Trying to Conceive after Stillbirth/Late Loss/Recurrant Miscarriage October

Hi Ladies, I have been having a difficult time getting on bellybelly for the past couple of days. I don't know what the problem was. I have a bit of reading to catch up on. I was worried that I might have missed some news from Katie! Guess not, I will be stalking if my computer continues to play nice.

I have had a stressful day. Last night I had a bit of pink spotting after sex. It was a tiny bit and it didn't last long at all. I know what the problem is at least. I had a pap test on Monday ( I have no idea why they have to do that so early in pregnancy). I always spot and it freaks me out. I think my DH is worried that I am going to avoid him for 7 months now. He might be right to worry.

Hi everyone - I am still here and still waiting!

Laney - I hate the idea of spotting. I was terrified of it this time around. I had a small spot at 6 weeks but thankfully nothing since. I hope you are as lucky and have no more spotting to add to your anxiety. You are doing so well, keep up the positive thoughts.

Rozzie - hugs for moving into the maternity wear. I know it must be so hard having to wear it and also fear the questions that will arise. It sounds like you are doing a good job so far, and it is good that you can be honest and talk about Edward when people ask you. I think having to face people who may not know etc, is one of the hardest parts of the grieving. I always feel so vulnerable and that inevitably leads to feeling teary. Good luck over the coming weeks and I hope people are sensitive towards you. Also it is lovely that your DH can feel the kicks already. It took my DH until 25 weeks until he felt anything. I know it will bring back memories of Edward, but try to hold on to the fact that they are lovely memories even if bittersweet.

Paula - hugs with the text you received from your friend, but glad that she was sensitive when you called her. You must have felt exhausted by the end of the day. I hope your specialist can take over the management of your progesterone as well as hormones, that way you will know you have all bases covered. Don't worry about having an 'all about me' post - we all need to do those at different times.

Helen - so glad your spotting has stopped - fingers crossed it stays that way! Thanks for the labour vibes - keep sending them my way!

Sue - good luck for your scan on Monday. Can't help with the blood test results as I don't have them done - just the NT scan. I hope you have a lovely scan and see your little baby moving around for you and putting on a good show. Make sure you update us asap!

Hi to Tildy, Cindee and Jo and anyone else I have missed...I hope you are all well.

As for me, I am still sitting here counting the days. Saw my ob yesterday, he was running late as he had an emergency C/S and then a woman in labour. All is good, he said that the baby is a 'nice size' and reassured me that he doesn't mean big! I had to double check on that one. Blood pressure and baby hb is good, and still fully engaged, so the due date really is anyones' guess! My mum is doing well and had her first chemo treatment on Monday. She has been feeling pretty good and only had one instance of slight nausea, so fingers crossed that it continues through the whole treatment. She is currently staying with my sister, so is being looked after. She is getting excited about the baby and reminded me to call when I go into labour.

Laney - spotting is so scary, I have had it twice so far during my pregnancy and I have freaked out. I hope you are feeling better.

Rozzie - Nice to feel those kicks, I can not wait until I get that feeling. I am so proud of you for wearing maternity and getting through the rest of the week. I hope it went smoothly for you.

Paula - I have never been in your situation, but my heart goes out to you (actually to all of you) who have had late losses. It must feel like it takes forever for everybody to eventually know and it must be such a shock each time you come across somebody.

How is everyone doing? It is still very quiet in here, but I guess that is a good thing. Nov is finally here for those TTC YAY! I had a really good day today in the way of NO sickness at all, I can't believe how easy it is to take your health for granted. I just felt like I got so much done today without having to drag myself around, the only down side is of course I start wondering why I felt so good, is the baby still OK etc! can't win can we!

Katie - Are you still with us????

Hi Helen- yes still very much with you all. Starting to get a little impatient to meet this little girl. No signs yet though of anything happening. Glad to hear you are feeling better but it is always difficult when we lose symptoms no matter how positive they are! I didn't have any symptoms this time and it drove me mad!

Sue - good luck tomorrow and I hope you receive wonderful news and see your little babys' heart beating away. Make sure you update us asap.

I've been moving for the past four days and we're both absolutely shattered. Very clever thing to do the very month we want to start TTC. Duh!

Laney, want to hear something out of this world? DH and I didn't *ahem* for the entire five months that I was pregnant with Hamish. Not only because I spent most of my time with my head over the loo but we were scared that there would be blood and we wouldn't be able to cope. Didn't help as we now know...

Ah yes, the "how many kids do you have?" problem. Met one of my new neighbours on the weekend and she asked how many of us there are. I said two and she said "But you'll have a baby then there'll be more". That kind of excited me. But always, always, I think we are already three. I'm sure you all know the feeling.

Sorry just doing a selfish report.

I am freaking out!!!! It always happens to me, went to toilet this morning and had some more blood pink bleeding. Had to be today of all days.

Now I am not confident at all...... My poor DH is trying to keep me sane, but last night I had some more back ache and hip ache and then pink bleeding.

Sue - just a quick one to say that I hope all goes well today at the scan. I am so sorry to hear you have had some more spotting. It is so scary when that happens. Try to stay positive and I will be saying a prayer that you receive the very best possible news today at your scan. :hug:

Lan - yes I think this little girl is getting shy! I woke up last night and for some reason I was worried and then it took longer for me to feel movements. It was 3am and I finally felt her move but was so wide awake that I made a cup of tea and read for 2 hours. Finally went back to sleep at 5 and woke again at 7. Crazy. I will be so glad to hold this baby in my arms, as I am proving that my natural inclination to worry is still alive and kicking! You must be exhausted after moving house. At least now you can rest up and enjoy your new place and get started on TTC. I will have to start looking at your FF chart - love seeing what other people's do. Good luck!

I am back.

With a sigh of relief, I can say bubs is alive and wiggling.... the strenogropher had trouble capturing bubs and wouldnt do the right thing, but all looks good. My dates are right on and size was exactly 13 weeks, 1 day. Perfect....

I also got my results back for Down Syndrome and I am at low risk - with another sigh of relief. I am a 1 in 2,779 chance. My bloods were excellent and she said was like a 15 year old chance and my neck fold was nice and small. It was my age which brought down my score.

Anyway I am low risk, so I am happy.

Sue, what wonderful news!!! I just knew bub would be healthy. How lovely to see the baby, 12 week scans are great because you can see all of bub in one shot. Please let yourself celebrate now, go and do something fun!!!

Oh Lan, I was so glad to see your post, because I'm embarassed to say Alec and I still have not been intimate since we conceived... I'm not even sure why!!! At first I was sick, but now I'm not though in the evenings I'm exhausted. Last time we didn't until a few weeks into the second trimester either, but well before 18 weeks. Not sure what's holding me back. I feel extra guilty because a few weeks ago I said we could try for the weekend then it didn't happen, poor man!!! He has not put one gram of pressure on me though, lovely man. The funny thing is I've been dreaming about sex, so it's clearly been too long hehehe!!!!

Katie, I get so excited when I see a post from you, I keep expecting one that says you're having contractions. Soon enough though!!

As for me, we have our morphology scan on Wednesday, I cannot believe it's time already. I've decided I don't want to know the sex, either way I think it will evoke complex emotions I'd rather not deal with on top of everything else. Besides, last time we found out but decided not to tell anyone, until we saw the in-laws and Alec used the word 'grandson' instead of grandchild. So he simply cannot be trusted!!!
I had a similar thing to Katie last night, hadn't felt bub move since early evening so started worrying, even though it's still so early. I think it did move but then as I was in and out of sleep I wasn't sure if I'd dreamt it. But I got out the doppler before work and there was heartbeat, along with a lot of odd noises that must have been bub moving. Then lots of kicks all day. I'm sure it's the start of much worry as lack of movement is how I found out last time, so I'm super sensitive to any quiet times, but there's no getting around it I suppose.

Canberra has a public holiday tomorrow, 'families and community day' timed to be on Melbourne Cup day, a little ironic I think!!! But it's great for us!!! ooh and the US election... very exciting...

hammi - i got my Af yesterday and it has set off a heap of emotions! its horribly heavy but i am going with it anyway! i think it is in part due to the asprin i have been taking which the OB said would make them heavier. I also found out my friend who spent ALOT of years on IVF is 5 weeks with her 4th preg. (Last preg resulted in a healthy bubs, 2 before were miscarriages) Speaking to her always gives me a boost in my "REAL" world so i love having her there to share! Your big appointment is in a few days - how are you feeling? hope you are not pushing yourself too hard! its very exciting in a new place! we got a new couch delivered today and i can't stop looking at it!!!
hgirs -yay for no sickness, as good a sign as it is it would be nice for you to have a break too!
mrs robbo - i look forward to your results on the hormones as my friend i spoke about with hammi is taking a progesterone suppository (sp!!!!) as she just wanted that extra help down there. it has been on my mind also in regards to the prog as i have read alot about it in my endless googling!

Hi, ladies. Time for me to write a real post for once in a while!

Sue -- I'm so happy to hear about your scan. I know you were really worried about the NUPP results (or whatever they're called in English, I forget!) and it's great to hear that they were well into the low risk zone. I know it's really difficult dealing with the spotting, but I think it's a good thing that it happened right before your scan -- you got to see for yourself that the spotting didn't mean bubs wasn't okay. Try to keep that in mind if it happens again -- but I know it's so hard to be positive sometimes.

Rozzie -- I think it's a really good thing that you have the doppler. I haven't started feeling regular movement yet, but when I bought mine I figured it will come to good use once I am feeling movement and maybe have one of those worried days where I don't feel as much. Since the lack of movement is so emotionally charged for you, I'm glad you have a way of putting your mind at ease. Exciting about your morphology scan in two days! Mine is in one week, and I'm getting really anxious, but in a good way! I can't wait to see what bubs looks like in week 20 and get some pictures to tuck away. I am waffling about asking them about the gender. DH still says no, as we decided that with Beiron, but this time I wonder if it could be a good thing to know; to help me bond with the baby, since I'm still in very robotic-medical-scientific mode about the pregnancy. But I have a feeling I'll just go with the flow and let DH steer me on this one.

Speaking of the U.S. election, I'm so stoked! I sent in my absentee ballot a few weeks ago (and since I say I'm stoked, I guess you know who I've voted for, or if you've looked at my blog :) ). DH and I are such political nerds that we've taken Wednesday morning off of work so that we can stay up and watch the incoming returns on CNN. The first polls close at midnight Swedish time I think, but things won't really start happening until the east coast starts rolling in at about 2 am our time. So I better take a nap tomorrow afternoon, but like I said, we took Wednesday morning off of work and all our coworkers think we're funny. :)

Katie -- there must be so many emotions for you right now. Anxious to meet your little girl, but maybe even a bit nervous? I would be! Imagine if you could go back to December and give yourself a big hug and tell her things will eventually be better. That's kind of what it's like for us, knowing that you've made it and will have your little baby soon.

Helen -- my web browser doesn't update the tickers properly, so yours said you were 7+5. That didn't sound right, so I refreshed and saw 9+3! Wow, things move fast! How are you feeling?

Lan -- Good luck with your move! Don't let it keep you from your new start to TTC; a close friend of mine who had a hard time getting pregnant told me once that everyone tries to wait for the "right time" in their life to have a baby, but that some of us know that it will never be the right time if you keep waiting for things to be perfect. I didn't fully understand her until after losing Beiron.

DH and I seem to be quite the opposite about sex. Normally we have very little of it, so TTC was a seriously concentrated and scheduled effort (not that we didn't have FUN, it's just that it had to be very planned). But when I'm pregnant we seem to want more of it than usual. Then again that might be because we're not allowed (the doc finally said no more until after the morphology scan). So even though I had a huge bleed and fairly painful cramps every time we had sex, it's kind of tough to stay away! And I am having some pretty vivid dreams... :redface: Although I've been having pretty vivid nightmares about babies and things as well, so I think there's a lot of emotions coming out in my dreams. A friend of mine who has had two super normal and uncomplicated pregnancies told me that she did actually bleed so much after sex once that the mattress got a huge stain, and the doctor told her that that was perfectly normal. So it's kind of crazy, how much bleeding they mean when they say you can bleed after sex.

Hmm, now people are coming in and asking me to work. Dangit. Guess I'll have to get back to you guys later!

Tildy, I get very vivid/strange dreams when I am pregnant too. I have one just about every night. They are usually about babies or sex. All those hormones going crazy I guess. My DH thinks it's funny that I have some crazy dream to tell him about every morning.

Rozzie, Do not feel embarassed about not being intimate during pregnancy. My DH and I did the same thing for months during my pregnancy with Shelby. The doctor told me that my loss had nothing to do with sex but I was worried that it had something to do with why we lost Parker. The doctors couldn't tell me what happened to Parker so why couldn't it have had something to do with all of the sex. I know that it is fine to do during pregnancy but I still have fears even now. I figure that it will happen whe I feel comfortable/relaxed about it.

It is interesting to read how excited people are about the US election. There is a lot of excitement here in the US for this election too. A buzz that we haven't had in a long time.

Sue, I am so happy to hear that your scan went well. I love seeing the baby at that time. They wiggle around so much. We were able to get a video of Parker at 12 weeks, it was so exciting.

Jo, Thank you for thinking of me. It is so helpful to have women to chat with that have been through the same situation. I really can't talk to anyone else about pregnancy right now. Most people just don't fully understand.
I was always extra emotional when my AF came. The hormone change made me do depressed for a week or two. Have you talked to your DH at all about TTC?

Hammi, I feel a little better knowing that a lot of other women are dealing with the same issue. My DH and I know that avoiding sex isn't going to help the outcome of our pregnancy either. That doesn't mean that the little voice in my head will let me relax about it right now. I am not going to rush anything. I have too much to worry about without having a little bleeding. The most important thing to me and my DH is bringing this little baby home.

Katie, It feel like these last two weeks are taking forever. Your pregnancy flew by for me but now it is in slow motion. Where is she already? I am excited to see her picture.

Everything is going okay here. I only had a tiny bit of pink and it went away. I am starting to feel pretty sick. I feel great when I wake up but by noon I can't eat a thing. I have a strange taste in my mouth all day long. It makes most food taste bad to me. My emotions have been pretty difficult for me the past week or so. I have been very short with people, which is not like me. I feel like the depression might be getting a hold of me again. I just haven't been able to keep up with the positive thinking. Everytime I see my ticker I do a count down to the 18 week scan. I can't even imagine how that day is going to go.

Thank you all for your well wishes. I am still coming down from cloud 9. I got home yesterday and totally crashed....

My DH and I as well haven't been intimate since we conceived. I think I am the nervous one about it, as I seem to bleed easy enough and am a bit scared that I will freak out even more.

Rozzie - Good luck for your morphology scan tomorrow. I will await your good news and tell me what it entails. My DH and I have discussed finding out the sex and we have decided to find out (if we can). I think personally we would like to personalise our bubs growing inside.

Katie - You must be getting impatient waiting!!!! I am hoping for your good news soon.

Jo - I hope you are well, and hoping you will tell us soon how you are going. I am also on asprin and I think this is the reason I am getting this pink spotting here and there..... I think the Ob said last time that if the placenta moves and connects, that this can cause bleeding and with my blood thinner it makes it much more likely.

Tildy - Glad all is going well with you. Don't stay up too late watching the elections... he he he

Laney - Glad things are going well with you also..... I am similar with m/s, I find that by night time, I do suffer a bit, especially if I have to cook and smell all the foods. Brushing teeth is horrendous... I am really struggling with that.

Ladies - I am hearing you all, about the sex thing!! Thought I was the only one that shied away from it! I am terrified of introducing bacteria that could cause another infection! I am going to ask the OB on Thurs about it, I am sure he will say 'You are just being paranoid!' Besides the fear I have completely lost ANY sex drive as well so even just the thought is annoying, poor DH! Talk about paranoia, this is my third day now of feeling 'well', I don't feel one ounce like I am pregnant, I am worried something has happened and I just don't know it yet:(

Sue: I was so excited to see your scan went well. It seems that whevever anyone has a scan or a test or something i feel as nervous as if it was me. I didn't have time to post last night, but had a quick check to make sure all was ok. You are so in new territory now and really have good reason to be over the moon.

Rozzie: is your scan tomorrow? I'm confused because I had to catch up on so many posts. I'll be thinking of you and looking forward to checking in for some good news tomorrow night.

Laney: congrats about the nausea :) and I hope you can get some relief from feeling so down. When you have so much to deal with it is understandable to feel like you do. Just try and be kind to yourself and rest when you need to.

Helen: hang in there and try not to stress (I know that is impossible but it makes me feel less useless to suggest it to you!!) We're all willing you on to a happy and healthy pregnancy. When is your next check up?

Re the sex thing... I am not PG and my DH is not getting any!! I have no excuse other than being incredibly tired and trying to juggle being a working mum. I better get my act into gear or the whole ttc thing could take awhile!!

Jo, oh wow, The Cycle starts. Mine is due in about three days. I hope that we get pregnant together like Rozzie and Tildy. It's debilitating when it's heavy though. I hope you're taking good care of yourself, your conception process starts now! Having said that I've been busting every muscle in my body with my move. We're still not done but new home is starting to look like a home now. I unpacked Hamish's stuff and put them into The Baby Room to get used to the idea. Of course I had to cry all over his things but I like going in there and opening the drawers to see little jumpsuits.

Lan - sorry to disappoint but no labour yet! DH had to study all day yesterday so I had limited access to the laptop. It sounds like you are settling into your new home and it is nice that you have made a place for Hamish as well. I had only bought a couple of items for Nathaniel, one sits in his memorial box as it was the first outfit I bought and the others are going to be used by this bub. It is nice to know they are going to get used. Good luck with your TTC and don't tire yourself out too much - you need your energy!

Rozzie - good luck with your scan today. I can't wait to hear the good news. I know it will be nerve wracking but try to focus on the wondeful feeling when you see your baby's heartbeat. :hug:

I have had to laugh about all you admitting the lack of action - I am exactly the same and for exactly the same reasons. DH and I agreed early on that we would rather go basically without than worry ourselves if I was to have a bleed. I think it is pretty normal that we have all made this decision considering the heartbreak we have all experienced. I think the only people who would think we are all crazy are those who haven't been where we have. I know that it is all safe etc, but it is as much about state of mind. It shows we have very understanding partners!

Ok must rush, so hi to everyone else not ignoring you but have to rush off to an Ob appointment. I hope you are all well and belly rubs and baby dust to everyone. :hug:

Hi ladies,

scan went great!!! the sonographer said everything couldn't have been any better. The measurements were all a few days ahead, it was moving the whole time, she said it's a very happy baby!!! She looked at the blood flow and it was perfect, which was a big relief. I asked if they would normally do that at the commercial places and she said no, I would have liked to have been able to compare the results from the last pregnancy but it's not possible. Unfortunately the doctor was in Norway so we didn't see him, but they checked the blood test results and they were all fine, including iron which surprised me as I'm soooooooo tired... I guess it's just a more stressful pregnancy which makes me tired.

She asked if we wanted to know the sex and we said no... but on a frontal shot there appeared to be a very obvious something between the legs, and it looked to be a pair of somethings!! So it may have been the umbilical cord, but I'd be surprised if bub turned out to be a girl!!!

We're having another scan at 22 weeks, which is good, it will be nice reassurance.

Sorry for the lack of personals, of course I worked myself up and now I'm exhausted. Will write more later.

Hi Rozzie - congrats on your scan! So lovely to hear that you have a happy wriggling baby in there. You need to post pics in the gallery - but I have no idea how that is done. Congrats once again - love hearing good news.

All is good with me - the ob appointment went well and he also ordered a foetal heartrate monitoring which also went well. DH was worried for a while but it actually ended up giving us some much needed reassurance.

Wow, what does everyone think about the new American President??? Esp those in or from the States. I feel sad that Barack's Grandmother passed away without seeing his victory:( She must have been so proud.

I have an OB appt tomorrow to get a 2nd opinion on Cooper's autopsy results and the plan for this pregnancy. I hope I don't get too emotional, I need to keep a clear head and not forget all my questions, which reminds I must go write them down!! I'm also really hoping he gives me a quick peek at bubs, but not sure if he will or not. It seems I may have spoken too soon about the ms, have been getting a bit again in the arvo/nights, and wicked indigestion tonight.

Rozzie, It is great to hear that you scan went so well. I can't wait to hear that this bub is a couple days ahead. I am pretty sure that it is the cord in your limb shot. That would be a pretty big penis for such a tiny little bub. I wouldn't count a girl out completely. The fact that you thought you saw something plus a cord might be a better indication of a boy. I just want to let you know that when I asked to know what sex Shelby was I was so sure it was a boy when she started looking because of the cord. After a minute of looking you could really tell it was a girl but the tech had to look pretty hard to know for sure.


As for me...my appt with the high-risk doctor is on Friday. I made the appt extra early so I don't have too much time to worry. It also helps me avoid terrible traffic in the AM. I hate going there. I have only gone there before because of problems, never good news. I am going to start my list of questions so I don't forget anything. I really hope they do a quick ultrasound but I doubt they will. Nothing happens quickly there even with an appt.

Rozzie - the link didn't work for me either but I did find your photos in the gallery - and I have no idea! You would think that after having a hundred scans this preg I would be an expert at reading scans but no...I still sit here thinking 'is that the head, is that the leg...'! :lol.

Laney - I hope the appointment goes well on Friday and that you receive better news than in the past. It is always hard to face places that hold difficult memories, so I know you will be nervous etc. Definitely write down your notes and I will keep my fingers crossed that they are nice and give you a scan.

Helen - good luck with your ob appointment today. Don't worry about getting emotional, it will remind your Ob what a difficult and anxious time this is for you. I think sometimes it is good for them to see our grief, so that they can remember to be sensitive and extra vigilant for us. Definitely write down your questions as it is always so overwhelming and impossible to remember them all. Let us know how you go.

Still no news from me, I don't think this little girl realises she is meant to be making her way into this world. I think I have made her home to comfortable. Our 2nd wedding anniversary is this Tuesday, so we have decided to go our for dinner on Saturday night unless something happens first. I have a massage this morning, and really looking forward to it. My massage therapist is amazing.

Hello my lovelies

Just back from my appointment, where I did see a BEAUTIFUL little bubba bouncing around, YAY!! My dates are spot on too, so that is good. I have come to the conclusion that I will have a cervical suture placed, after going through everything including a very fast 3 hour labour ( and not what I would consider terribly painful) with a breech baby (Corey) before being rushed off for an Em-Section, and previous D&C for miscarriage, and the details surrounding Cooper's Birth, and a ultrasound showing shortening of the cervix etc. I feel quite relieved to have made this decision, the only thing now is to get the hospital to change their original plan of the fortnightly scans, this OB is going to write to them which should help, I don't think it will be an issue as they did say if I wanted one that is OK. The only thing concerning me a little now is the fact that if it was an infection that caused the labour to start, we could be making the chances of another infection higher by doing this:(. My gut feeling though is the cervix started to dilate first which then let the infection in. God I hope I am doing the right thing!:wall: I am going to have a VERY unhappy DH though.... He did say to keep clear of sex, as if there is a weakness it could make it worse, most likely not, but better to be on the safe side.

So that is my news, right now I am on cloud 9!:dance:

I can understand how you are feeling about the cervical suture, I think women's intuition is the best one, so go with that feeling.

Yay for Rozzie and Helen and happy scans! Go with your gut on the suture Helen. You will never know 100% what is the right thing to do but at least if you go with your gut you will feel more comfortable than if you didn't and kept wondering if you should have.

Hi Ladies, I just wanted to let you know that my high-risk appt. went as well as it could have. I saw a new doctor because I was not crazy about my old one. He was great. He told me that heparin and aspirin treatment works great and that he really thinks my chances of having a healthy baby this time around is excellent. He thought the treatment would do its job even though they have no idea what is wrong with me. He said that he has treated a large number of women with similar issues with great success. It made me feel much better to talk to someone that was a bit more positive than my old doctor.

I got a quick scan in the office. The measurements were really good. A couple days farther along than my first scan said. The baby looks like a little seahorse now.

Fantastic news Helen and Laney. So relieved and excited for you. Helen, if your DH complains about the lack of action in the months to come, tell him that there's a few other DH's on this forum sharing his predicament :-)

I had my pre-conception appt with the new ob on Friday and instantly liked him. He was an open, friendly person and as soon as I told him our history, he was all ears listening to what I had to say, offering advice and comfort where appropriate. I also liked the fact that he admitted that he can't wave a magic wand over me and give me a healthy baby, but he suggested more frequent appointments and weekly visits between 18 and 22 wks as whatever went wrong with Hamish happened in that stage.

He quickly flicked through Hamish's autopsy report and said that "mild hypercoiling of the umbilical cord" isn't a cause of death. He said whenever they use mild, it means they're not really sure. He said he would classify Ham's death as unknown. He's just going check with my old obs what blood tests I had done but he said to go ahead with TTC this month.

AF arrived today which puts my LMP at exactly the same date as Hamish's. This freaks me out but I REALLY want to get pregnant now so I think we'll just go ahead and have a go.

My naturopath has banned me from charting my temps from this cycle onwards and after hearing about Rozzie's, Tildy's, Sue's and Helen's anxiety with temps going up and down after a BFP, I guess she is right. I'm so addicted though!

Well with me, I have hit the 14 weeks mark, starting the 2nd trimester.... yeah... anyway I think, I am not totally sure, that I felt bubs yesterday..... I was feeling a kind of bubble movement just below my belly button and about 5 minutes later I sneezed and I felt this bubble movement quite strongly. Though I cant feel it all the time, so I am not completely sure.

Belly rubs to all preggies and positive vibes for all TTC girls and for those who arent in any of the categories, thinking of you all and look forward to hearing how you are.

Just a quickie so i apologise for no personals. Have had a really rough last few days and i have a full day on tomoorow so wanna be a nanna and get to bed early!
Have been really sick which puts my ttc this month into question as I want to be nice and healthy. on the other hand i don't want to delay so have that over my head too. i worked out if we were to fall preg this month that my due date would be the day after madisons date she was born. that has messed with my mind alot and i feel like i have seriously been quite depressed these last few days...which would'nt have helped my physical health either. (really nasty cough and burning pain in my chest when i do, phlemy and nose running and just blargh!)
We got madison and Jacks urns and i have got their ashes in them now which makes me feel both upset and happy at the same time. i feel better for knowing they are in a more beautiful resting place now but it still hurts so much that they had to be in their urns in the first place. i tols another customer the other about Madison and she said she had noticed that my stomach had been a bit bigger but had'nt wanted to say anything due to knowing what happened with jack. then tonight Josh was saying AGAIN " i know what we can name our next baby..."
Anyway, i am sorry i have'nt been aorund but on tuesday when i have a day off will give you all responses and by then hopefully "katie jnr" has made her entrance into the world!!!!

Jo -- sorry to hear you've been sick. :( I sympathize, as I have some sort of virus/flu that DH got over quickly since I forced a bunch of echinacea in him but for me it's hanging on (and I'm not allowed to take the echinacea or most other cold medicines now of course). I coughed so much yesterday that I, ahem, had to go change me knickers. :redface: A whole new world of bladder control is opening up for me (or closing, depending on how you look at it). Your physical sickness doesn't mean it isn't okay to start TTC of course, but I imagine sex isn't the first thing on your list when you're feeling like this! :comfort: It's a bittersweet thing about Jack and Madison's urns. Where have you placed them? Your older kids are so sweet, but it must be so hard to hear their little comments sometimes. I think it's a lot of pressure on you to know that even Josh is already waiting for the next bubs! Hang in there, hon; tomorrow is a new day.

Susan -- A warm warm welcome to your second trimester. Any belly yet? I'm so happy for you getting to experience new things now that you haven't felt before.

Hammi -- great to hear that your pre-conception counseling went well! Now you're all set and ready to go! I think your naturopath is probably right about the charting -- I mean, I charted for just one month before getting a BFP, and it gave me lots of info (yay for numbers), but it didn't make it any easier to get pregnant or anything! We just had sex like every other day and it's not like I would have been any less pregnant if I didn't know what my temps were, right?

Paula -- the other ladies can correct me if I'm not quite right, but I believe it's like this. Aspirin and heparin are blood thinners. They make it harder for the blood to clot. A good portion of women who have repeated early miscarriages have either clotting disorders that mess up blood flow to the baby or they an over-abundance of too many or too large "myom" in their uterus (I seriously don't remember if it's called myom in English or cysts or polyps or what; it's myom in Swedish). Almost all of us have myom but in my SIL's case they were filling up here whole uterus and some were very large. They discovered this after she'd had 4 miscarriages in a row, all in week 12. The placenta just couldn't properly get attached. So she was given aspirin because it made the myom "shrink" and stopped their growth, and gave my little niece (whose 3rd birthday we celebrated today) a place to plant herself. And for the ladies with clotting disorders, it keeps the blood thinner so the cord or the placenta doesn't clot up, etc.

Grats again on finding a sympathetic doctor, Laney, one that you're comfortable with. I know it's going to be a long ways before you breathe more easily; you have had a particularly heavy burden of loss to deal with, and I just have everything possible crossed for your little seahorse.

Helen -- there's another lady in the Pregnancy thread, AngelLukesMum (whose name is also Jo) who just got a cervical stitch. Maybe you could send her a little message if you want to ask about it? She's just joined the preg thread, so you can see what she's said about it so far if you look at the last page or two. It could be good to get both the doc's perspective on it and one from another mum. Oh, and about your question about the new American prez -- I'm over the moon. :) I feel like my countrymen have gotten some of their marbles back, and I'm hoping that will be followed by some of our dignity. 90% of Swedes seem to be super happy about it as well, and I've seen at least 2 Swedish news anchors get teary-eyed about it!

Katie -- just wondering, how do you sit when you get a massage? I want to go in to the massage therapist that visits our office a couple times a week, but I noticed the other day that I really can't lie on my stomach anymore. Lying on my back is a little weird, too.

A little cut and paste from the Preg thread about how I'm going: As for me -- I caught DH's cold, first of all. I forced a bunch of echinacea into him so he got better in two days, but I'm not allowed to take it (have been VERY careful reading labels and trying to take as little as possible even of the OK stuff), so I'm still coughing all night and feeling totally ****. We still went up to Karlstad for DH's grandma's 93rd and neice's 3rd birthdays, which was maybe dumb because MIL and FIL are smokers and I always get a bit out of shape physically at their place, but I really wanted to be there and show my semi-belly (I sort of totally don't look pregnant or look like 6 months pregnant, depending on how you look at it) and pick up the baby buggy that SIL wanted to give up. We brought it home with us today, so we officially have our first piece of baby equipment now.

Having that baby buggy, though, has been one little cog in a whole whirring machine of weepiness and emotional complexity these last few days. I haven't slept much for worry about everything baby and non-baby and my bad dreams have been extremely vivid; one that I had last night has really had me on edge for two days and causing a film of Beiron's "birth" to play again and again in my mind. I started crying in the car on the way home from Karlstad (songs on the radio made it worse -- our wedding song, plus a song that became popular after we lost Beiron called "Empty Room" that was about emptiness and loss) and by the time we got home I just erupted into one of these huge cathartic sobbing sessions. So I dunno -- I'm definitely very hopeful and confident about Kebab, but memories of Beiron are especially strong and tough right now.

I'm really looking forward to my scan tomorrow and my midwife appointment on Tuesday. They mean a great deal to me because with Beiron both were already booked when we had the miscarriage, and so now I feel like "Yes, we made it this time!" I'll let you know how it goes.

Jo - sending you the biggest of hugs as it sounds like you are having a rough few days. Feeling sick coupled with missing your little ones must be very difficult. I don't think being sick will affect your TTC chances, but look after yourself anyway. I am glad that the urns have arrived and I know it must be bittersweet for you. It is wonderful that you are giving them a lovely home but at the same time it is something that no mother should have to do in the first place. :hug:

Tildy - sorry to hear that you have a bad virus. I know they say you shouldn't take echinacea but my naturopath assured me it was ok and I have taken it during this pregnancy. I have been super careful and have not had a single Panadol or any other drug pass my lips but I have been taking a lot of supplements as advised by my naturopath. I got a really bad cold around the same time as you (20+ weeks) and was soldiering through it, and I questioned her about the safety of echinacea and she reassured me. I know though, that you don't want to take any risks (trust me I have been paranoid) so do what feels right. Good luck for the morph scan and midwife appointment. I love watching your ticker move forward. It is only naturaly that around this time in your pregnancy memories of Beiron will come to the fore - just let them come and deal with them one at at time. Tears do actually help.

Lan - good luck with TTC this month. Temping can become obsessive! I would pore over my temps and try to decide if they looked good etc. Happy to hear that your pre-counselling went well and that your ob is supportive of you having some extra appointments over the period that you lost Hamish. I have weekly appointments from 12-20 weeks for that exact reason, and they really helped me keep my sanity. I hope your TTC journey is a short and happy one.

Laney - congrats on seeing your little seahorse again - I love that image! I am so glad that you feel comfortable with your dr and that he seems very proactive. Things are moving forward well for you - positive vibes being sent your way.

Helen - can't remember if I sent a congratulations for a great scan - if not then congratulations again! The stitch sounds like a good idea and should give you some peace of mind - try not to worry about infections. All will be well :hug:

Well I am still here!!! I woke up and went to the bathroom 4 times last night each time hoping that this time my waters would break or something would happen. I also woke up twice with some cramping and hoped that was the start of something...nope! Will this baby every come? I am getting impatient but I also would prefer that she makes her way into this world at her own time. I am really hoping I can skip being induced.

Tildy - about the massage, I now have them on my side. I have a sloped pillow placed under my stomach and a pillow between my knees (and my head is propped as well). It is really comfortable. I then roll over for the other side. I had one at 20 weeks and they had a special belly pillow that allowed me to lie on my stomach (my osteopath uses this as well). Just make sure that you go to a massage therapist that specialises in pregnancy massage and ask beforehand how you would be lying down. Some places have beds that have a whole in the middle, but the place I use don't have them as they feel they dont' offer enough support - the special belly pillow works well and it comfortable.

Tildy - Glad everything is going well with you, yes I am getting the "bump", lucky I always wore clothes too big for me to work, but they are getting tighter!!!!

Jo - sorry you have been sick. Look after yourself and get yourself better for your TTC journey. When we conceived our current bub, my DH was so sick with pneumonia, but still did the BD. Must admit we were a little worried about it after we found out we had conceived a miracle.....
