Hi ladies just an update from me.
Had scan today and I couldn't make anything out the boys are getting so big now that it is getting confusing they are both head up and flipped sides hmmmm. The sonographer was a quite one today some of them talk and talk and some are quite this one didn't give anything away. My OB popped in tonight and said that everything looks good and nothing much has changed from my last scan so she just wants to sit on it for now which is good, I know the longer they stay inside the shorter their stay will be in hossy but I wish I could go home for abit if the boys have to stay in :wall:
I better get some sleep for my busy day tomorrow.:lol:
Oh Azz you are doing such a great job :hug: That's fantastic news that they can stay inside a bit longer - as you said everyday is a blessing now. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for you to still be in hospital though esp with DD and DH at home but remember you will all be a big family together at home in no time. Keep it up lady - good job:lol::lol:
AFM - i am so excited DH comes home today :dance: He is never leaving me again!!! I have been so emotional over the past few days - just what the doctor ordered with my unstable BP - but hey hopefully i will be nice and calm by Friday having had some quality time with DH;).
Will check in later
xxBella
Thanks Miss Bella, I am going to take each day as it comes now. I have a scan on Thursday so we will see what these little boys are up to then. its my DD 2nd birthday on the 25th but we are going to have a little party on the following Saturday I ask my OB if I could go for a few hours depending where we are with the boys of cause and she said YES
Yaaaahhhhh DH is home have you told him he's not allowed to leave again:lol: oooh what pressies did you get?
Good luck with your scan today Azz, i'll be thinking of you - let me know when you can what the outcome is xxxxxxx
AFM - it's great having DH home - i got x2 pairs of fake desginer sunglasses, 2 wallets a pair of shoes and so cute he bought the twins a pair of martial arts shorts!!!
I'll check in later.
xxBeLLA
Hi just an update on boys they are stable OB is very happy she is getting excited cause I might make it to 32 weeks which is were she wanted me to be before all of this happened.
Awesome pressie Bella hope your doing well when is your next scan?
Azz that's great news - 'says the non pregnant stalker' - haha. I look for updates here every day. 32 weeks is not far off, I think you'll get there no probs. I will be tuning in to RPA next week, as a twin mummy is having her bubs delivered early due to umbilical cord tangling.
Anyway, glad to hear all is well.
Ausgirl yes I will be watching it on wednesday to I was abit annoyed that they had split it into 2 stories but can't wait to see what the out come is. Thanks for popping in:rolleyes:
Hi ladies,
Had my ob appt today to check my bp - all was good. So appt and scan next week! 27weeks today - yay i'm getting there - i must admit i am very egar for these boys to arrive (obviously i don't want them to really come yet!) i want to meet them and i don't really want to keep growing
Thrilled to hear the boys are stable Azz - wow who would have thought you would make it to 32weeks!!! When did you go into hosp was it 25-26weeks? you are doing so well keep it up!
will check in later.
xxBella
 oh wow all you girls are doing a wonderful job cooking theses babies i take my hat off to you all and cant wait to see some bubs being born ( not just yet though lol ) stalking you all.
Azz - just wanted to mention - your little green light came on - did you notice!
That great new Bella about your BP. Yaaaaah 27 weeks my gosh how time flys. Yes I was 25 weeks when I came in here and I am so over it now I really want something to happen as in YOU CAN GO HOME that would be musi to my ears. How are you founding it when you walk around now or even sleep, my back aches alot and when I walk and my hips get really sore when im sleeping m getting really uncomfortable now.
Ausgirl No I didn't notice it what does it mean?
Thanks Smithy
Hello ladies :p
How the hell are you all? I have had a quick skim through and found a Triplet mummy on here!?! Good lord, how you going with that? Sorry can't remember your name, the thread is soooo long now. Have we had any births since mine? I have just got my two going through the night, hence I have time to come on and check on my twin mummy's:p I can't tell you what a relief it is to be finally getting some decent sleep:dance:
Things have been going pretty well considering we have NOOOOO help, what with living on the other side of the world to family and friends! Had a few hairy moments with hormones and lack of sleep, inevitable I guess. But now that we are both getting our sleep things have been a bit easier. Hard work but loving every cuddle and we are getting smiles now too so that's just lovely.
Anyway will be popping in every now and then to check on my favourite ladies;)
Kezzabird - it was so lovely of you to drop by  i was thinking about you last week actually and wondering how life after pregnancy was going  Take care and we would love to hear more stories, tips, advice, what not to do, what is working etc etc etc please anything i'm sure will help!!!!!!!!!!
Azza - Hope your holding up strong. Whens the next scan ?Monday. If you were in Melbourne i would be coming to visit - you are an inspiration lasting so long in a hospital bed!! 6 more sleeps til 32 weeks!!!
Hi to everyone else out there.
AFM - well yesterday was really uncomfortable - i think my larger twin on the right has moved up or ever possibly flipped - my tummy all down the right side was sticking out and was SOOOOO hard and i could feel him pushing under my ribs - i have a lopsided tummy  Ithink the other is laying low. My back is begining to play up again and walking yesterday was a chore (it's not usally that bad) i may have even well and truly been waddaling (?spelling)!!!! My hips get sore at night. Anyway enough whining from me as i know i don't have it that tough and certainly not as bad as others. It's been nice to have DH home but he has worked the last 2 night shifts with 2 to go - so i'm still alone!!!!!!!
Have a lovely day everyone and i will check in later tonight.
xxxxxxBella
HI Ladies,
Kezza thanks for popping in so good to here from you. I second what Miss Bella said any advice would help us. I often think about how you are going but we all know how busy you would be. Glad to here you have some sort of sleeping routine now how long did it take? I can't remember how old your girls are now but it feels like you just had them. Please pop back in when you can.
Hi Miss Bella I don't think those ache pains ever go away just trying to roll over in bed is a bit painful for me now and if you think your tummy can't possibly stretch any bigger OMG it does some how. I know what you mean about the lopsided tummy how funny does it look:lol:.
AFM I have another growth scan Tomorrow at 9.00 can't wait to see what is going on in there. I had a bit of an episode today tummy tightenings and period like pain they put some hot packs on my tummy and back and the tightenings have gone but the ache pain is still there I think the boys are telling me that they are running out of room:rolleyes:
I will pop in tomorrow and give you an update.
Take care of yourselves xxxxxx
Hi ladies
well I have no idea where the last week and a half has gone, but I wanted to let you all know that we did it!!!
We welcomed Hamish Charles and Lachlan Edward into the world last wed - 09.09.09.
Both boys were much smaller than we expected - Hish was 1.46kg and Lachlan 1.23kg- but both are doing supremely well and now out of intensive care and into the special care nursery.
I am one blissed out mama and cannot describe how much I love them. It's so intense.
C-sec was a really positive experience, Bf going reasonably well so far, and mama and daddy just enjoying staring at our little miracles :)
sorry it's taken so long to let you all know what's happened!!
Thinkng of you all
Jenx
Yay! So glad everything went and is still going well for you Jen.
Oh Jen - so great to hear from you - WELL DONE AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great to hear they are both out of ICU. Can't wait to hear more stories - but we obviously understand there are only so many hours in a day. Take care xxxxxxxx
Azz - good luck today will be thinking of you.
xxBella
Congratulations Jen!!! What wonderful news, I know only too well how much of your time it takes up when visiting your wee ones in special care nursery, all that expressing too, it takes it's toll. Don't forget to take good care of yourself hunny it's soooo easy to get too focused on the bubs and forget about yourself.
Ladies if I can give you one piece of advice that is really important it's TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!!! Taking care of the babies is soooo much hard work, but then you knew that, but once the honeymoon period is over when visitors and helpers have gone and it's just you and the babies it is really overwhelming. Mix that in with no sleep and hormones and you have a recipe for a freaked out mom. That's what happened to me. I forgot to look after me, I was too focused on bubs, some days I wasn't even getting a shower and staying in PJ's all day. I wouldn't say I had PND but definatley mild depression. Make sure you get to the hairdressers or get yourself and the babies out into some fresh air, even if it's just for a little while, it makes soooo much difference.
To get bubs through the night, I kept things quiet at feed times, no talking or smiling at bubs you must give as little interaction as poss, you don't want them stimulated at all at night time. And try to keep lighting to a minimum, just quietly change nappy feed, then put back to bed, then get the other one up and do the same. If you don't do the other one straight after he or she will only wake in a couple of hours anyway, so best to get them both done at the same time. They soon learn that night time is for sleeping and not having a chat and play :-) Another important thing to remember is if your babies are unsettled at night, comfort them and put them back in their cot as long as they have full tummies and clean bottoms there is no reason why you can't leave them to cry for 5 minutes, if they are still crying after that comfort them again but make sure you put them back into their cot, don't make the mistake of bringing them into your bed or else they will learn that if they cry they get to sleep with mom and dad. Babies learn really quickly, to get them to sleep properly at night will make your life soooo much easier. I did this method with my 5 year old boy when he was a baby too and had him sleeping through the night at 5 weeks!! Of course this may not be acceptable to all parents but it certainly worked for me and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again if I had anymore kids (which of course I'm not going too!!:p)
I'm thinking of you ladies that are sooo close, keep up the good baking girls;) Azz are you in Hosi babe? I've been skimming posts again, I really don't have time to read through everyones. I hope you are all well, it's sooo hard in those last few weeks.
Keep safe
Kezza
x
Hi Gals ... am always skimming this post to see where you are at but never have the chance to post. cant believe my bubbas are 3.5 months and thriving well. they are v cute now and interact alot. I just had to post after seeing kezza's post! that is so great your are sleeping through the night. i wish mine were. they do do long stretches now, but am finding i am still up through the night whether it be settling or giving them another feed (somtimes not as much as during the day). now finding they wake around 5am and cause there is sunlight coming through and no longer dark they want to be awake, even if insist and put them back in cot ... they start gurgling and gaga ing ... but agree i do the keeping things quiet and they fall straight back asleep, but dont know how to make them sleep for longer stretches. A good stretch is 6 hours and that is rare - the average good stretch is 4 hours. how many hours do yours sleep for kezza and do you have a routine going at all? What about BF'ing? I have been doing formula and BFing since day 1 but slowly slowly am doing more bottles as they are now big eaters.
Am wishing u all lots of luck with your births and babymoons. It all goes so quick .. it is definitely hard work but wouldnt give it up in a heart beat. have been lucky to have help (in the form of mohter in law - who leaves next week) so shall be interesting!!!!!! esp now that they are a bit bigger and a bit more demanding and arent so sleepy he he! Agree with kezza look after yourself when u can and get out - a ride in the pram and car are big faves for my munchkins!
Mon :)
Hi mummies,
Jenc soooooo good to hear from you all that waiting in hossy and your beautiful boy are hear. I forget that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Good to here they are out of NICU and have graduated to special care. Great to hear you c-section was a positive experience as I am freaking out a little bit about it but I think I am over analising it. WIsh you all the best with BF and getting them home, pop in when you can would love to hear how you are travelling.
Kezza thanks for letting us know about the sleeping pattern you have. I have routine in my head and I can only picture what I am going to do in my head but of course it could change once they are with me. I found a good routine with my DD worked really well but who knows if it will work with the boys. I also got baby blues when I had DD not sure what was going on but I kept crying for no reason I put it down to BF and lack of weight she was putting on. Yes Im in hossy on bedrest been here for 6 weeks grrrrrrr.
Mon whaooooo has it been 3.5 months time flys thanks for the advice good luck with everything expecially wit the sleeping through the night thing.
Bella is your next scan this week?
Thanks Ausgirl
AFM I had my growth scan today twin A is 1200g and twin B is 1900g the little one has put on some weight but they say they are both doing ok and said there is no reason to pull them out yet which is fine with me. The sonographer doctor also said that 34 weeks should be the cut off if they haven't come by then he see no reason for them not to be born by then but of cause It is up to my OB he will suggest some date to her so can't wait to hear what she has to say. I will be seeing her tomorrow.
Happy travelling Mummies xxxxxx
Oh Azz sorry to hear you've been is Hossy all this time, how horrible for you, you must be going stir crazy. But you are in the right place babe, your babies weights aren't too bad, are they giving you steroid injections to boost their growth?
Mon, it's great to hear from you, I kept looking out for you before I had mine, I was itching to hear how things went. Yours are exactly a month older than mine :D Sending you a mahoosive high five girly, I feel like doing that every time I see other twin mummies in the street :-) And the other mums that look at you with pity and say oooooh twins that must be hard work, I feel like saying No **** sherlock!! But of course I just smile sweetly :D Mine aren't going through the night yet, but 7 hours is a break through :-) If yours are going 6 hours your half way there, it'll soon click your doing all the right things so just keep at it. Hats off to you for keeping up the breast feeding, I couldn't keep up with demand, I have a 5 year old to take care of too, I was just exhausted, I did last 3 weeks so I thought that was pretty good. I have invested in some cloth nappies though to try and save some pennies on disposables. I'm not solely using cloth ones, I am using disposables at night and on day trips and clothies during the day at home. Some came today that I bought on Ebay, they are from Babybehinds, they are absolutely gorgeous, am soooo pleased I got them.
Anyway I could go on for ages talking baby stuff had better go and get myself off to bed, babies have just gone down for the night so I should be in for some decent sleep again tonight:)
Night night loverly mummy's ;)
Hi ladies
OK I now can see the light at the end of my hossy tunnel, My OB came in today and said she has me booked in for a c-section on the 2nd October I will be 1 day short of 33 weeks  I am so happy that I have a plan now and I can still go on my day leave to DD birthday on Saturday. There will be a week between my DD and the boys birthdays, but thats if nothing happens before then. I have a doppler scan book in for thursday so hopefully the are still behaving.
Kezza yes steroid shorts every week it bloody hurts.
Hope you mummes are relaxing xxxx
Oh that's great news, you've done so well.
YAY AZZ..... THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL...WELL DONE
Thats fantastic to finally have the end in sight. As Ausgirl said - you have done so well. I hope everything goes ok with your scan today - look forward to hearing.
Well AFM - i have my first twin specific education class tonight and then scan and appt tom. Nothing really to tell here - i'm going to buy a dressing gown today from Sussans they have some really nice ones and i figure it will help to keep me decent whilst in hospital!!! Have been thinking about begining to get my hospital bags organised - just in case - it seems early but you never know and i don't really want to leave it all to DH. I feel massive no changes there! Oh and **warning TMI** i think my left breast leaked some colostrum yesterday! I noticed on my nice white singlet a patch about size 10c piece when i got changed last night????
Oh and did anyone watch RPA last night - about the twins i cried and cried the husband looked so cute and excited!!!
Take care ladies
xxBella
Hi Bella,
That is a great Idea about packing your bags now you just dont know what might happen, Yes susans have some great PJ stuff I have got some slippers and a gown from there. Hope you enjoy your education class tonight, do shear some info, Can't wait to hear about your scan. I missed bloody RPA show I was looking foward to watching it but I had a few phone calls lastnight and forgot all about it grrrrrr. Might see if I can watch it on the net.
Thanks Ausgirl.
MY scan is pretty much the same as monday so OB has said that I can go for the whole day on Saturday I CAN'T WAIT, she also told me that the c-section is scheduled in for 8.30am so I am abit nervous about it but she has gone through it all with me.
I will pop in later
Hi Azz - have a great day tom at dd birthday. You will be glad to be let out of jail for at least a few hours!!!
AFM - just very quickly had a great appt today boys are growing blood flow is good and fluid levels perfect. Twin 1 is 1170g and twin 2 is 1000g - yay both have hit the 1 kilo mark. I am begining to feel like we may be on the home stretch - next appt and scan 2 weeks when i will hit 30 then i think time should really fly. My blood pressure was also good so it was a relief. Anyway better go DH is getting annoyed at me on the computer!!! Will check in later or tom.
xxBella
 thinking of all you twin mummies your doing great,i love watching your journeys your all very clever girls carrying these bubs  carrying one is hard enough pmsl
Hi Bella whaoo your twin 1 is nearly the the size of my little one Im hoping he wll put on some weight before Friday. Thats great news your little men are doing so well, I just know you are going to go all the way. If we stayed close to each other we could catch up for a coffee after the boys are born. There is another twin mummy in here I was thinking of popping in to say hello she has a little boy. The nurses have told us to catch up but I don't want to intruded if she has a visitors or is having a nap. I might see if the nurses can set up a time for us to meet.
AFM I had a great time yesterday DD loved it she got to eat what ever she wanted and she also got a heap of pressies. It was so good to be home, when I got home I laid on my bed for about 20 mins it felt so good not long now.
Keep on baking xxxx
Hi Azz,
How are you feeling about Friday? God i an't beleive it's coming so quickly. My girlfriend had her little girl at 32 weeks last January weighed 1500g she had been given the steroids after her waters broke a week before. Her little girl did fantasticly - she needed feeding with a tube to begin with but then began putting on weight and was breast and bottle feeding by the time she went home. She needed no help with breathing i don't even think she had any oxygen needs at all. She had a vaginal birth and was able to cuddle her for an hour before she went to SCN. Today she is a checky little girl happy and healthy. Thought that a nice story may cheer you up! I have been saying little prayers for you and will continue!!!;)
Is your mum still there helping out with DD?
Hello to everyone else who may be lurking!!
AFM - very tired the past few days - have been sleeping almost 12 hours a night! I'm not complaining since this is probably the last time in my life i will be able to!!! All good otherwise - usual aches and pains but hey that what carrying twins will do!
Take care everyone
will pop back later
xxBella
Hi all,
Finally finding time to pop in and say hi!
My girls arrived on 7/7/09 - they are now just over three weeks. After I went into hospital my high blood pressure quickly developed into pre-eclampsia and I ended up having a ceasar about three days later. I was 36+2.
Twin A was born at 2.35kg and came up to the ward with me. She fed well from the beginning and today was weighed at 2.74kg!!
Twin B was born smaller, only 1.87kg. She went straight to intensive care and was on oxygen at first and was fed by tube. She came off oxygen after 15 hours, but stayed in intensive care for three weeks while she learnt to feed by sucking. She came home with Mum and Dad yesterday and we're very happy to finally have both our little girls home with us.
Hope you're all doing well, my thoughts are with you all who are holding your little babies in there.
Argon xx
Hi Bella thanks for that lovely story I have been thinking about friday and what is going to happen but I think I will just go with the flow and try not to over analise it. My Mum is still here and my Dad and brother came down as well hoping that the boys come when the are here My Dad leaves on Saturday great timing and my brother leaves following Wednesday I am happy that they get to see the boys before they leave.
I reacon once you hit the 25 week mark you hit a wall and have nana naps everyday but your right make the most of it now, I was just thinking the samething today I love my sleep and thought this is my last week for nana naps even though the boys wont be in my room I still have to get up every 3 hours and express milk.
Argon :happyforyou: yah they are home with you. Thanks for popping in I have been thinking about you. Im glad to hear your little one is doing well.
AFM im having alot of nana nap lately but not really up to much I have started a journal which has been good thiking about the early days.
Hope everyone is doing well and relaxing as much as you can I will defiantly pop back in before friday.
Yay Argon congratulations!! Yours came 2 days before mine, glad everything is ok:D
Azz glad you were able to get home for the birthday party, I've been thinking of you guys baking away, you are doing brilliantly!
Afm We've got the girls going through the night now:dance: Yay they sleep for 10-12 hour stretches, I can't tell you what a relief it is, I spose the next difficult stage will be teething.
Kezza that is great sleeping through the night at 2 months :clap: Whaoo I am really going to pick your brain when the time comes. What are you doing up at 10.25pm is it mummy time  How are you going with BF are you using a BF pillow got any advice on expressing, Sorry about the questions.
How you going Miss Bella?
Spoke to OB yesterday and everything is all set for friday just waiting for the anesthesologist to come down and have a chat about his role then bring on Friday oooooh
My goodness - Kezza, you gave me a shock there when I read yours were sleeping through the night and you said they'd been born 2 days after mine! Then I realised I had said mine were born 7/7/09, when in reality they were born 7/9/09. Imagine sleeping through at 3 weeks!! :) Congratulations on acheiving that though at 2 months - hopefully my girls will do the same! At the moment we are not letting them go more than 4 hours between feeds. The little one is so little and gets sleepy but she really needs to eat so we wake them both to keep them in the same cycle. We're hoping she'll crack 2kg by this weekend. I think once she's over 2.5kg I'll start to relax about letting her sleep longer, but for now I just need to keep her gaining weight so they don't take her back to the NICU.
Thanks for your good wishes Azz. I think of you also. I hope this Friday goes well for you - I'll be sending you good luck vibes.
Cheers, argon
Good morning ladies,
Azz - wow 1 more sleep     i can't believe the day has almost arrived! I wish you all the very best for the safe delivery of your precious boys. I can't wait to hear but understand your priorities will change just a little and BB won't be the first thing on your mind :lol:. You have done so well and are a true inspiration.
Kezza, Mon, Argon and Jen please cont to come and update us with tips - i'm kinda here on my lonesome now!!!!!!!
AFM - All good here we have our second twins education session tonight - i didn't get much from the first but am hoping this one will be better i think it's on breastfeeding and we get a tour. My boys are moving heaps - i am begining to get my bags organised - you just never know! I'm kinda begining to get a bit over it all now esp late afternoon and early evening when i'm so uncomfortable - but obviously i want them to stay put for as long as possible - and i have a feeling that will be a long while yet!!!!
Better go - will check in later
xxBella
OMG Bella you are nearly 29 weeks whaoo. Todays educational class should be abit better as you are going to see the delivery suite ooooh it makes it all really when you go on your tour. Thanks for your kind words and surpport through out my rollercoaster ride.

DH hasn't told his family the boys are coming out tomorrow he wants it to be a surprise for them but they keeping ringing me up and asking for updates, I tell them I wont know till Friday.
I will pop back in tonight
