TTC after Recurrent Miscarriage/Stillbirth or Loss after the 1st trimester ~ OCT07#2

Me? I am not saying a word just yet... I have made a tentative appt with my GP on Friday for a BT as I'll be 13dpo but I'd rather make it now and cancel later IF I have to than try and get an appt closer to 13 dpo which is when I have had betas in the past. At least 13dpo will give me a good base number to compare. If the lines get lighter I'll cancel it. Feeling tired, nauseous, sore bbs, crampy so ALL good signs for me.

I just re read throught the posts- and you never mentioned lines before??? have you had a faint line???????? omigod I think its catching, thats three announcements in three days- and another on the way (you!!!- FAINT lines!!!!!)

I understand not getting too excited- but i already am for you!!! I am praying they get darker- fingers crossed...

CONGRATULATIONS NAOMI!

i think i may have figured out why im having MC - i think maybe its a progesterone problem! has anyone else got this problem? if so how do i overcome it - i have a appt with FS on the 4th december - im worried tho if i fall preg again before than (tho its not likely since i only MC on 7th November) it will be too late for me to get help and i will MC again!
has anyone got any advice?
im so scared of going thru a 3rd MC!!!

hi1981 I have found to sad experience that most Drs will only prescribe progesterone if they have treated you that cycle for IUI or IVF and they know your exact O date. They do not seem to trust BBT charting or your own OPKs it has to be theirs. I am hoping yuor FS will decide to monitor a cycle for you and then prescribe progesterone.

Thanks Judy - they talked about the fact that i may have to monitor my cycle for a few mths - but i really hope it dosent take me that long to fall preg again - if i do fall preg again soon what do i do??

hj1981, hi there.. I really don't know what to do if you fall pg again unmonitored. Maybe you can get your GP or OB to run a progesterone test but they won't usually. Though having had 2 previous m/c surely they wil run some tests of some sort to check all is going ok.
It is a hard place to be in coz I would be in the same boat if this one sticks.

I love my husband, but I would be ok if I don't see him naked for a while. LOL

i hopped on this board after my third trimester stillbirth this spring. i wanted to write and thank you for being here and to tell you we're pregnant again! im over forty and we're thrilled. we were encouraged to go to IVF asap, but it didnt feel right to us and we are happy to concieve naturally. best wishes to you all. h

Hey all, how is everyone?

so sorry to hear that Judy- :hug:
i had the same thing hppen last month when i tested day 28 of a 33 day cycle i got the faintest line- but then nothing for 3 days before AF arrived- i sort of tried to stay positve- and look at it as i must have gotten close- but close isnt good enough and it makes me wonder if there are more problems i have that i dont know about!!!
I am restraining from testing early this month (well i did one yesterday LOL but i knew it would be neg!! Just wanted to check!! LOL) but i will try really hard not to test before i am actually late- but then my cycle keeps getting a day longer- so it might mean even when i think i am late- i'm not!!!!
Geez louise this stuff gets complictaed and nerve wracking!!!!

I really hope for both of us that we can stop this horrible cycle of faint BFP's and finally get a real u beaut BFP that sticks and grows into a gorgeous little baby we can love and cherish forever. One day soon i hope.

HJ1981 Hey mate, howz things with you? Your appt is only like a week away, make sure you wirte down ALL the questions you can think of and have them written down on paper when you go in- if your anything like me you will be so overwhelmed you will forget half the stuff you want to know until you step out of the appt, and then kck yourslef for forgetting!!! Sorry i cant help with your progesterine prob- just ask the fs. I dont think you will fall before then- your body is still recovering from your m/c. Take care let us know how you go...

I agree Kat, lets hope these bfp's are catching, to be honest, ttc seems to be really getting me down at the moment.
It is possible that it could be just xmas coming up (wish I could skip it) or Storms b'day & thats why I feel pretty down atm.

Judy - try not to let it get you down too much! it will happen soon for you - as it will for everyone else! i guess we just have to wait a little longer than we want to!

Katti - i know my appt is not that far away - and thanks for the advice - i will definatly write everything down! as i have HEAPS of questions! i know i most likely wont fall before my appt but there is always that little glimmer of hope! do you know what is causing your M/C?

hj1981, my problem is it is now 3 yrs with only 3 m/c and 3 chem pg to show, and nothing in the last year and I am about to turn 44. I've had FSH and LH tests and a lap, hysteroscopy and HSG and a whole range of blood tests for recurrent m/c panel but nothing shows up wrong so it must be purely as they say... age. Have you had the blood panel done? I know some REs wait til you have 3 m/c which to my mind is a sick idea. I think one m/c is bad enough .. my worst one was the 11w4d one so the next time I was told I had no h/b I asked for a D&C that day.
Well tis time to wash the dishes and then settle down for the evening.

Jude - im sooo sorry to hear about all your bad luck! :( - i know what you mean about it being a sick idea to make a person wait until they have 3 M/C - it is wrong! M/C are a horrible thing for a peron to have to go thru!
i havent had a blood panel done yet! i hope maybe the FS i will be seeing on the 4th will be helpfull and send me away for all these tests!
Oh and your never too old for anything!!!!!

judy - how did you go today? i noticed your ticker says day 1 of cycle, i so hope its not right, i just looked at your chart too and I can see the line on the 11dpo, i just hope i'm reading the chart right.
cece - we were thinking of you on eli's due date, so hope the day was ok and you remembered eli in a fitting well. even with all your angst you still manage to make us laugh, your comment about your hubby cracked me up. my df is hounding me, all i can say is i'm closed for renovations, re-opening soon, he's not happy about that.
hj1981 - sb is right just make sure you write everything down and make sure you ask all the questions you can. i hpe you get some answers.

Hi ladies!!!

hj- thanks for asking bout me- i dont know exactly what all my problem is/are...
i have been tested for everything and it came back that i have anti cardio lipin antibodies which is a blood thing that can cause m/c or cause clots in the placenta like i had with my daughter most recently, i need to take aspirin once i get pregnant.
I have also lost a little boy due to organ problems- no answers for why that one happened, and no answers for my recent very early m/c (except that i was taking the aspirin Before i got preg instead of waiting till i was) or my m/c a few years ago

For ages it seemed i couldnt get preg- then i went through a stage where i fell ON the pill (later m/c) and now i am trying again i have had not much luck in the last few months. I have an appt booked to see another specialist on the 14th- Fingers crossed it will be my first appt pregnant- or if not- i will be asking for more tests and maybe we might figure it all out.

Like the other ladies have said- the dr's are not very emotionally sympathetic when they say have three m/c before they will investigate- after my first loss i was told "these things happen- you are young there is no reson to think it will happen again" and no tests were done- then i had the m/c and they said- well its not the same as what happened before- so there is no real test or reason- then when i lost Zahra my dr finaly said- ok maybe we need to do some tests, a lot of heart ache to go through before they accept that you might have problems that they can fix!!

The other thing with just having m/c is that they are actually REALLY quite common for a woman to have one and for it to be not so much something wrong with her that needs help- its just that sometimes the cells dont do what they r supposed to do- and an average women m/c alot in her life and simply doesnt know it- its only when ppl like us who are trying are fanatical about testing and stuff that it gets noticed- and there isnt much that they can do about the natural m/ces- they DO happen for no apparent reason (sorry but i know that your dr is going to hit u with that one- so be prepared, when i was told that i nearly punched the dr in the face!! LOL)

It doesnt make your pain any easier to bear though- but that is the main reason why they make you wait till you have had a few m/c before taking much action.

I think it also depends on how early or late you m/c- with my first i actually had a missed m/c- the little sac had stopped growing long before my body was ready to let it go, so i thought i was about 10-11 weeks, but at the scan it was only a little 5 week sac, where as with my last m/c i was just a few days late and got a few faint lines and low hcg blood test and then started bleeding- so in a tiny way i was kinda proud of my body- at least it had learned what to do and didnt hold on to it for those extra weeks when it didnt need to. IYKWIM

I know how you feel about it all getting you down- it just takes so much out of us all month- there is always something to think about- am i o ing- HAve i o'd do i feel anything yada yadda yadda And all that time we are supposed to be able to just go on as normal everyday- its sooooo hard!!! And yes- days like Storms due date and all those things are just constant reminders of what we have lost and dont have and REALLY REALLY want!!!

Hi girls - sorry a reeeeally quick one for me (I am at work and shouldnt be posting, naughty um mah!) but I wanted to tell Judy - I just looked at your 11dpo tests as well... I think you should go and buy a chemist one! I got even lighter lines than those (wouldnt even show in a photo) and my sister talked me into buying a chemist one - I bought Crystal Clear - and I got the darkest positive you could think to get and it came up really quickly. I was using the exact same tests as you, those cheapo dip sticks and even on day AF was due the darkest I got was your 11dpo one, I just dont think those ones show dark! And pg was confirmed by BHCG on Monday! :crossfingers: for you.

And Cece, big :hug: for Eli's anniversary. Hope you are doing ok.

Thank you Mel. I did use a Forelife (3 pk from Woolies supposed to measure 10miu) te same day I got my first line and got nothing on that.. although dumb me should know that even after a beta of 150 alst time at 13dpo I never got a line on that brand til 14dpo. I think I have one Crystal Clear from a couple of months ago so I'll do that one in the morning.

That is so great about your BFP though. you must be over the moon.

I am feeling very awkward about posting here because I know how hard it is when it seems like everyo ne is pg except you - believe me its happened to me many many times, but I still identify with you guys much more closely than any pregnancy forum so I hope you dont mind?

Judy, I agree with Mel. I have never got a BFP from a supermarket test even when I have been pg and even this time I tested on a cheapo in the morning and got a VERY faint line (almost thought it was in my imagination) but then I bought a Crystal Clear from the chemist and I got a dark line which came straight up immediately before my eyes!

I think its worth a go - even if just for your sanity?

I also had 3 m/c's before my specialist would do any testing and when I had my D&C for my 3rd m/c they "forgot" to test the "products"! Can you believe it??

I had all the blood and screening tests as well as 2 hysteroscopys and 2 lap's and they found nothing. Its the most depressing news because if you had a problem you could at least work on trying to fix it. I truly belive the thing that has got me pg (apart from my DH) is my treatment with an acupuncturist who also does chinese medicaine! A lot of people think its a crock but I firmly believe she has done more for me than any tests, medications, Doctors or anything!

Anyway, good luck to you all - I am praying for every one of you - pg or trying!

Judes i second and third mel and naomi's comments, let us know how you go with tomorrows fmu. i'm just trying to think back to mine, and i'm pretty sure i had the same thing for about 5 days after af was due, i got a chemist one and again showed up straight away. everything crossed for you. I was just looking at your charts and I noticed you named your last m/c Joey, i feel strange now, big hugs hon I'm so sorry.

Hi Klee. it ended up being Joey coz we tried to pick a non-gender name as we never found out for sure. So the name would have been Joseph or Joanna so Jo for short, then being we are Aussies and Kangarooos keep their baby in a pouch well it became Joey instead of Jo.
I am not even sure yet if I am pg or just seeing things and having fluky tests. I'll know for sure in a day or two hopefully. It just seems such a long time to have gotten to this point again. then again if I am, I am still to get past all the stages I had m/c's at, then 31 wks I got to with Belle...
It is a comfort to know others are going thru the same worries and fears. I know that sounds strange but you know what I mean.
Ethan we got to name coz we had the full spectrum of testing beng he was the 3rd m/c and he had perfect DNA, no problems, just me and that rotten infection from Joeys D&C.
Naomi I can't beleive they forgot to do the testing. That must have been a torment. Sounds like we have had pretty much the same TTC journey lately and tests. :hug:
