Trying to Conceive after Miscarriage or Loss ~ September 2008

morning all,

Am feeling very sore from my aeorobics workout this morning, my second day at this and trying to lose some weight before attempting another pregnancy, so far so good, though I must admit am craving macca's and Kfc and just all the bad food,because Im trying to eat all the good food!!! LOL now just need to buy a scale....

Have stopped bleeding now, just a little spotting but feeling a whole lot better and hcg levels stabislised and dropping, was a bit scary there with all that blood but now am glad its all over and can start again (after the weight loss)...

Just wanted to drop in as Im sooo not motivated to be at work today and say Goodluck Ruthie for Wednesday Im praying for you and your bubbby....all will be well positive thinking!!! hey Jen805 thanks for the stickyvibes right back at you!!! Toccara - my prayers are with you as well and Babyfever goodluck with the IVF my colleague here at work tells me all about it, she's on her 4th attempt and my girlfriend who was on it for 2years and she had 3 attempts, 4th attempt she fell pregnant and has a beautiful baby boy called Oliver who I got to cuddle up to yesterday it was just what I needed! Now her husband had leukemia as a teenager he beat it and was sterile for a longtime, when he met and married this girl they tried IVF (he is 39 and she 39 also) and he found he had sperm!! he cried and cried so if it worked for them it can work for anyone miracles do happen you just have to believe...so Goodluck!!! sticky vibes and babydust and lots of prayers.....

Chappas - Thanks! I wasn't sure at first with the cheapy one, but had an inkly I could see something before the time limit was up, so tore open the box to the first response test, lol! I love first response, the lines are always extrememly noticeable even at low levels.

Jenushka - The ticker is gorgeous. I bet it'll stick "tick" over at the wrong time of day for you like mine though :ROFL:

Larz - Thank you. I was like you with my m/s last pregnancy with my angel. 24/7 nausea, but couldn't vomit! Hopefully it'll be easier to cope with this time round because I'll be at home and not in a foreign country. I was in Vietnam on my honeymoon last time!

Katiegirl - What a sweetheart you are! Thank you so much! I missed out on your time here in this thread, but some of the other girls have the nicest things to say about you, so it makes me a little jealous that I never got to know you ;) You must be so excited about the birth of you baby. It's getting so close now!!!

OK, as for me, I'm feeling a little foolish after my total freak out yesterday :o My temp jumped right up again today and there is no sign of AF. My DH said I was a "silly little monkey" :ROFL: But then he said it's not really my fault, it was "little chyan's" fault. Lol, that's what we've nicknamed the baby. But as pretty as it looks, we pronounce it "choong" :ROFL: I had a client at work with a cat called "Lemon Chyan" and when I asked how it was pronounce (thinking it was going to be pretty) she said what we think was "choong", lol. Then she explained that in Japan if you have a very close friend then you add that to the end of their name. So it would be "Jen Chyan" and "Angel Chyan" for example. Since then, my friend that I work with and me have always called each other Choong! And now there is a little choong!

Anyway, that was a long rambling story hehe. I'm going to ring my ob now (and he better answer today) to get my BT results. Then I better get ready for my acupuncture and gp appointments.

I just wanted to add... during my foolishness yesterday I was remembering how amazing you all are and how supportive and loving each and every one of you are. You should all be proud of yourselves! :grouphug:

117! My hcg level from yesterday was 117! I'm pretty happy with that! I go back again on thursday for more bloods :)

larz - Oh I remember that feeling, I had 8 weeks of it when I was pg with DD. Never puked once, but felt like I was going to all the time! Hope it gets better for you soon.

Babyfever - Good luck this month! You know with the HCG injection that it hurts a lot less if you take it out of the fridge for about 10 mins or so before you use it, and inject it really slowly? That's how I've been doing mine and they don't hurt much at all - HTH

Joey - OMG, at least the police caught them! You DH was on the ball wasn't he? LOL at getting the three hours sleep, that's dedication for you ;)

:hello: to anyone else that I have missed.

AFM, just snorting my Synarel still and hoping that AF shows up tomorrow so that I can start injections this Thurs instead of having to wait until next Thurs, although I'm sure she won't. My clinic have this thing with IVF where they get everyone to start injections on a Thurs and if AF doesn't arrive in time, then you have to wait until the next Thurs. I'm sure that's what will happen to me, so a bit more waiting still before we get the show fully on the road, oh well....bring on the 18th! And the other bummer about it it is that my embryo transfer will be (if all goes to plan) around about the 1st anniversary of my last mc - 2nd Oct. Don't know whether that's a good sign or a bad sign :( a little ironic at the very least I think??

joey--OMG! Sorry to hear about the break-in!! :o How scary! Lucky your DH doesn't wear ear plugs like my DF!! Just had to LOL at needing 3 hours of sleep to temp... sounds just like me! I won't even get up to use the loo if it's after 2, cuz I always wake up at 5:30, and I don't want to ruin my temp! Addicted much??? :lol:

Also, I didn't give myself the injection the Nurse at the office did it shes like you cant give it to yourself and gave me dirty look. But untill I can see the dr again I'm pretty sure they will start to letting me do it. It took me 3 hours just to find the HCG injection because theres supposavly an world wide shortage on it, And I guess normal pharmacys dont have em here so I had to go to an differant hospital pharmacy then mine cuz she was all out and finally this place had it. So, The injection wasnt cold at all. I was rushing all over town just to find it and I was driving on a flat tire too!! I got luck to be home safe..

Jen - :lol: I sound like I am don't I? The things we do to get pg!! You know if someone had told me 4 years ago that I'd be here doing IVF I would have laughed at them. We never had any trouble conceiving DD - dare I say we were a little bit smug about how easily she was conceived :redface: I even remember saying a couple of years ago that if we had trouble conceiving our second that I wouldn't do IVF, I'd just be happy with what I have. Of course I'm eternally grateful for having my DD, but I just so want her to have a little sister or brother. I really hope that your angel and my angel are watching over us this month :pray:

Babyfever - Oh my clinic is not too bad :) Your nurse sounds a bit scary though! They're funny some of them about you doing it yourself, at least my clinic actually encourage you to give yourself your own injections. And I bet she didn't inject it slowly either! Haven't heard anything about the HCG shortage, I just get mine off the clinic, so don't have to run around like you have had to. But glad that you got it alright in the end and got home safe after that flat tyre.

KL - Excellent HCG numbers!! Love the name too :) I hope you've lost that thermometer now ;) Get your DH to take it and hide it somewhere you can't find it!

me, i have my iui procedure this wednesday, last night i had dh inject me as i couldnt do it myself - chicken - had my eyes shut & was squeeling like a baby! but then it was over & wasnt as bad as i'd imagined it to be.

my dh had his sperm tested & it turned out he had very low normal sperm. the average was 15% & his was only 5%. disappointing. we (esp. him) never thought he'd have a problem. kept telling him to stop having hot baths as i'd heard it damages sperm - he's had baths since he was born & both his parents like baths too so it's hard to kick it, so now at least he knows so he'll keep the bath water lukewarm. I just hope theres no other probs with us.

anywho! will be back on wednesday after the iui...

before i go: angel: can i ask where you are having your iui done? im having mine done at city fertility centre. is this your first iui & how was it?

Vanaithi.....I am "expecting" AF today or tomorrow. If she doesnt arrive...then YAAAAAAAAAAAAA... if she does.... then my IUI begins. From day 2 of AF i will start Clomid. I am on that for 5 days and then Hubby will have to give me my needle... i m a big woose too.... then 2 days later he goes early in the morning with his swimmers, they are cleaned up and then returned to the FS and then up up and away with the turkey baster. The theroy being... if DH s swimmers dont know their freestyle from their backstroke and their doggy paddle... the turkey baster puts them all around the lovely little eggie.... maybe one will accidentally bump into eggie and away we go.......

I m having it done with Terry Shean at North West Private in Brisbane.

Megsmum - Thanks I hope the nausea stops soon, really can't handle it. Finding it really hard to take all my vitamins and can hardly even look at my herbs.


Jen - Lemon didn't work, my poor husband is doing everything around the house. As soon as I get home from work I head straight too bed. No energy what so ever:wall:

I have just gone to the loo and there is blood, not a whole lot, but it is fresh. I don't think you can have an implantation bleed at 5 weeks can you? I don't think this bubba is going to stick. I feel a bit lost. I haven't even been to my doctor yet and virtually no one knows I'm pregnant. I don't know what to do.

thanks for all the warm welcomes.
I've just come back from my appointment with my gp to follow up on my m/c 2 weeks ago.
She has suggested that we wait at least another month before trying again! Is she serious??
DH and I have been getting pretty jiggy with it the last few days. :) I didnt need a D&C as i had a complete miscarriage so i didnt there was a big deal in waiting.. It's not like i am in any pain or have any bleeding or anything..
Any advice ladies?

this must be a stressful time for you.
try and stay positive and think sticky thoughts. i know that is hard to do when you are so scared.
some women have bright red bleeds and everything is ok.. so this is not necessarily a bad sign..
the best thing to do is stay calm and positive (easier said than done).
you could try seeing a gp if u r really concerned or perhaps go to your local ED. At least they could do a serum hCG and perhaps a transvag US or pelvic exam to see if ur cervix is open.

Am feeling so scared at the moment, am 7 weeks today, and it was 7/8 weeks that we lost little bub last time. I'm taking things so easy, making DF do all the housework and i'm just getting home from work and getting into bed.
The sickness is still here with a passion (The lemons didnt work :() and insomnia is still looming around, although, i did sleep the whole night through last night :dance:

Still having a few troubles with my back, but seems to be getting better.

Emmykate - My GP told me to wait 2-3 cycles before TTC, but when I said that I might not want to wait that long she went down to at least one. The main reason is so that the pregnancy could be dated more reliably. I waited the one month just so that I could feel that my body was back to normal.

Emmykate--My dr. advised me to wait 2 cycles, but after extensive research I found that there's usually no medical reason (especially without a D&C) why you can't TTC again right away. They say it's to help build up a healthy lining in your uterus, but I've heard lots of women going in for scans and it showing a healthy lining. You're also very fertile after a m/c! Some women are able to fall pg again right away and go on to enjoy a healthy, happy pg'cy. We began TTC right away.... still trying after 6 cycles, but the point was that we began when we felt ready... now if only my body were half as ready as my brain! :doh: I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide--it's your body, and you'll know when you're ready! :hug:

Please hope its just nothing.. when I went to ER on Thurs they said the bleeding could have been anything from irritation of the cervix from sex or just broken blood vessels... but since I was cramping doc said to go to OBGYN to see if my cervix is not opening.. cuz if it is ( I will get checked tomorrow) then I will need it stitched up to give baby a chance to make it!

I havn't fallen pregnant again yet after the recent loss I had But, I do know its scary I lost a baby at 19 W exactly over 3 years ago and Its been hard everytime I fell pregnant I was always afraid to see the nightmear I had happen. I know its hard to hear and say to yourself try to relax. But sometimes when you stress out more its not good on the baby nor you either. I really hope baby is well darling and I will keep you in my prayers.. KUP.

Rutie-How are you feeling darling? :hug: Any plans for the weekend? I'm gonna be sleeping in and relaxing hoepfully. I'm due to get progesterone check on CD 21 & I guess they wont put me on Progesterone till I find out I'm pregnant.

As for me-I had that Trigger in my Arm and its a little sore but not much. I tested yesterday with 2 faint lines on HPT I said "Dang that stuff gets in there fast" This morning HUGE two lines as dark as control line. I know its the shot doing it but its amazing how things like that work so fast. I will be retesting on Monday or Tuesday to see if the trigger has left my system yet. Then I know once its BFN and goes back to BFP I will know I'm pregnant. I have to get progesterone check on CD 21. And once I get my BFP I'll probably get on progesteone

babyfever: Oh yah.. I got that shot when I was TTC my son and OMG!! it is so fast to show up... just give it a week or two and then tests if you get something then it can be the real deal!! Sending you my very best wishes & :pray: ♥
Well My Birthday is on Sunday so my only plans is to go out and celebrate anywhere..hheehehehe But tomorrow I have a doc appointment to see how things have been going since my ER scare..and am praying for good news.. if baby is ok hubby will see the baby for the 1st time and am excited about that. I will be 11 weeks on the dot tomorrow so am happy about that. other than that.. Which still gives me a "good" score for conceiving, but I want to know how many DPO I am. May be I should override it?? Thinking of going for BT on Friday morning. Latest possible day (we're going up the coast on Friday afternoon, for the weekend, so want to know whether to take the prog up with me or not).

Ruthie-Yeah I just spent $60 on 5 boxes of 3 tests of FRER since this is my first time having the trigger that way I can know when the test will be out next cycle if this one is a bust and wont have to spend a lot on HPTS, I'm giving up my addiction for once. I really hope this cycle I get pregnant with a sticky bean that way I dont have to go through all this again. We BD yesterday and again today and will again tonight and tomarrow. Were pushing for a baby boy but with the BD before + OPK Im kinda worried about another girl. But, whatever I get I will be happy as long as he/she is healthy. I might be a litlte ****ed at first but. I will become better :-). Oh I pray that all goes well, Get some pictures if you can and post them On BB!!!.. Joey- I believe you would be about 6DPO today darling. Since you had that one day of + and other negitive and the scoop I say you need to use override and put CD 16 as O day... USually the day after your + your temp spikes...

I'm having a D&C tomorrow I been bleeding since Sunday night I only passed a few clots so they are going do the D&C and clean everything out ... I may try to have a baby in year or so but I'm not sure after having two losses in 4 months I'm to hurt mentally and physically to even think about it right now I hope if I do decide to try again when I come back all you girls are gone from this forum because you got the bubs you have been praying for thanks for all your prayers and showing me so much love :hug:

Oh Toccara honey :( I am so devastated for you. That's just not fair! Have you had another ultrasound? If you haven't, I think you should ask for another before the procedure to confirm things, even if it's just for peace of mind. Oh it's just so unfair! Emmykate Hi when I had my two miscarriages the o/b at the hospital said it would be fine to ttc again after the bleeding stopped.

Joey I agree with babyfever and would say your 6DPO. I would get a BT done just to check that way you dont have to worry about it all weekend. Good luck.

As for me DH had his second semen test yesterday to check his DNA fragmentation as last time it was above 30 which is pretty bad. I have my u/s on friday to check that everything is okay after my op to remove the subseptum. Then we have our FS appointment next wednesday to get the results. This week is going to go sooooo slow. :pray: that we get great results.

Tocarra - my thoughts are with you. I'd ask for another u/s before your procedure just to make sure, remember a lot of women do have a bleed and go on to have a H&H little bub. I do so hope that you are able to come back at some point and TTC again. Let your heart and body heal and remember we are always here for you. We'll try really hard to clear this thread out for you.

Ruthie - all the best with your appointment on Wed. Hope everything goes just the way you want it to.
