Trying to Conceive after Still Birth/Recurrent Miscarriage/Late Loss ~ February 2009

Just a quickie from me before i pack my bag and leave for a wee 2 day holiday....

Jo, maybe I was nesting, I don't know anymore......but I do know one thing, if this is what nesting feels like, God help me when I get the urges one day when I'm pregnant again!!!!! Hubby watch out!!!! Hope you're resting nicely hun, big hugs and look after yourself xx

Megan, :pray: very hard for your BFP this cycle!!!!!!!!! Get as much action as you can and visualise that eggie catching a swimmer. Positive thoughts and visualising something you want to happen apparently really helps according to my psychologist.

It took DF a bit of convincing to use to cream last night, his argument was if he has it I'd have it in... well, my mouth :redface: But I ended up convinving him.

Tildy, Argh.. I've never had DF make me bleed thank goodness. I don't think I would have said anything either, I know they feel horrible when they hurt us accidently.

Rozzie, yay for maternity leave!!!!! Put your feet up and be a preggo lady of leisure, or try to be as must as your stiff joints will allow it :) Aaah, how wonderful!

well emmy is in and hopefully nice and cossy (sp) for the next 9 months she went back as an 8 cell so doubled overnight and was perfect looking so the fs said, we will just have to take his word on it and cross our little fingers. very tired tonight as hardly got any sleep last night will do persy tommorrow . thanks again girls for being so wonderful

i'd just like to introduce myself before i start asking questions etc.
i'm noni 26 and deaar hubby is micheal 36 and we're in perth. last month we lost our first child, a little boy at 20w4d for no apperant reason they say.they just don't know why it happened as everything had been perfect up to then. we were devastated and i thought we'd never pull through. but thank God we are okay now and looking forward to trying again. we don't think it's too soon and feel we're ready but i'm sure a lot of emotions will come up. i'm nervous beacuse i don't know it happened and what it means for the next pregnancy. we do have a meeting on the 18th of march though with doctors etc to see if they have any updates and any advice for this time around.

Hi noni, gosh I hate it when new people join this thread! No one should have to suffer a loss. There are beautiful women in here that offer the most amazing support, advice and a shoulder to cry on if you need it at any time of the day or night. I know I use it to it's full advantage!
I'm sorry to hear about your Bub, the reason we lost our bub is a mystery as well. At our last appointment with our Dr's they said that generally when they can't find a problem it rarely happens again, and they keep assuring us of this - although I'm not sure how much of a comfort it's meant to be, never would be better than rarely
I'm glad your excited about TTC again, when they heart is ready, it's ready!

Hi Noni, welcome to our wonderful group of mums, but so very sad you have to be here. What did you name your little boy? You will find heaps of support and understanding from these ladies that have been through such devastating losses, it is hard for people on the 'outside' to understand what you and DH have gone and will continue to go through. I hope your next meeting can shed some light on things for you, and trust me the nervousness doesn't go away, worse luck, but you will get to hold your little earth baby and their big brother will be smiling down at you all.

thanks teagzz and hgirs. i feel so muc better though now. but yesterday i had a bit f a rough day cos he would have been 26 weeks old and i remember early on thinking that it would be such a nice time by now.sigh.but it's okay. we had him cremated and brought him home and they did lovely pictures for us i get to see him whenever.his name is Tosin.as you both know you never forget. hgirs congrats on your little Bub :clap: :dance: i'm so happy for you ! and teaggz, good luck to us :crossfingers:

M2B - welcome to the group - its an unfortunate thing to find yourself in here but as already stated you will find lots of great ladies and men who have all been through the devastation of a loss. All who will be more than happy to become that shoulder to cry on or ear to chew when you need it. I am glad you feel the strength to begin your TTC journey so quickly and I hope that your stay here is a very short one and that you never need to return to this thread further down the track. Sorry that sounds aweful but there are always very sad reasons for one to be in here ;);)

Noni, don't worry I'm still counting down my pregnancy too, I tried to stop but you can't really help it. I would have been 29 weeks this coming friday. I'm actually looking forward to when Jayvan's due date passes because the fantasy will be over, but I'm dreading it at the same time! I love your little bubs name as well. Are you going to do anything with his ashes? We bought Jayvan's home as well, they're sitting on Df's bedside table at the moment because he stole him off me : )

thanks for your words nae nae..i love your name! teagz i know what you mean about counting down. i'm not really i gess but i just knew yesterday was coming. i was really down and dh gave me the space to be. as for the due date/week i don't know how it'll be.today's rainy and cloudy in perth and i remember fantasizing about being home with my boy in the wintermonths etc...we bought a solid oak box for his ashes, it's pretty biggish and we're gonna put him there together with his birth and death certificates, they came last week and that was hard too and his other little bits and pieces and put it away for when we want to look through it.we're not gonna have them out in the open though. it's too private for us.
your boy's name is lovely he he he that your df stole him from you ! how sweet.

Noni, yeah we haven't left stuff for Jayvan out either. I would love to but I don't think that people would understand, but at the same time I don't like the idea of having him stuff away in a box up in the top cupboard. We have a puter box for his ashes that has his name engraved on it his little blanket is in there, and we have his hand and footprints framed and hanging above our bed.

M2B - Teagz -

DH and I have Nikita's box out on display but its strategically placed in our living room we have a bit of a nook so have it there with a tea light candle holder next to it and a picture of her sitting on top. Its not so evident what the box is unless you go over to it and see her name engraved on the plate on top.

You may one day want to bring the box out and have it there with you. DH and I feel that by having Nikita in the room we spend the most time in, its like she is with us all the time.

I know it sounds stupid .

In relation to the due date, I found the lead up was worse than the actual date though the date was still hard I just had to keep assuring myself that Nikita came when she was meant too, her life had purpose and when that purpose was met she left. She kept DH and I together at a time when I was getting ready to leave him. I found other dates like Christmas very difficult and who knows how things will pan out when her 1st birthday and Angelversery come round.

Anyway, try not to look ahead about the what if's take one day at a time and just accept everything that comes with it. :hug:

BTW - I got my nappies today :rolleyes: I have had them on layby for ages and they finally came they are soooo cute I love the blue, pink and yellow ones. its the bumgenius 3.0 version I have wanted them for ages since I was very first pregnant in 2007.
Now all I need is a baby tofill those nappies :rolleyes:

Teagz - Sorry about AF. Still hoping it's a false alarm.

M2B - Welcome. So sorry for your loss. We lost Zachary at 35 weeks 5 days. It has been the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. We have Zachary's ashes at home in our bedroom in a tiny pewter box but his hand & footprint and a large photo are in our living room where we can see him every day. We also have a butterfly tealight candle holder which we light every month on the 24th (his birth date). There was no reason for Zachary's death either - we were told he was perfect. It has been hard to deal with but we have accepted it now and are happy there was nothing wrong with our angel. I hope you find comfort here, the ladies are so wonderful and supportive. Good luck with your TTC journey.

AFM - Yesterday was a hard day as Zachary would have been 7 months old. I can't believe it has been 7 months!!! Having our nuchal scan on 12 March - feel like it is ages away lol

Teagz, I hope its not really AF and is implantation bleeding? Fingers crossed for you. My cycle has been all over the shop since as well, so I can sympathise with the frustration, but hope that its not AF and you get a BFP soon. Also, is it your birthday Teagz? :happybirthday: You must be turning 21, woo hoo, is that right, or have I just made that up :D

Welcome Noni, I am so sorry for your loss, I really feel for you. I can understand you wanting to TTC straight away, it seems that a lot of us felt that way. I really hope its a quick journey for you and you have a beautiful baby in your arms soon. I also hope you get some answers to the loss of your angel, it must be very difficult to accept when the dr's say there was no real reason.:hug:

Yeah, I dunno... it seems to be a bit to much blood for an implanation bleed to me.

Sorry that I have been missing for a while and about my total lack of personals. It has been very difficult for me to sit at the computer. I spent Monday in the hospital. My doctor sent me up to be put on the monitors to check for contractions. There was some blood in my urine, cramping for over 24 hours, and my pressure was up a bit. They thought that I might have a UTI causing some contractions. I was having some contractions but they stopped almost as soon as our little man decided to turn around feet first. His head was causing too much pressure on my cervix. I ordered a belly belt to hold things up a bit. I guess a lot of women need them after a few pregnancies.

I have an ultrasound on Monday in the office and I go Tuesday the 10th to have an in depth ultrasound with my high risk doctor. I will let you know how my appts. go. I am trying very hard to limit my time sitting upright for a little while. I will have to take over my DH's laptop when he gets home.
