? It might be a good idea to start if you don't so you can kind of 'cross check' your OPKs, and figure out if you did indeed O. (3 days in a row of a temp rise indicates O has taken place in hindsight). Good luck!!!!

AFM~ Today I am 8DPO and are you ready for this bit of news I have NEVER got this far after Oing with NO SPOTTING.....:clap: That in itself for me is amazing the longest LP I have had since my MC was 9 days with spotting at 8DPO. But I got to tell you I could of sworn AF was coming this morning just as I got to the horse sale I felt really really wet down there sorry if TMI so raced off to the loo with pad and or tampon ready and nothing but when I wiped (close your eyes and don't read this part if TMI) I had a blob of guey more clear than white icky CM, WTH is that about????? Been feeling wettish down there all day with not alot but some CM same as earlier. Haven't felt as hungry today as yesterday but now I have sat and relaxed i am starting to feel a little light headed and getting the hunger pangs again........I feel like a bottomless pitt atm.....lol....I'm just happy to go this far into my LP with no Spotting at all. Even if AF does arrive it won't really matter as at least now I have a good plan of attack with my upcoming Gynae appointment. So all in all I'm feeling very at ease and very positive about everything in my life right now which really is a wonderful feeling. :dance::leap::dance:

seriously i cant stop peeing...for the last three days i have been going all the time....i almost need to practise my pelvic floor excerises.......there have been a few arrgggggg ummmmm should i say leaky moments.....and my ovaries are hurting.........whats going on....and i just had that shooting type pain up my bits which i got last time........or am i just reading way to much into it....

Oh maybe you O'd earlier than you think and could be symptoms. FX for you. I'm still travelling along here, still no sign of AF no spotting or anything which is weird for me I never get this far in my LP with out spotting.....hooraah for that I say.....lol
