Hi Ladies!
Kezza - Hmmm, certainly not easy with so many kids...although it's okay when the older kids are at school more of a battle during the school hols though. But all is good once everyone gets along with everyone... I know it does DH's head in, but he loves them (even the 3 older from me).
I hope you can have bubs soon...pretty hard on your body right now, maybe your doc will induce you soon. Rest your feet up or soak in warm salty water every night before bed...might need DH to help with that though...I hope everything turns out well for you kez.
Azz - hope everything goes well for you... your doc will fix this for you, it'll be okay. :)
My scan went well, thanx for asking. Will be seeing the doc on the 3 July, i can feel kicks (mainly the right side) and bubs likes listening to the music which I put them through whenever I can.
MBP - Hi there! I'm very new here, probably why I don't have the PM available to me yet, thanx for your email add, will keep in touch. I live in Gero...rain and windy right now. Where abouts in WA are you?
cheers all...xx

Hi Ladies
I had my OB appt yesterday and she said the babies are doing great just the fliud thing which she doesn't seem to worried about It. She measured my tummy and I am measuring at 26 weeks and I am only 18 and a half weeks I couldn't believe it she said hello you have 2 babies in there we started to laugh. I honestly cant imagine being 30 weeks and past I really feel for you Kezza your poor little body being stretched to its limits I hope your OB can help you get more comfortable or get those little princess out:lol: keep you chin up its nearly over. Get you hubby to massage your legs but if he is anything like my hubby then I wouldn't go there:lol:
My OB also said she doesn't see any reason why I can't go to Darwin Its only going to be a week, if they need me to do more scan then I will be back in time so I can't wait bring to the warm weather.
Hobbes that great your scan went well I can feel movements from my belly button down but its all over the place.
-
Hobbes ~ I am in Mandurah, wet and windy here to at the moment.
azzrenae ~ Great to hear all is well, and bubs are going so well. Hope to see you over at the other place. ;)
-
Azz that is really good news:D
My obst gave no indication of letting me go early, he just gave me the nod and said I'll see you in 2 weeks!!! Bloody hell that will take me to 37 weeks:doh: Everything is ticking along nicely Blood pressure is ok and both are head down, which is great news. I also spoke to the senior midwife and we discussed things like contraception and support after the bubs are born etc. She also said that considering the size of the bubs and the size of me, she thinks it won't be long now. I hope she is right:pray: I have another scan on friday, so it will be interesting to see how much they have grown in the last two weeks if at all. I can't believe I have come this far, I really thought they'd be here by now.:twin_neutral:
-
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum. I'm 25+ weeks with identical girls, my first (and pssibly last!!!)babies. Things have been pretty good so far, all told.
I have a cold this week and it's making me very grumpy to deal with that while pregnant. I have no stomach muscles left and when I cough it hurts my stomach! But my OB says it sounds muscular, nothing to worry about. Otherwise, I really can't complain. I feel pretty good.
Azz - I'm not too far ahead of you, and have had a bit of a similar roller coaster to you. We had a high NT for one twin at 12 weeks, and they were measuring a week apart. The doctor told us it could be chromosomal, or it could be heart problems in the smaller twins, or it could be TTTS. We ended up doing a CVS which ruled out chromosomal problems, thank goodness. Our 20 week scan showed the 4 chambers of the heart and everything seems fine there too.
As for TTTS, I've been having fortnightly scans since 12 weeks (which is nice because I get to see my little girls so often!!) to monitor the situation, and all seems ok, fingers crossed. The girls are still one week apart, but they are both growing and they are both within the normal range for their gestation. Make sure you ask about the fluid levels in the sacs and whether they can see the bladders for each bub at each ultrasound, because these are more accurate indicators of TTTS than their growth.
Anyway, stay positive, because every week they are in there they are that much closer to being ok. And there are things they can do if TTS develops, as I'm sure you know. I'm thinking of you and your bubs. xx

Hi there and welcome. Need to chat to another twin mummy feel free to email me

The ladies here are great listeners. :p

Hi everyone,
Sorry i have been MIA again - i do read and keep up with you all alot i just don't seem to always have time to post!
Azza - thats great the ob doesn't seem to concerned - i hope everything settles down i will be thinking of you Tuesday. Darwin warm weather - i'm jelous!!!
Kezza - oh my god you are making me nervous  I feel so big already i can't begin to imagine how stretched to the limit you must be i'm a bigger person but am really feeling it particularily if i'm really inactive and laze around my lower back pain and sciatica really plays up. I'm sure if you continue to feel so bad you could try to go back to your ob earlier and beg for induction! Take care hun and try to keep your feet up. xx
Argon - Welcome we love having new people to join and share stories! Hope your cold goes away quickly rest up.
Big hello to everyone else - look after yourselves. xx
AFM - Well i'm traveling along well - on night shifts atm  which is taking away any extra energy i had! I am looking at finishing work at 24 weeks so kinda begining the count down 9 weeks 3 days to go which = 31 more shifts :lol:
I am now 14 weeks 5 days have next scan on Friday which we are praying we will be able to find out the sex - when did everyone else be able to know (obviously excluding those who found out by CVS) by scan? I am getting huge - but i am loving it atm i know i will regret saying that but hey! Still not feeling movements but still get stretching pains intermittently today they have been really unhappy and are giving me grief left lower side.
Take care everyone and i will endevour to post after my scan on Friday.
xxBella
-
Hey Bella, glad to hear you're enjoying your pregnancy back ache aside. We found out the sex at 20 weeks, but they wouldn't give us a 100% positive on it. I waited till the next scan I think at 24 weeks until I went mad with the pink!!! Good luck with the scan and don't work too hard!
-
Kezza - hang in there! Those last weeks are really tough but the longer you can keep those girls in there, the easier it will be for you all when they arrive. (I know you know that - I think it just helps to have reassurance that those last, tough weeks will end!) My girls were born at 37 weeks 3 days and I was so lucky to be able to take them home from hospital with me. The pain is worth it if you can avoid special care for those bubs! Having said that, I can well remember telling my husband that I couldn't face another night being pregnant and that the babies had better come NOW because I'd had enough! :D You can do it - not long now!
Bella - hooray for the work countdown! I don't know how anyone works a physical, up-on-your-feet kind of a job in the last stages of pregnancy. I feel for you!
Argon - Welcome! hope TTTS stays away for you. Sorry to hear you are unwell. Being sick in pregnancy stinks. I too had an awful cough when I was pg with my twins and I think it contributed to my (ouchy!) abdominal muscle separation (which still hasn't healed 13 months on!). So do what you can to protect those poor, strained tummy muscles when you cough.
Azz - glad your OB isn't too concerned about the fluid. Hopefully things continue to be good. ENjoy Darwin! We were just up there in May at the start of the dry season. the weather was beautiful! I could do with a bit of that northern sunshine to dry my laundry right now!
Hobbes - eep - 7! You're going to get so tired of the 'you've got your hands full' comments!! :) Sounds like you're going to have 4 little ones for a good while. HOpefully you'll have some willing helpers in your teenagers?
Jen - hope the pelvic pain isn't getting too much worse. yuck!
We're a house full of sick girls around here. Snotty colds for all three little girls and me as well. I am learning that life with 3 small children is very very rarely illness free. Oh to all be well and healthy again! Needless to say, DH is keeping his distance from all of us so I am on nose-wiping duty alone! Off for a hot shower, fluffy dressing gown and mug of tea. goodnight all!
-
Hi everyone
My pelvis is finally getting better! Hoorah. Hopefully I'll be back at work in a week or so (not that I love my job that much, but I just don't want to 'go out on a low' if you know what I mean. i only wish I didn't have to go back at all!).
Kezz - argh!!!! You're so so so close. Best of luck and think - so soon you'll be meeting your little darlings. How exciting!
Bella - we found out the sexes at 18 weeks 6 days. I have read though that it is possible to tell from about 15 weeks onwards. So fingers crossed for you! Make sure you let us know!
Big hello to everyone else - still on much shortened sitting stints!!
Take care and have a lovely weekend.
Jen
-
oh Bella - forgot to say - My ob used to do a scan at each appointment - it wasn't very high resolution or anything - just to check heart beats. At about 12 weeks he told me he could take a guess at the sex and said it looked like 2 girls but emphasised it was a guess only. He was right though. So if your babies cooperate you just might get to find out what flavour you've got. :) Generally they can tell the sex pretty accurately at the morphology scan (usually 18-22 weeks)
-
Good Afternoon twin mummies,
Bella Ihope those babies of yours don't move around to much for you so you can see what sex they are and yah for that finishing time of work it gives you something to look forward after those night shifts. glad to hear everything is travelling on nicely with you and bubs. Can't wait to hear about your scan.
Jenc glad to hear your plevis pain is getting better do you have a tummy brace. I got 1 with first pg and it was great it helped me with the weight of my tummy. I wear it now and again when my back is starting to hurt. It feels like someone is walking around with you holding your belly up. I got mine from a pg physio.
Argon :welcome: it does sound like we are going through the similar thing. Their bladder and heart beats are perfect for their size just got to try and get my amniotic fluid up for little bub there is enough fluid in there but not as much as the big one. Got another scan on tuesday to check fluid plus they are going to do my 20 week scan at the sametime, they said it will take about 1 and half hours my poor bladder. I reacon after each scan I sit on the toilet for about 5 mins it feels so long sorry TMI:lol: Are your twins natrual or IVF? I hope everythig runs smoothly for you and your bubs.
Hannah my DD has a cold as well you feel so sorry for them cause they can't just get up and blow there nose for some relief and they and their little voices sound so funny poor little girls. Hope they feel better soon oh and of cause you to
Kezza 2 more weeks seem so far away hopefully your little bubs are ready to come before then. I have everything crossed for you.
MBP haha I have been there just trying to find my way around not sure where you are hiding.
It great to hear everyone is travelling on nicely and waiting for our babies to ripen
-
Hello everyone,
Just a very quick one from me...... We had our scan today we are having two very happy and healthy looking BOYS!!!!!!!! DH is so excited as am i. The fluid levels are great and they are both measuring within days of each other and perfect sizes for dates... we are very very happy.

Fanbloody tastic news Bella!!!:dance::happyforyou:
I had another scan today, they are both head down, one measuring 4lb9oz and one measuring 4lb7oz. I went and hired a Tens machine today too for the next 2 weeks, after that the hospital will give me a Tens machine free of charge anyway. So hoping to go drug free for as long as possible. I must be bloody mad!!!

Thats Fantasic Bella Boys whaooo:happyforyou:
Kezza great sizes:dance:

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the warm welcomes. It's nice to have found a twins forum with some action and such a great bunch of mummies at various stages!
Fantastic news about your boys bella. We found out we were having girls early on through CVS, but my sonographer usually comments on how "girly" they are looking when I go in for scans. Most times they'll do a perfect little flash of their privates for us! Hannah - very impressive work by your OB getting it right at 12 weeks!!
Azz - that's great that the bladder and hearts are perfect. I know that I always feel reassured by the visible bladders. My twins are natural, so it was a bit of a surprise for us, but so fantastic, I feel so lucky, especially since I've always wanted to have two girls. What about you? I'm sure you've mentioned somewhere in here already!!
AFM - my cough is almost gone, which is a relief for me. I've gone through a whole jar of honey and about 10 lemons in the last 2 weeks because honey and lemon tea was the only thing that could stop me coughing since I didn't want to take any cough syrup or anything else. I've got my glocose challenge coming up next week and do hope I haven't given myself gestational diabetes with all of the sugar in the honey!! Don't know if that is possible or not?!?!
-
Congrats Bella!!! How exciting. Let the shopping begin!!!

Hi lovely ladies,
Just another quick post from me - sorry!
Thanks for the congrats - i have been out and bought some clothes/wraps and we have finally put 2 cots, drawers, pram, changetable on laybye oh god it's feeling so real. Still holding my breath to feel them move and for our big 18weeks scan - i don't think this anxiety will ever really go away!
Azza - how are things going - you must be in Darwin now - oh sunny hot Darwin!
Kezza - how are you travelling - not long now - hope your resting up and just incase i wish you all the very best for a safe, happy and hopefully not to painful arrival of your precious girls!!
Hi to Jen - hope your back and hips are somewhat getting better and causing you less pain.
Argon - GL with your GD test - no you can't "give" yourself GD!
Hi Hannah - hope your girls are over their colds.
Better go - house work calling only 29 more shifts!!!!!!!
xxBella
-
Hi ladies,
just a quick one from me, Yes we are up in Darwin and the weather is beautiful there was alot of fire works around last night for NT day??? it was beautiful but very loud when I was ready for bed DD loved it.
I had a scan on Tuesday I still need to go for weekly scans just to watch the fluid but I don't mind as I know they are being closely monitored. Feeling alot more kicks and movements which feels unreal:lol:
Bella I hope those 29 weeks go fast for you and don't worry you will be feeling those tiny kick soon enough I think I started feeling like I had little butterflies in the lower part of my tummy around 16 weeks, it is my 2nd pg apparently we feel it soon then a first time mummy. Hope work has been to stressful for you
Argon I had DG with my first pg and no you cant give it to yourself  its got something to do with you insulin not work properly after 28 weeks not sure how long with twins. I hope I don't get it this time don't like my chances though I did lost weight on with the special diet I had to go on
Kezza thinking about you:loveshower: Hope you are feeling Ok and relaxing
Well I better get back to relaxing
-
Hey Twin mummies!
I'm not doing too bad considering. I am very tired, as bubs have dropped and are laying on my bladder, I have to get up about 5 times in the night to go pee! I have Obst app next wed, I'm gonna demand they be evicted if they haven't come by then, I've had enough!!! At this rate I don't think that I'll have the energy to push the blighters out!
Azz- I am soooo jealous that you are up in Darwin, I could use some nice warm weather, Tassie is so darn cold at the moment! You have yourself a lovely time up there.;)
Bella- goodness me you did go mad with the shopping! Still at least you can pay it all off bit by bit. We did the same with our buggy. Everything else we got second hand, luckily we kept a lot of my sons bits so didn't have to buy two of everything. The anxiety of pregnancy doesn't really go away, it's always a worry that something is not right or something is gonna go wrong, I guess once you're past 26 weeks when a prem baby is classed as viable then you can relax a little. Bring on the maternity leave, there will be no stopping you!!
Argon- have you had your GD test yet? How did you get on?
Belly rubs to all

Hi ladies,
Just wanted to pop in and say Hi to all the expectant twin mummies and offer my sympathies to Kezza. I remember those feelings so well!
You have done sooooo well to get this far, just a little while longer (although those last few weeks are a shocker).
I had high blood pressure and ended up being induced at 38 weeks, although I tried everything to get them to come naturally - they just wanted to stay put!
Glad to hear you are going to be able to birth naturally - do u have to have an epidural in place?
Best of luck with everything
Shelley
-
Hi everyone,
I'm at work but thought i would just pop in quickly to say hi :D.
Kezza - how are you going- anything happening?????
Azz - hope your enjoying your trip.
Hi to everyone else.
AFM - went shopping again yesterday  and spent alot of money on all our cot linen oopps! Travelling well nothing really to report. Next scan Frio week (17th) waiting waiting!
Take care twin mummies!
xxBella
-
Hey ladies
I'm still here hanging on to these bubs!
I've seriously had enough though, I look like I'm ready to go off bang!! The babes have dropped, so walking with two heads between your legs is a bit tricky, sleeping isn't happening, I'm getting that jumping leg syndrome thing at night and can't seem to keep my legs still. I've been told that pineapple is supposed to bring on labour, so after dropping sprog off at Kinder I went straight to woolies and picked up a fresh pineapple, pineapple juice and a couple of tins!!! I'm sitting here now eating half a pineapple.:D
If I don't go before, I am going to have a nervous breakdown at my obs appoin on wed, so they will HAVE to induce me. I can't take anymore. I think bubs have been baking for long enough, it's time mummy got some relief, I can honestly say that I will probably get more sleep when they arrive even with night feeds etc. I'm 37 weeks this friday, so I am more than pleased to have baked them for this long. But now it's time for them to be evicted!!
Sorry for the rant!!! I hope you gals are all ok, take care of yourselves and will let you know how I get on.;)
-
Kezza - god you make me laugh :lol: You have done extremly well - if i can get to where you are i will be thrilled. Eat up and have hot hot curry for dinner and sex tonight ha ha:ROFL::ROFL: Take care and i am betting you will start labour before Wed!
xxxxxxxxxxBella
-
Kezza - good luck at your OB appt today! Let us know how you go. You're really at the pointy end now aren't you! Thinking of you lots.
Jenx
-
Hi Ladies,
Back from our holidays and its so cold down here.
Kezza I never knew pineapple can bring on labour so eat up  I heard raspberry tea can help relax your uterus and as bella said sex as well not sure if you would want you DH near you at this time but you would try anything when you want them out:ROFL: Goodluck with your OB appointment let us know how you go. If I make it as long as you have I would be very happy, you are doing so well:grouphug:
Bella there is so much sales out there at the moment its a good Idea to start putting things on layby. I have still got alot of DD things so I just have to buy a couple of things.
When I was up in Darwin I saw alot of twins up there, there must be something in the water but they had alot of twin prams for sale there were some that I hadn't seen before. If I can't find one down here then MIL will buy one up there.
Hi Jenc and argon how are you both travelling
AFM Had a great time in Darwin weather was fantasic DD was running through the sprinklers and getting hose downs nearly everday. My feet and hands start to swell up cause of the weather so I had to keep proping them up all the time, I also ended up in bloody hospital for a night  I had a really bad cramp on my leftside and my tummy was really bloated they though it might be the TTTS or early labour so I had to go to the delivery suit which freaked me out I said im not going to give birth its just a cramp but they kepted me in over night just in case they gave me some painkillers and it went away so not sure what was going on???? the boys are fine I am measuring 28wks and I am only 20wks not sure if my body is finding it hard to cope with the extra strain but everything seems to be fine. I have my scan tomorrow just to check the fluid levels.
-
Wow Azz sounds like you're gonna have some big boys on your hands! Glad you had a nice time.
My Obst went fantastically well, I am 2 cm dilated, they want me in first thing in the morning to break my waters and get things under way!!!!!:dance::dance::dance:
To say that I am relieved is an understatement. Just one more sleep and I will have my girls, I know I should get a good nights sleep tonight, but I am soooo excited and nervous, I'm not sure it will be possible!:excited:
-
Oh Kezza that's great news. I will be thinking of you and praying you have as painfree and safe and easy delivery as possible. Can't wait to hear all about it. Try to get some sleep - oh my god i'm so excited!!!!!!!
Hello to everyone else.
Hi Azz - when you say measuring at 28weeks do you mean tummy measurements i.e fundas height or thats what they measure on scan? GL with scan tom can't wait to hear it all goes well!
All good here - sorry got to be quick getting organised for my pregnant aqua aerobics class!!!
xxBella
-
OMG Kezza thats great news 1 more sleep I hope it all goes well, Im so excited for you.

*waves*
Hi girls,
I am a newbie here. I hope you don't mind me joining in on this thread, I notice its the most used so thought it the best place to find mummies to chat too.
My name is Shilo and I am 28 weeks pregnant with Boy/Girl twins due 2nd October, but my prediction is they will arrive around 1st or 2nd week of September.
I already have a 2 1/2 year old little girl. This twin pregnancy was natural and a huge shock for my fiance, me on the other hand, had a VERY very strong feeling I was having twins for about 3 weeks before we found out. Not that I would have ever EVER thought I was going to have twins in my life! haha.. But just crazy to find out it was true.
So far pregnancy has been tough, I have GD and have to inject 4 times a day. I also had GD in my pregnancy with DD, she was 10lb 4.5oz, natural birth. So this time around I'm secretly hoping Twin A is breech so we can have a c'sect.
We had a growth scan today that said the bubs were a little over average for 28 weeks.
Our lil girl is 2lb 15oz and our lil boy is 2lb 14oz. I *think* from what I have read, that 2lb 7 is around the average for 28 weeks. I am trying not to get too caught up on the numbers, but it does scare me to think they will grow bigger then needed too quickly. I may just breed big babies too... that's what I'm hoping!
I'm already 93kgs and only 5'3, so I'm really not looking forward to how giant I'm going to get!!
Are there any mummies from Brisbane here??
-
:welcome: Shilo congrats on being 28 wks pg thats great:clap:. Half of us are IVF and half are natural it always amazes me when mummies fall pg with twins naturally don't know why its hard enough falling pg with 1 let alone 2 little bundles.
I am like you I read all my ultrasound for sizes and fluid levels but try not to get caught up with all the numbers. I have weekly scans just to monitor the fluid levels as baby B is bigger then A, I have Identical twins so they are just watching for TTTS. I have a 21 mth old and often wonder how she will go the twins, I have brought her a baby doll that came with its own bottle she feeds it and trys to change it nappy which is cute, hopefully that will help.
I am afraid I will also get GD as I had it with my DD but OB said it doesn't get checked till 26wks I have a month and abit to go. I had to take tablets when I had it and it made me feel really sick so hope fully I don't get it this time round don't like my chances:lol:
One of the mummies have just had her little girls a couple of days ago.
I think Jenc is from Brisbane?
-
Hello ladies
Well I am home from the hospital, but bubs have to stay behind as they weighed 4lb14 and 4lb13, they are breathing and functioning well on their own they just need to build up their strength to feed properly as they are too sleepy to feed on their own. Hopefully it won't be too long before we get them home. I am missing them badly
My labour was wonderful!! Yes I did say wonderful!!!!!:p lol When I went in to have my waters broken I had already dilated another cm, at 10.30am they hooked me up to a drip and broke my waters, I had an epidural line put in, but because of all the tape I had on my back, I couldn't use my TENS machine. Having the epidural put in was the worst part, I nearly feinted!! I then started having contractions, they were just manage able with some heat packs applied to my back and belly, I was breathing through them quite well. After 3 and a half hours of contractions, not being particularly consistant, my partner decided to go for a walk and get some fresh air, he checked with me first I said no worries, I thought I was going to be there for a while. Any way half hour later there was a god almighty contraction and I felt bubs head move into the birth canal, Duncan walked in just intime to witness our first twins arrival. I screamed for drugs, but it was too late, I had to push, so push I did and Suzanna was born at 2.25pm. Then Jennifer made her way into the birth canal only she had her hand on her face, the doc had to get her hands in there and fish around to get her hand off her face, OUCH!!!! Anyway Jennifer made her way into the world at 2.39pm. To say that I am proud to have done all that without drugs is an understatement. I was feeling like a bit of a smarty pants after that. My recovery has been fantastic, I was up and about the next day organising my room and co-ordinating feeds, nappy changes etc. My stitches have healed really well and am glad that my pelvic floor is still intact. I did do lots of exercises though so all you ladies brewing twins keep them up they pay off in the end! Just feeling a little tired and numb at the moment, but a good nights sleep in my own bed should help me get strong for my girls. I will go see them every day and express my valuable breast milk for them and hope that they will be home very soon.
-
:dance:Thanks Kezza I have been popping in to see you had posted so egar to hear your story. What an experience I can't believe your DH made it in time he would of kicked himself if he missed it. Thats a shame you could use your tens machine but I guess you didn't really need it in the end.
Hearing your story gave me goose bumps oooh.
Congrats on those little princesses I hope you can take them home soon but try and get some sleep while you can if you can, I know it must be hard not having them with you.
Did you stay in hospital for 6 to 7 days?????
Take of yourself
-
Kezza!!! Congratulations! Thanks so much for sharing. And yes you did say wonderful!!! How glorious. I hope you're getting the hang of things and enjoying your little darlings.
Hi Shilo - welcome! I have twin boys on board - and C-section booked for 01 October, which will be 37w2d. I hope I keep them in that long!!!
Had an ob appt today - I'm measuring 32 weeks but each bub is within the acceptable / normal size for their date. Slightly small, but apparently perfectly within the normal range. But I have a proper growth/well-being scan next week so that will be more precise than the little scanner in the ob's rooms.
Hope all you other ladies are well, and that you're all taking care.
Jenx
-
Hello lovely ladies,
Sorry i have been MIA a bit lately.
Kezza it was so nice to read your story hope you and the girls are travelling along well would love to hear another update ....when you get a chance ha ha!
Hi azza - sounds like your scans are going along well.
Hi Jen and everyone else.
AFM - had ob appt and scan last Fri (18weeks) Unfortunately on of my boys is quite small - growth delay - they don't think it's TTTTS and fluid levels are good. It may turn out to be not an issue or it could turn into a really big one with no real solution. The smaller babies umbilical cord has connected right on the edge of the placenta and may not be getting good enough nutrients from it whereas the bigger one has joined on right smack bang in the middle. Anyway we won't know anything more til a scan Fri week (2 weeks post the other) there is nothing i can do apparently so just trying to rest eat up and not stress - easier said than done hey!
Will keep you all posted - take care everyone
xxxxxBella
