Well had my clinic appt today which turned out to be very very frustrating!
The doctor i saw has only seen me once before and i'm not a huge fan!! He dismissed any issues with the growth discrepancy infact was dissmissive about most of my fears and questions (being a nurse i know i'm not always the easiest patient!) he then said see you in 2 weeks - what the! Firstly i thought i went to weekly visits from 34weeks second i thought they were inducing me at 36weeks (in 2 weeks?) and third i'm not happy going 2 weeks without monitoring given my little one hasn't gained much weight. I did however go to the appt in the hope that potentially i might get a date in the next week or so for delivery and i'm just so uncomfortable, bored and very very over it and hormonal that i was set off by his lack of interest or care. He then checked my bp which suprise suprise was elevated (i was on the verge of tears) I tried to explain to him that i get high bp with anxiety/stress and if left for a min it will come down (which is how all my other appts have gone) but once again he dissmissed that and sent me straight to pregnancy day stay for 4 hours of bp monitioring bloods and urine. He didn't even finish his consultation before walking me there and leaving me :redface:. The nurse was great and listened to my concerns i have asked not to be seen by him again and will be seen for monitoring Monday and clinic Friday so hopefully will get some better answers this week.
I know that the bubs are better off in me than having to go to the special care nursery but iv'e just had enough - i will calm down and begin to be rational - i'm off now to have a long bath and hopefully a good night sleep!
Sorry for the vent!!!!!!
xxBella
 oh poor you bella what an A-HOLE THAT DR IS :shakehead:
hope you get some more answers monday sweety ,enjoy that bath .
ooh Bella, I agree with smithy I hate it when you go to a appointment and come out frustrated with no anwsers thank god for the nurses. Hopefully you get some answers this Monday or Friday. Dig your heels in and ask them if they have a date for you, Your little one proberly wont put on to much weight anymore he may do better in SCU then in your tum.
I had the boys at 33 weeks similar to your weights and I had them home 3 weeks later its not a bad time to have them if they have to come.
I will keep poping in to see how your appointments went
Look after yourself

Hi everyone,
Well i am feeling much better after my breakdown on Friday and i'm trying to be positive - after all my boys will be here before i know it!
I spent 6 hours at the hosp yesterday for BP monitoring and they also did CTG monitoring. Bp remains slightly up but no need for medication atm - no protein in urine and bloods are all normal. Bubs seemed happy on the monitor - i even had a few contractions whilst being monitored!!
Babies have dropped further so i now am getting nerve pain in my groin!! Last night had some mild cramping and just felt very uncomfortable so DH and i went for a short walk - i let myself believe for 10min that MAYBE something was happening but no - i went to bed slept very soundly awoke at 4am to go to the toilet and was a little dissapointed .
Anyway what will be will be i have to go back to hosp for appt and more monitoring Friday but potentially roughly 10 more sleeps til induction?!
Take care everyone and give all my cyber neices and nephews lots of kisses!
xxxBella
Bella you are doing so well, they will be here before you know it and you will be so busy you will forget about the waiting time. Sleep while you can even though it is uncomfortable.
I will pop back in and check up on you.
Hi everyone,
Just a very quick update from me.....
Last night i ended up in hosp as i was having lots of back pain and heaps of mild (2/10) braxton hicks contractions, my bp was also elevated. So after monitoring and an internal (cervix soft but only 1cm dilated) i was given some panadeine forte to see if things slowed/stopped..... Things slowed so i went home... conclusion pre/very early labour. So i then had my clinic appt today where it was decided to hold off on induction (which was due to be Friday) and see if i progress further. So plan is ultrasound and monitoring Tuesday and Friday assuming the growth discrepancy isn't worsening i will be left to "see what happens" I also need to keep an eye on my BP as i have confirmed pregnancy induced hypertension.
So i feel good - obviously it's 10 times better to go natural rather than induction and they seem to be keeping a close eye on me so hopefully everything will be ok.
So i am now trying all the natural things - curry, walking (although so much groin pain!), rasberry leaf, and maybe maybe if i can convince DH some SEX!!!!!!
xxBella
Hey Bella good luck with DH :lol:, sounds like it could be happening soon how exciting keep us posted.
sorry for intruding again twin mums but have to send some labour vibes..... to BELLA
:goodluck: LABOUR VIBES COMING YOUR WAY SWEETY...
Hi everyone
Hope all my cyber neices and nephews are behaving themselves!!!!!
Just a quick update again!!!!
Had appt at hosp yest - it was great! I finally got some answers and a definate plan. I was scaned by an obstitritian/consultant and i had a bit of a winge about that other ****er junior doctor who keeps leaving me in limbo, i also complained that i felt i was falling through the cracks a bit and that i wanted a definate plan - she really listened and sympathised with me so from now i am only to be seen and looked after by her or her senior registrar .
So new plan - BP/monitoring Friday and review by the registrar in preg day care if all good then same again Tues but she will also do an internal on the Tuesday to see if i am dilated further then induction Friday 27th November . If i'm at least 3cm or so dilated they will just break my waters no need for the gel (which is great) This is all assuming i don't go natural in the meantime - so 9 MORE SLEEPS AT MOST FOR ME AND MY BOYS!!!!!!!
I feel so much better having a plan and i know i will be watched closely.
My scan yesterday was good but my little twin (twin2) is only 10th percentile now weighing 2.0 so they would like him in a bit longer if possible. Twin 1 was 2.6! But blood flow and fluid levels are perfect.
Please send lots of labour vibes my way!
xxBella
That is fantastic news Bella, I've been wondering how you have been. You have gone as far as I did, I had my girls at 36+6, so you've done a fantastic job. Both my girls were just shy of 2kg so, you're boys sound like they are a good size, hopefully they won't need to go into special care.
I take it both are head down? When the obst examined me I was already 2cm dilated, then I dilated another cm over night, so they just had to break my waters. It was all very quick from then on only a 4 hour labour for me, so lets hoping you get a quick one too! Wishing you all the best babe, can't wait to here some news of another set of twinny's in the world! xxx:goodluck:
:crossfingers::goodluck::crossfingers: LABOUR VIBES FOR BELLA
I'm still here!!!!!!
Lots of BH some painful mostly not though. Have kinda given up trying and am settled with the fact that there is only 5 MORE SLEEPS til i meet my boys!!!! (at the most!)
Monitoring on Friday was ok liver enzymes begining to rise so same again for Tues if ok then wait til Friday if not the process will begin on Tues.
Take care everyone will keep updating
xxBella

Azz So happy Cody and Harper are doing well, it is so lovely they are showing their little personalities already, hoping for some sleep for you :)
Hi to everyone else!!
Hi everyone,
I finally have 2 min to jump on and let you all know we are doing great!
Finally home we got discharged on Wed after 1 week 1 day in hospital - few issues with weight loss and jaundice with the boys and bp problems (i was quite ill for 48hrs) but all seems to be resolving.
The boys are really settled sleeping anf feeding really well - i'm expressing BM and giving it in a bottle with 1/4 formula as they are still to little to suck efficiently and i need to ensure they get their food as weight gain has been an issue.
Samuel my little boy has just hit 2kg he is so placid and loves skin to skin cuddles with his mummy. Jack my bigger boy is steadly gaining back his weight he needed to go under lights for 24hrs cause of jaundice but he is all good now. He also enjoys his cuddles he tried really hard today to have a breast feed but then got to tired.
They are feeding 3hrly which is getting very tiring so we are trying to get 4 hours out of them overnight but it's not working just yet! DH has been wonderful and it's truly a special time when we sit on the couch and feed together at 200am - i can't help but think about what we went through and how blessed we are.
I just love them both so much i can't put into words all the feelings and emotions - i will try to do a birth story and post some pictures when i can.
Hope everyone is well
xxBella
Hi all,
It's been a while since I've been on bellybelly. I have a 23 month old ds and we've just found out that we are now expecting twins. Only had our 12 week ultrasound on Tuesday so I don't think it has even sunk in yet!
I've back-tracked on some of the posts in here and I just wanted to say Congrats to Bella on the arrival of your boys. Great to hear that things are going well for you at home.
Hopefully I can share this new journey with you all!
Thanks, Kayla x
Bella that is just lovely to hear that you are home and the boys are doing well. You have done such a fantastic job, sounds like you have the right support from Hubby too. Us twin mummy's are certainly blessed, it is very very special, but also very very difficult to get through the first 3 months, so make sure you take time for yourself hunny. Big hugs for you and the boys.:grouphug:
Kayla, congratulations and welcome to the twin train! Looking forward to following your story, don't be afraid to ask questions, we will gladly help you get the info you need. I know I wanted to know everything about twin pregnancy when I found out.;)
BDT I haven't forgotten about you, just been flat out here, I haven't had time to sort out the girls clothes as yet, but when I do, you will definitely have first refusal. I hope you are well.
Congratulations on your babies Bella, try and take lots of photos because if you are anything like me your twins will turn 1 and the past year will be a bit of a blur! Such an exciting time though.
And Kayla how wonderful, huge congratulations.

Bless ya Smithy right back at ya hunny :) I hope you are well, wow I notice you are 31 weeks now, where has the time gone?
Traveller I just noticed that you are in Glasgow soon to be Geelong, I'm from the Uk been in Tassie for 2 years now. When you looking to make the big move then?
Sorry to go off topic ladies.
We arrived in Tas Oct 07, this is our 3rd Christmas. I'm from Milton Keynes and other half is from Bridlington E.Yorks. It was really tough having our twins out here with no family around us, but we've managed and are doing ok, so no big drama's. You wouldn't get me back in the Uk if you paid me!! We are here to stay for good if Australia will have us of course:lol: I guess the fact that our girls were born here, must give us a better chance of staying, I hope anyway.
Do you have family over here?
Hi Bella great news your boys are doing so well and they are at home with you. It must be a fantastic feeling for you DH to be able to help out I know the feel left out abit sometimes.
A birth story would be great I love hearing about everyones birth stories.
Rhyb Congrats to you my gosh I hope everything is going well and a births story from you would be great to only if you have time that is.
Kayla_b Congrats on your 2 little bundles how was you first 12 weeks? Like kezza said ask as much questions you like Im sure one of us can answer them for.
Hi Kezza, BDT.
AFM Harper and Cody are now going 4 hrs between feeds and are sleeping 5 hours at night which is great I'm hoping by 3 months they will be sleeping through the night. I have also got home care from the MBA some one comes over and looks after the boys for 3 hours a week for 6 weeks it been great I can spend time with DH get some chrissie shopping done and you can also catch up on some sleep if you wanted to she is great with the boys as a matter of fact she is here now playing with DH its all for free to so think about it. I took the boys in for thier Immunisation shots and meet 2 mums with twins and they have invited me to their playgroup so we are off to do that today. I will pop back in before Chrissie to see how everyone is going take care everyone

Hello everyone
Well, long time, no talk. I am very sorry, because I felt so supported in this forum. I hope I'm not too late to join back in. It's going to take me some time to catch up, but I wanted to say a massive congrats to Bella on Samuel and Jack, and to Azz on Harper and Cody. I missed you girls.
I won't write an epic here now, because I really want to catch up on everyone's news, but just thought I'd let you know that Hame and Lach are AMAZING!!! They are 14 weeks old already - I can't believe it. They've been sleeping from their last feed at night, til the first acceptable feed in the daytime since 8weeks. And they've just started having their last feed at about 9pm, so I'm getting really decent amounts of sleep.
We ended up being in ICU for nearly 5 weeks with them because they both had severe IUGR, but you'd never know it now. Hame needed cpap for quite a few days, Lach was under phototherapy lights for 4 days, and his poor little tummy bled for a while, but seriously, now they are such chubbas, you'd never never never know the rough start to life they had.
Hame is now 5.1kg!!! and little Lach is 4.4, so there is a big difference between them. But they're not identical, and Lach was only 1.2kg born, so not surprising.
Anyway, the key message of all of this is that I am still super happy, have not had yet a single 'bad day', and I reckon that the twin thing is nowhere near as bad as everyone (and the books) makes out! Maybe it's about expectations...!!!
Big love ladies
Jenxx
Jen so glad to hear from you. It sounds like your blissfully enjoying motherhood! The boys sound like they are doing great.
Azza glad to hear your boys are doing so well.
I would have to agree with you Jen - i don't think this journey (so far - touch wood!!) has been as bad as i imagined!
Everything is going well here! I would love for them to feed closer to 4 hourly rather than 3!! They are eating large amounts, putting on weight, they never cry unless they are super hungry and even then it's only for a min or 2. I am struggling a little with what to do when one wakes and is hungry right on 3 hours but the other is fast asleep. I wake the other and feed them so they stay on a similar schedule but quite often the one that is still asleep took longer to settle in the first place so i feel bad for waking him - any suggestions!!
The other question i have is i'm teahing them to self settle so they always go to bed awake but sometimes one or both are still awake after an hour or so - they arn't crying or even really grizzling i can just hear them nattering and grunting (they are wide awake though) i dont know weather to go in and try to get them to sleep or just leave them be??? I don't want to get into the habit of having to settle them but at the same time if one doesn't fall asleep for an hour i'm waking him to feed because the other one has woken and is hungry - i hope this question makes sense!
I feel great - a little more sleep would be nice but hey! We are managing to get out for walks and DH hired me a tredmill so i get on that and sing away to my ipod and it makes me feel so much better (it's only 15/20 min but it's a start!) DH is wonderful - and taking great care of me!
Merry Christmas everyone - what a great Christmas this year is!!.
xxxxBella
Hey Bella and Jenc!
Yay sounds like you are both doing great! You are very lucky to have such good support around you, it does make life a lot easier.
Bella I would just leave them if they are awake in their cots and are happy to be there. And I would keep going on the waking them at the same time to feed, as this free's up some of your time to get on with other things, otherwise it can feel like you are feeding all day! The one that took longer to settle will soon realize than when you put them in the cot you expect them to sleep and will be woken in due course. They will soon get into a synchronized routine, I think it was around 3 months when my two started a definite routine going. I put my two down for a nap at the same time, but they almost always don't sleep the same length of time. Jennifer seems to always sleep longer than Suzanna, but I guess although they might be identical, they are different little people so one might need more sleep than the other. I don't sweat it too much, I just go with the flow.
I've started mine on solids too, at first they weren't too keen, so I just tried them every now and then. Now Suzanna loves it, but Jennifer isn't too sure, it's a lovely stage as the faces they pull are soooo funny. When your guys start, make sure you have a camera handy, it's such a precious time.:D
It's so lovely to hear from you and to hear that you are doing so well.
