Treelo - I had the same thing happening last month. There seems to be varying advice on the subject. The packet states that the test line has to be darker than the first line to be positive, but some health professionals seem to think that even a fainter line is a positive. I have come to the conclusion that it also depends on your fluid intake. If you can refrain from urinating for hours before testing it should be a valid test, otherwise I have been advised to test FMU because it's more concentrated even if the package tells you to test around 2pm. Also some woman get a slower surge which explains why the line gradually get darker. Hope that helps. I am starting OPKs tomorrow (after wasting so many last month!), so I let you know what's happening... Good luck!
