Trying to Conceive after Miscarriage or Loss ~ November 2006 #3

Hi All,
I too have been watching this thread for a couple of months now - so thought it was time I joined!
I had my m/c at almost 12 weeks back in Aug 06 & we have been trying again ever since!
I am currently in the 2WW & like you all am hoping for a Xmas BFP to end the year on a high!
It is such a tough thing that we are all going through - some days I think it is the most difficult thing in the world to fall pregnant & then it seems everyone you know is announcing BFP's. It is so easy for us to build this up in our minds as some big, almost impossible obstacle to overcome but I think sometimes we need to chill, take it easy & we will get our reward in the end!
Anyway, enough already!

Welcome Mummto1 :) Sorry to hear of your loss :( But i hope you can get pg asap!! Or maybe even be pg now! That would be a bonus! I agree we do all get a bit obsessive about the whole ttc thing and bring ourselves down by thinking it will never happen, I am trying to chill this cycle, but it can be hard, esp with O imminent!! :D

Morganj - I think it depends on your situation. Because I had a 'molar pregnancy' it was recommended by my Ob that the levels be monitored until they were low enough for us to ttc again.
With my last m/c I did had a b/t and because it was a v. early one the levels dropped soooo fast! No D & C and levels went to -ive before I knew it. We could ttc right away, which was gr8. I hate the waiting now. Just pray we have success with the next preg now. Its always a nervous time for us girls here!

I just wanted to check with you girls....I started using OPK's last cycle & the test line only ever got as dark as the control line-never darker! From your experiences is this a pretty good indication that I O'd? Also, I find I never have much EWCM & when I do it is usually a day or 2 before the OPK+. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello to the newbies that have joined in the last few days. I'm sorry to hear of your losses and really wish you didn't have to be here, but you're more than welcome to join our little group.

It's just a quickie this morning coz....

I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW!!!!!!!

Yay...i saw an ad in yesterdays paper and sent off an email just after lunch yesterday to get some more info, and i reckon within 10 mins they had tracked down my phone number (this wasn't in the email) and we had a bit of a chat. She said that i sounded like someone that they would definately want to talk to. It would involve doing every second Saturday, which i said isn't really an issue, but was something i didn't want to do (work weekends - and i gave my reasons), but she said to email off my resume and have a think about it, talk it over with DH and let her know what we want to do. Anyway, i gave DH a call and he said to go for it, so i sent off my resume, gave her a call to tell her i would apply and she said that she had just got my email and would be in contact. She rang back about an hour or so later and asked me to come in today for a 'chat'.....i'm a bit excited. It's later on this arvo, so i'll let you all know how i go. OOOhhhh i hope i don't jinx myself because i'm getting excited....Wish me luck girls..xxx

Well I got a temp rise this morning so am hoping I O'd yesterday (had loads of cm so it would make sense)!! Finally!!!

OK I officially cannot keep up in here anymore! I will still keep checking in on you all though!

I have my second scan tomorrow so i am nervous again! Had a big cry on sat night cos i was just fed up with all the stressing and worry, had the usual sob to DH of "I cant do this anymore!!!" I hope that doesn't sound selfish, i am just upset i am stripped of all the fun!!

Thanks guys for all the 'good luck' wishes......I just got home and i'm in two minds. The interview was fine, asked a lot of questions ie. what they think i would bring to the company, why I applied, why that industry, etc etc, and i just felt that i was lying to them.....well moreso, just trying to convince myself that i actually want that job.

It's an industry that i know and have had pretty much all of my work history in, but those questions just made me question myself as to whether i actually want to be in that industry at all anymore....

I always said that when we moved here i'd get a job in Coles or Big W or something like that, that is stress free and pretty cruisy so that we can still have TTC as our main focus, but DH is desperate for me to be working and now i don't know what to do. It would be a great job......but do i want the pressure??? and deep down, I'm really having doubts, so is my sub conciousness trying to tell me something... Someone help me please, I need some words of wisdom from you girls...xxx

Shan - Maybe being in a busy job might help keep your mind occupied! I find that I think about ttc way too much now I've moved over to this slow boring job that I've had for the last year. I miss the excitement of my old busy stressful job to be honest. Good luck with making a decision. Do you think they are keen? Would it involve long long hours?

Well for this is the week of lots and lots bd'ing!! I brought some pre-seed stuff of lullaby conceptions has anyone else used this? It is meant to be a good sperm friendly lubricant. As last month we sometimes used a normal lubricant which can act a barrier for the spermes (I didn't realise :doh: ).

Sounds like there's been a shagathon going on at some of your places!!! I can't wait to hear about your XMAS BFP's-- I just know there's going to be some!!
I've been very slack in posting and keeping up with all of you gorgeous ladies. But I have still been checking in on you every day. I've had contiual brown spotting for the past two weeks now and it is definitely doing my head in, as you can imagine. As you know the scan last friday was positive so I'm trying to focus on that. Last night though I actually passed a small clot bout the size of a little finger nail and I thought that was IT! But the spotting seems to have really eased now (touch wood) and I'm hoping it stays that way. I have another ob/gyn appmnt on Tuesday so I'll beg him to do another scan-- I'm already feeling very anxious about it and half expect to see an empty sac or something equally distressing. ANYHOO I hat being such a negative nancy but it's mighty hard not to be after what has gone before.
Shan-- Great news on the job! Maybe this job came your way for a reason? And you know the old saying about concieving the minute you stop thinking about it!! It might take the stress out of it if you have other things to think about and challenges to overcome. Plus you've lost nothing if you give it a go and then decide it really isn't for you. You can always leave- there's nothing stopping you.
Megan-- Have fun tomorrow. Try to enjoy it as much as you can!! I'm so jealous. I really wish someone could just knock me out until I was about 13 weeks!
Lisa-- What did your np say about your lovely ovaries?? Are they cooperating?
Kez-- Hubby must be excited about what you've got in store for him! He won't know what's hit him. I remember when we first started TTC my DH said "I hope it doesn't work first time around"-- he was too focussed on the shagging!! I'll bet he'd take it back now. I know the last couple of times he was like "are we seriously doing it again tonight?" He started to call it "downloading"!! On a different note, how are your pups going? Stelly is runniong around like a complete pork chop now and has just got the full nod from the specialist in Brisvegas. The plate can stay in her little leg too they said- you can actually feel it through her skin-- eewww!

Good morning :D I had a sleep in this morning, a much needed one. I went to see Elton John in Sydney last night and we didn't get home until 1:30 (getting out of the entertainment centre carpark, what a nightmare!) - brilliant concert though. Fortunately, today there's industrial action over the new IR laws and the school's shut until lunch. Feel a bit guilty about not getting to a meeting, but certainly support the protest. Other news is that I finally got into the dentist yesterday straight after school and I have an abscessed tooth - a back molar that I can't afford to lose so now I'm on antibiotics with an appointment to see an endodontist in two weeks. And I think I O'd on Monday or Tuesday, because I got a +OPK but my temperatures are still zigzagging so FF doesn't think I have. Oh well.
Mummyto1, re: your question about OPKs, the only positive one I had before m/c was the cycle I got pg and it was really, really dark and the following day's OPK was still pretty dark, but not as dark as the control line. This week's was only just as dark as the control line and registered next to nothing on the days either side. If I have O'd, it's very late. So I strongly suspect AF is just days away.
Hi, Belinda! Yes, it's good to see a familiar face but I wish with all my heart that we were both still in the June 1-15 belly buddies thread. Maybe we will graduate out of here at the same time, that would be wonderful.
Shan, the job opportunity sounds like an interesting conundrum! Hope you're successful, you could always decide later if you want to keep going with it. As my DP has pointed out to me in the past, slavery has been abolished!

Chepie, the pre-seed is excellent. I had success first time I used it. And I used it again on Sunday, so :crossfingers: :shhh: it's worked this time, too.

i just got back from the IR rallie in Melbourne - it was great and there was a cast of thousands.

Not much to report - went to see the NP last night and she said I had ovulated and now its just a waiting game, although Im not too confident and she did mutter something about xmas, but she did say it was very close now and my body is in perfect balance and ready to carry a bub.

I've been MIA for so long but think it's time i posted I am still having ups and downs- well after my miscarriage in oct i had a natural 31 day cycle :eek: so this month i am back on the clomid though and am on day 20. I think i o'ed on day 16-17 but htis month i have had no ewcm to speak of and my pre-seed only arrived last night so i think we've missed the boat this month :crying:

The month i conceived i felt a massive O pain adn had ewcm - so i just feel i'm out of the running and am devastated. i would so love a chrismans baby,

Dh was like how do you know i and said " i just do" it's so different from the month i concieved :crying:

Hi Princess....it's hard to tell considering that you've missed a heap of temps, but i noticed that you had a +ive OPK (or did you put that in to get the coverline????). If it was a true OPK, then i'd take that as your O day. Other than that, I don't really know....sorry....hopefully someone else can help you out a bit.

Princess - I've always O'd around CD18/19 on Clomid too. Looking at your chart, you had a good temp rise around that time. And a +opk which could be for before, during, after O time. I'd say you are still in with a good chance, and not to give up yet *hugs*. If only we could find out instantly, life would be so much easier :)

Shan - IKWYM about the job front but I suppose its about choosing the lesser of two evils. On one hand its great to be busy to help keep your mind off things and on the other it can be a bit stressful and combined with the stress of ttc it can all get too much sometimes, but then with a job at coles or somewhere you will no doubt get bored and the motonony can easily bring you down and give you so much more time to ponder ttc and it could inturn make you more crazy (not that I think your crazy - its just a figure of speech). So its a matter of deciding what is right for you at this time in your life. Trust your instincts and im sure you will make the right choice.

Megan - any news honey on your scan??

Belinda - how are you going sweets? Is your cycle behaving?

Princess - hi sweety... i dont chart hun so i cant really give you advice on your chart, but I will pray that you caught that little eggy this month :)

Well, I think we've missed the googie this month - or it's still yet to happen - I have no idea where I'm at. This is what I posted in another thread, but maybe someone in here can help me. I was CD12 yesterday - the day I've always assumed I O on. Did OPK CD10, 11, 12 & today, all negative. But day before yesterday (CD11) I had lots of EWCM. So what does this all mean? If OPK had showed positive on CD9 (when I didn't test) would it still be + the next day? Or did I just miss it? How long does it read + for? Does EWCM happen before, during or after O?

Shan - g'luck with the job. I suppose with you not knowing if you really want it or not means you won't fret about it over the weekend & you can leave it in the hands of fate - if you're meant to be doing it, you'll get it, if not, something else is meant for you.

Thanks for the advice re: the OPK's - why are our bodies so difficult to read? I guess there is only 1 way to know for sure if I O'd & that's a BFP! With my first baby it took 2 years to conceive & I was on my fourth round of clomid. I had a laparoscopy booked in for the monday & found out I was pregnant the friday before - phew! For all of you on clomid... have hope! This time though (resulting in m/c) it took only 3 months for me to conceive & I was b/feeding! Who can tell hey!?! Enough, just giving you some history...

Shan - do what feels right about the job - go with your gut instinct
Princess - have no idea about charting so am no good to you either.
So.....is anybody testing soon? It was always good to read about a BFP when I was just a stalker - really lifted the spirits!

Well I thought I'd O'd earlier this week - had all the signs of cm and o pain - but my temps are like the rocky mountains so have no idea what's going on. So frustrating. It's eight weeks today since we found out we'd had a missed m/c . I would have been 19 weeks. Anyway, have to stop thinking like that.

Hindonly - I think the two lines can show up two to three days before O - so keep bd'ing until up to and beyond CD13 perhaps - just in case. Fingers crossed for you.

Tanya - fingers crossed!! Great news about your temp rise!

Shan - the job sounds great - good luck for Monday!!

Princess - when I used OPKs they would never be as dark as the control line - but we bd'd anyway and that was the month I fell pg.

No time for personals as we are frantically packing boxes and looking for houses to buy. Sam had a fantastic birthday and is well and truly a 3 year old. Thanks for your well wishes. Still in the TWW. Not sure what is going on. I don't feel preg but I don't feel like AF is coming either. Having a zillion things to do has helped heaps and I am not too fussed as maybe I need to have a break over the school holidays without being sick IYKWIM. I have my FS appointment on Monday so if things don't happen this month then hopefully a bit of clomid will do the trick. A big :grouphug: to everyone and the newbies. I am sure we will get some BFP's in before christmas. Keep happy and safe.
