Hi Girls
I was so glad to find your discussion here - the first time I have thought about any positive side to not being pregnant. I'd like to add smoked salmon and sleeping on my tummy to the list!
I had a miscarriage and d&c while I was on holidays in Ireland in August - horrible thing. was even more upset to find out a few weeks later that it was a PMP and we have to wait at least another 6 months to try again. Although I'm relieved that it wasn't worse (complete or invasive mole).
I've only had 2 blood tests so far due to the delay in communication and got a 9 and a 5. My OB said 5 was as good as zero and wants me to have one more weekly test, then monthly. She said wait 6 months from d&c so one month down and 5 to go. don't know how i'll get there other than thinking about all those beautiful women who won't ever have another chance.
Hey tac, I'm sorry to hear that you're joining us moles. It's a hard road. That's great that your ob was happy with 5 - as you'd have read, I had to wait for a 1.5!
I felt really strange on Thursday last week - at work all day I was just antsy, couldn't work out why (it was my birthday, and I thought that was it) but worked out later it was because it was my first Thursday without a blood test to kick off the morning.
So, the Womens in Melbourne reckon if you get your zero within 56 days of d & c, then that's your all-clear. DH heard this and decided that Victorians (he is one, and incredibly biased!) know much better than Queenslanders, and that we should start TTC now. BUT we have booked our trip to Japan for the year's end, and I am not missing out on the skiing and general other dangerous fun things we are going to do because I am pg. So we will wait.
ETA: I haven't done my lottery ticket yet - I actually don't even know how to play it! Will find someone to help me work it out...
hi everyone
last night i had a rare fillet steak which was great. i really hate my steak well done so basically didn't eat any while i was pregnant. so i guess that's another thing to add to the list!
my test last week came back less than 2. my OB said that was negative and i can go to monthly tests now so that's good. i am seeing her in 10 days anyway for a post d&c ultrasound to make sure everything's clear so hopefully we can talk more about the whole PMP thing then. i have found it hard to pin her down which is frustrating - she seems to be indicating that this is nothing to worry about but 6 months waiting is a big deal to me at 34 years old!
anyway a ski trip to Japan sounds great. not sure if we'll achieve that with our toddler but maybe i'll try to do some scuba diving over the summer to keep me feeling positive.
hoping everyone's numbers are still on the way down.
tac
Hey tac, how awesome that your numbers are down! We're all sub-2 and on monthly tests now.
We should have a zero party
My next test is on Friday. First monthly. I think the monthly tests might be harder to handle than the weeklies - weekly tests were just sort of built into my routine, and it was all still a bit recent. Now though, I am so OVER it, and there's hardly any point, I know it's going to be zero, and I just resent that time taken out of my week.
Scuba diving sounds good - have you done much? I haven't been for ages, so reluctant to just pick up and go, but would love to squeeze it in just once before the end of the year.
