Any LTTTC'ers with recurrent m/c's been prescribed "baby" or low dose aspirin?
Well I ended up in the ER for a completely unrelated reason but while there I was tested for blood clots and a blood test indicated I might have them.
After chatting to my GP about this and what I've read about it being a possible cause he's suggested I start taking low dose aspirin and see if it makes any difference.
Anyone had any luck?
I've only been on it for a week and I've found I bleed for some time even if its just a slight scratch so it must be doing something!
Hi toomanyshoes,
I am a LTTTCer and I have had 2 M/C's, one a missed M/C at 10.5w found at the 12w U/S and the second at 5w. After this I was started on daily aspirin 100mg and when I found out I was preganant I was to start prog pessaries twice daily. I am currently almost 8w and so far so good.
I didn't have any issues with clotting that I know of and my prog levels were ok in the past, but my FS said it was for extra support.
Good luck!
I think I have to continue until I am past 12w, but you are right, I will be concerned when I stop taking it. I think I have to wean the progesterone around 12w also.
Hope it works for you!
i had all the blood tests for recurrent miscarriage and everything came back fine (clotting ones as well) but the dr still told me to take aspirin, im on 300mg a day now while ttc and am meant to drop that to half that when (if) i get pregnant
Just saw this thread. Not sure if this is still something you are on (I saw from another thread that your dr identified a thyroid issue for you too). BUt i thought i'd share in case it helps... I also had blood tests (after two complicated m/cs) showing i might have a higher chance of clotting in pg. Dr told me to take low dose aspirin while TTC and, once i got a BFP, to continue with it until 37wks pg. (He said the plan is usually to take the aspirin until 12 wks or all the way through pg). For me, he also got me to start on injections of blood thinning medication as soon as i had my BFP (so at 4.5wks) which I am on until 37wks also. Don't know if that's what has made the difference for me this time but I am still on both kinds of blood thinners... until SUnday when i'll be 37wks pg.
I hope that the drs can help with the things that have shown up on your blood tests and you can get that sticky bub you dream of...
