NO it's not too early Bailey. HCG levels are detectable in your blood before they are detectable in urine. From about 10 days post ovulation. Of course the levels will be lower then.

Some gps will do a dip test in their surgery and if negative (which sometimes will happen as the tests measure about 50 miu where chemist brands measure about 20 miu) and tell you to come back in a few days. INSIST. say I am getting positives - you know my history and I need the reassurance.

In the bad old days GP's and some obs wouldnt' see you until you were about 8 weeks along. This isn't so anymore or at least shouldn't be. Many women like us need that reassurance for good and valid reasons. So go confidently if you decide to do the btest. You deserve to know and you deserve to be listened to.
