sheree - i was given a mixture of herbs last cycle and vitex was one of the ingredients in that, i have to say i do think it helped in leveling out my hormones, as i had been charting you could see the difference in the non herb month to the herb month. i've just been put on some new ones now to help sustain the pg, so i hope these ones work as well as the others.
silly question but what is epo?
-
Klee, EPO is Evening Primrose Oil. Sorry as I was typing it I thought I should have clarified. That is great, so you were only on the Vitex for one cycle and you fell pregnant? What have they given you now?
-
Sheree,
You do what you need to do my love... For me I found the knowing when less stressful than not knowing but that's because of my age (I am 40) - and I felt that my clock was ticking very loudly!
EPO is reportedly helpful with increasing your CM - however it should not be taken after ovulation as it works against the hormonal changes that occur after ovulation. Many women swear by grapefruit juice!
-
I hear you loud and clear Flowerchild. So is this your last child?
Yeah I thought EPO was good for that, I have some here, might take some of that leading up to ovulation. Thanks again.
-
Sadly yes... I always wanted 6 but I feel I can hang up my ovaries after Col is born - the road has been very long and very painful. She will be an absolute blessing for which I will always be grateful...
-
Yes I have just started reading your journal, you poor thing, you have had a rough time.
-
I think the road is hard for many many people. The sharing and connection though that our angels give us with others is their gift to us. Where would we be without all of these wise, supportive loving women!
-
Cheers to that! Mwah - hugs and kisses
-
Yes Deb- and where would we be with out you!!! :) mwah
-
Well, the Sperm Meet Egg thing that was put there I'm going to have to copy and paste and print out! I needa read it! :P
-
I used vitex to get AF back after breastfeeding lil miss nurse-a-lot. Abby Nursed frequently until she was 2. I was ready to ttc so in November, I started with the vitex tincture. AF followed about 2 weeks later. I was without her for 19 months total... so I loved vitex. You will read that it actually normalizes the parts of your brain that control hormones.. especially prolactin. There is, however very conflicting info on whether it should be used in pregnancy or DPO.. so read up and go from there. Hugs! and GL

Here, here to deb, kat & sheree
Sheree – the mixture I got last month include vitex but not solely that, had a few other herbs that helped with progesterone and things like that. I got it from my acupuncturist who is also a Chinese herbalist. She has given me this next mixture, but I haven't had chance yet to look at what each herb does, don't know that it works for everyone but my sister had a m/c 2 years ago and went on this when she fell again, mind you her son ended up walking at 6 months of age and she tells me its from that.
-
Gosh walking at 6months of age, unheard of!!!!!!! Wow, Lachlan was bearly sitting up on his own.
Yeah Vitex is not to be used after ovulation or whilst being pregnant.
-
Starbright - Actually I was very confident the the baby (nathaniel) was going to be fine. It was like it was a dream and I thought it quite comical that they were saying and thinking along the lines that they were.I don't know I just knew it was all going to work out ok. Despite the fact theat they thought otherwise.
Shereejoy - can you please explain what is vitex. . ......
-
Smiley - I posted it earlier today - It is a traditional herbal remedy used to relieve pre-menstrual symptons such as breast pain, breast tenderness and fluid retention. It can also assist in regulating the menstrual cycle. It is a Chaste Tree extract equivalent to 660mg of dry fruit. I conceived Lachlan and the twins, first time I started using it (first cycle I started to use it)

Have just posted in my 'melanoma thread'...but just wanted to let you know the prelim report is in and all looks ok! Still checking other tissue but looks good!
Thanks to everyone for your support...I'm such a drama queen...but I've been so worried!
-
You are not a drama queen Eliie, anyone would have been worried!
Oh starbright, nice pics honey. Do you still own the pub?
-
howdy everyone.
CeCe- yeah, howdy is a good rural greeting. the city ones don't sound right coming out of my mouth. i seem to remember that you are either from texas or ohio. strange how my brain works, two such different states. i'd bet texas is bigger into howdy than ohio? thanks for the hugs, and same to you. my theory on opks was to get a bunch b/c then for sure i wouldn't need them . . . like washing the car will bring rain.
Starbright- enjoy using those opks - hopefully you will not even get the hang of it because you'll only do it one month! lol that you remember drive through banks! everything, and i mean everything, is "drive-thru" in the us (food, banks, coffee, dry-cleaning, photos, liquor). we are so reliant on cars it is embarrassing. as for me, no scans for a while. i am too scared yet. love your pics - so glad to put a face to your words! perhaps i'll try my hand at uploading some but may have trouble locating any of me rather than my dog. lol.
Ellie- shew! i'm so glad to hear you are okay. such a scare! keep a good eye on those moles.
-
ellie - fantastic to hear some good news, and that you're ok. how about on the af front, has it appeared?
sb - fantastic pic, sure looks like you had a few, lol just kidding, dh looks like a bit of a cheeky one
-
Hello!!
LMAO Yes, i had had quite a few!! And my silly bosses had me rostered on for the morning bar shift!!! Lets just say i spent more time in the loo then behind the bar!!!!!!
And yes, DH is a cheeky one!!!!!!!!!! Dont let the shaved head and tattoo's fool you- he is hard on the out side, but he is all mush on the inside!!
oh, and i guess i should clarrify- i dont own the pub-:( but i practically run it (especially this week!!), so i like to lay a bit of claim on it!! Its got quite a lot of history actually. If you google Billinudgel Hotel it tells you all about it. Its been in the same family for over 80 years!! Mar Ring (my male bosses great Aunty) bought it in 1923. She was the oldest licencee in Australia when she died at 102 in 1983. Bob Hawke even came just after he won the election and she taught him how to pull a good beer!! Different taps here now- but still its pretty cool!! We celebrated the Pubs 100 year Birthday last year! It was heaps of fun!!
Ellie- So glad to hear all is well!!! I am still getting a few of my moles checked tomorrow!! Its nice to get good news when you have been worried!!
Speaking of the pub- i have some book work to do away from the comp- so i better get stuck into it and then i'll be back this arvo! Better do the right thing!!
Take Care!!
StarBright!!

Hey all,
I'm back, got back last night, i must say I wish it had been longer than 4 days away, just got into holiday mode & it was time to come home!
I've still got unpacking to do, but i'll be back later!
How is everyone?
-
Klee - Thanks for reminding me! No sign of AF...CD 35 today...mmm...maybe I'll buy a test when I do the shopping today. I need AF to arrive before the 22nd Oct to fit an ICSI cycle in before Christmas...so either way at least we're on the road again :)
Starbright - Not sure if it was you...are you studing Masters of Education or was is someone else?
Jo - Hope you had a great time...nice to be home?
Auntie M - How's things with you?
A big 'HI' to everyone else...hope you're all having a great day xxx
-
No Ellie- not me. I have taught Drama classes to young kids before- but i am not studying at the moment. Just working in the office at the pub and for a chicken farm (two businessess- one boss) and pulling beers when i have to!!
My plan 5 years ago was to have a few kids and study something to do with teaching and theatre by correspondance- then when the kids were ready for school i would go to work- We are a bit stuck on the having kids part- so i am still working on that !! And in the meantime i started working here at the pub- and i quite enjoy it. I still feel the urge to tread the theatre stage- but at the moment i am just consentrating on staying happy and ttc-ing.
Good luck with your testing!!!!!! Sticky vibes headed your way!!
Welcome home JO!!!! How are you feeling?
-
Auntie M-- you're roght on both states actually... I am from Texas but stuck in Ohio for 2 years 7 months and 14 days while my DH attends seminary. I miss the south and I miss the friends and family we left behind.

howdy everyone.
Starbright- your pub looks and sounds like such an awesome local place! our local pub just closed its doors for the first time in 75 years, so i am jealous!
Jo-welcome home!
Ellie-cd35 sounds pretty darn good.
CeCe- you know what they say, everyone has a connection to ohio. now you ARE the connection to ohio. :) hopefully you'll be able to get back to texas? or do they still keep pastors on the move? so hard on the family, i've always thought.
Klee-you must be glowing! it can't be the hair-unless it glows too! also just maybe your inner happiness is popping out a little in-between the bouts of m/s?
-
Morning all,
well, no sign of AF yet! so fingers crossed!
How is everyone?
-
Oh gl Jo, when were you due???
-
spring - thanks for the stella day info, mel let me know if your interested.
oooh jo, everything is crossed for you. what cd are you on?
sheree/aunty m - i don't think its a glow, althought it would be nice if it was, i never got one with phoebe's
-
Yeah I hear ya there Klee, my hair and skin was terrible when pregnant with Lachlan. I never glowed either!
-
Auntie M -- we will SO be moving back to Texas as soon as he gets his diploma. I really miss my extended family and friends. I care for my mom full time so I have her here.... but to be brutally frank, she hasn't been the wonderful woman who raised me since her stroke in 2001. So... I will be so excited to move back home and see everyone again. We will move anywhere in his conference area that the heads of the church org wants us to... but we will ultimately be in Texas. Thank GOODNESS! ( I would sell my DH for a good chicken fried steak)
jlk -- have you tested yet?
Mel - still nervous? butterflies can be wonderful. I am praying for you.
As for me.. I was charting my temp today and I hit the wrong button and FF overlayed my cycle with the cycle we conceived Eli. They are almost identical. I cried for a while and then what I do when I am down. Baked cookies and deep cleaned the bathroom.
Hugs to all!
CeCe

-
cece - big warm hugs hon, but that does sounds promising, everything that i can possibly cross is crossed for you and for a better outcome. chicken fried steak? what the?
