Hi Twin mummies,
 Jenc how annoying I wish I could see your tummy I can't imagine my tummy at 30wks lets hope I make it that far to see it. You have some really good tips I remember you telling me a whil back about you have a baby doll when you sisters came. I have done the samething for my DD and she loves it the only thing is she always wants itto be naked :lol: She loves putting the clothes abc on but the strips hr down again and if we try to put the clothes back on she loses it little poo bum. I am also a routine girl it worked with my DD and she has always been a good sleeper, unfortnately her routine has been put out of wak lately but she has been really good. My DH said everytime the park up at the hosi she always says mama how cute. I will hopefully trying toput the twins into a routine as well but we will see how we go.
Hows your bed resting going are you aloud up and about yet.
Hi Bella hope you are travelling along nicely putting your feet up when you can. Ive been on ebay today just trying to get a couple of things I won a swaddle me wrap for $15 and its brand new it retails at around $35 just need to found 1 more.
AFM Im not sure if I told any of you but we are trying to find anoher house to move to before september (rental) we live in a town house at the moment and its a pain to get up and down the stairs. I have been looking for a house and telling my DH to go check them out my poor DH is going to be busy. Mum is going to help pack up the house and hopefully my BIL can give him a hand to move the heavy stuff. It has helped past the time in here. I have my scan at 11 on Monday I really really cant wait
Take of yourselves

Hi Ladies,
Quick update from me.... Had scan today = all great. Growing nicely twin 2 still behind his brother but growing nicely, fluid levels good. Twin 1 was 540g in the 80%tile and twin 2 is 430g in the 25%tile (they only get concerned when in 10%tile), both are head down - hence all the pelvic pressure i have been having. He was a little concerned about my cervix so had to do an internal scan as well but said it is long and closed but babies heads are very near it. Fundal height was 30weeks!!!!
All in all i'm very happy = it was the first scan that no one said anything to concern me so very happy. Scan and check up in a fortnight.
Ohh and i was feeling movement consistantly for about 15min before i could even feel it from the outside so i think it won't be to long til it's regular and DH can feel as well.
Gotta go in a rush to go out.... sorry.
Glad to hear your both traveling along ok. Rest up and i'll catch up later.

Hi Twin Mums. Hope you are all traveling along nicely.
For me routine was everything. We didn't start one for the first little while but then I got the twins into a routine and it really works well for us. They eat at the same time and sleep at the same time and I have my sanity because I know when we are going to do everything. Routine doesn't work for everyone though, but my kids love it and I think they are very happy and content babies because there is no surprises for them, they know what to expect.
Bella you twins difference in weight sounds just like mine. Our twin 1 (Ryder) was always smaller than twin 2 (Mackenzie) we were having quite a number of growth scans to make sure he was still growing because it was so obvious how much smaller he was, but he continued to grow at a steady rate (although slower than Mackenzie) so we were able to carry to 38 weeks. when they were born he had caught up to her and there wasn't much difference in the weight at all (6lb4 and 6lb7) Even now at 14 months though he is still the smaller twin. Mackenzie now has probably a good 1kg on Ryder and she is slightly taller then him too so nothing has changed :D
-
Bella thats great your scan went well 100grms between the 2 is good. Yah for the movements hope your DH can feel them soon.
Hi ktgirl I hope I can get mine into a routine like your 2 I think it would make my life that little bit easier.
-
No new news just popping in. Had a scan in Brisbane at 16 weeks and now they know my triplets are all in individual sacks I can have them at my local hospital provided I make it to term. Ive got all little girls on board so my poor DS hasnt got a hope. Im starting to get Braxton Hicks which worries me a little cz Im hoping they can hang on til 34 weeks.
Tomorrow were going to a multiple births family fun day so i can meet other multiple mummys and DS can have a play. Hope everyones well :)
-
hello ladies!
hope you're all having a lovely weekend. Azz, how are you holding up hon?
i'm actually starting to get used to all this bed rest. I try not to think about what's happening to my poor muscle tone (!) but it just feels so wrong when I do move about that I am pretty content lying here knowing I'm doing the right thing.
Had to go to dr earlier and just the walk from the car to the clinic and sitting in the waiting room caused so much pelvic pressure that I actually started to get a bit worried. So really just reinforces that bed is where I need to be.
The woman who is going to be in my job for the year I have off flew up from Syd to spend Thurs and Fri with me for a handover, and although I tried to stay lying, I did end up sitting a fair bit (it's a bit hard to chat, look at files, and appear professional from a lying down position!!) and I paid the price on Thurs and Fri nights. Lots and lots of tightenings - prob 6-8 an hour for quite a long time. Really uncomfortable too, so again, another lesson!!
ktgirl, thanks for popping in. It's so nice to see people who carried their twins to 38 weeks. Everyone says "oh, they'll come early", and I know they might, but I also know equally that they might not! 37 is full term apparently for twins, but my ob keeps telling me that in Australia twins on average come at 35 wks. Either way, not long to go I suppose! But I tell you what, the pregnancy has absolutely flown by until now. Now each day feels like a week. Partly because I'm on bedrest I suppose, partly because I'm just getting so uncomfortable with this belly, and partly because I want to meet them so badly!!!!
take care lovelies

My best friend had twins and they didnt arrive til 38 weeks :)
-
ooh yay! I like those stories. thx!!
-
Yep you always hear the stories about twins coming early but it is not always the case. I was always a little worried about it but never happened for me.
Also my twins were born at 38 weeks by c/s because of the way they were laying but there was no signs of labour before that so who knows how long they could have stayed in there. They were definitely holding on to the end. And because of that my babies were able to come straight up to the room with me and had no time in special care at all. So it is not always bad stories out there girls. Just hold on as long as you can!!! (although I looked like an elephant by 38 weeks  I was so massive )
I hope you are all feeling well. Belly rubs to everyone!!
-
Azzrenae-Hehehe you cope with what you get given. I am sure you will be fine. Someone else on here actually had her twins as no.s 4 and 5.
Rhyb-Wow triplets, I was so happy to read that they all have seperate sacs. That must have been a huge weight off your shoulders.
I have a book here, cant remember what it is called, and it is in the room with my sleeping twins. It was invaluable to read prior to having them. Has a big emphasis on BF and what to expect if bubs come early, setting routines and not setting them, coping when you have other children etc etc. It is not just based on twins, also helps for BF patterns for higher order multiples. When the twins wake, I will try and find it and let you guys know. I found it great to read and re-read when they were born, and it really helped me when they were born early, plus I had more knowledge to ask more questions.
Take care ladies, and rest those legs!
-
Hi azza
just noticed u are from adelaide, its great to find other mummies and mummies to be on the threads from SA :)
Congrats on the pregnancy, hope everything is travelling along well and u are getting rest, altho i know from experience when u have a little one already, rest is hard to come by.
Im pretty sure i read somewhere that u are expecting boys? We have history of twins on both sides of family but so we have only been blessed with 2 girls, 5 and 2.
Where are u birthing?
Good Luck with everything

Azza - how did your scan go? I hope your going home today. xx
AFM - i ended up in hospital yesterday with viral gastro - they initially thought it may be listeria infection but thankfully not. The only problem was my bp was high and i have protein and blood in my urine so plan is to recheck urine and bp again tom so  all will be ok. I'm feeling soooooo much better today the boys are still very quiet so just resting on the couch today.
Hi to everyone else - Jen i wrote to you in the other thread - hope your travelling ok.
xxBella

Hi ladies,
Well scan went well my cervix length is still 1.6 so it hasn't gotten worst. I still need to have weekly scan due to my little man being little. They are both very active. AND im still in hosi arrrrrrh I haven't spoken to my OB yet but she is popping in tomorrow they said at the scan that it is a very important time in my pregnancy they have to watch me and get me past the 28 week mark (so does that mean I have to stay here till 28 weeks ?????) I will be asking OB that tomorrow.
Bella what blood in your urine Im glad you finshed work early get that bp down please and stay away from the hospital. I hope everything is ok please let us know how everything goes tomorrow. Im glad to hear you are relaxing on the couch.
:hello: Midwiferystudentmummy if the twins come before 34 weeks then Womans and Childrens if after 34 weeks I will be having them at Calvary hospital where are you doing your midwifery?
Helen please let me know what the book is called I need something to read, I will send DH out to hunt for it. I agree with you we do cope with what we have I acually can't wait for it to happen.
Jenc I know what you mean with getting use to bedrest I have my little routine but am still finding it hard to sleep through the night I got up at 5.00am and thought that reading my book would put me to sleep an hour later I started to drift off to sleep and was woken by my breakfast coming in. My muscles are starting to feel like they are bruised what about yours? Im sso jealous that you are past you 30 weeks I wish I was there with you. One day:lol: I hope those babies of yours are nice and snug in there and not wanting to come out til 38 weeks.
Rhyb thats great your little bubs are in different sacs and they are beautiful girls :cheer::cheer::cheer: thats fantastic we need more girls as most of us are having boys we need abit of balance. I hope they will can make it to full term, what is full term for triplets?
Take care of yourselves
-
Full term is considered 34 weeks but honestly Im afraid I wont make it that far. Im scared Ill go at 28 weeks so Ive been doing everything now. I only need 1 more cot and 1 more carseat and Im ready for them :) Oh and lots of clothes lol but that can wait.
-
congrats on having 3 girls
-
ooh! 3 little girls!! how adorable. one of my best friends had a little girl on Friday and I was SO excited. I have been dying to buy tutus and fairy wings :)
Well, I'm back in hospy again. I was having yucky BH last night - up to 12 an hour and just wasn't sure what was normal, now that I know I have an irritable uterus. So this morning I called my ob clinic and they told me to come up to the preg assessment unit - again - to check out what was going on.
Well, it turns out I have been in labour!! Very early stages - no actual dilation yet. But effacement and well, lots of contractions. So, have been given the steroid shots for the boys' lungs, and am on meds to stop the contracs, which I am pleased to say are working a treat. I was getting up to 16 an hour at one point today, and am now down to 4. So it's brilliant news.
I have no idea what this means now for the rest of my preg - will have a better chat to the ob tomorrow :)
thinking of you all
Jenx
-
oooooh my gosh Jenc look at how fast things can change hey even though you were on bedrest they must really want to come hey. Well I guess hospital is a good place for you to be at the moment hope your feeling better and those little boys stay put for a little while longer. Take care and keep us posted.
-
Jen i'm glad to he\ar things may be settling down.. I hope they stay put for a little longer but still if they do come i'm sure they will be just fine - your in the best place - keep us posted. xxxx
Azza - so still in hospital hey  Any plans to get home or do you think they will make you stay? At least as well your also in the rigth place and it sounds like you are being a very good patient!
AFM - went for a check up today bp was all good urine culture was clar still trace protein on dipstick but they wern't to concerned. I'm feeling so much better toady yay! Will continue to take it easy. Feeling lots of movement - well actually none so far today but thats kinda normal - i normally feel them most in the afternoon and evening DH has felt thwm now too!!!!
Take care lovely ladies.
xxBella
-
Hey ladies
Bella im glad to hear its clearing up is there anything they can do for the protein? yay for the BP going down and yay for your DH feeling those little movements:clap:
Jenc how you going hope bubbies are playing nicely.
AFM I will proberly be here till 28 weeks my OB came in yesterday and said she doesn't want me to go home for 2 reasons 1 is obviously my cervix and she doesn't want me to go in to labour at home. 2 is they saw that the big twins cord is very close to little twins head which is near my cervix and if my waters were to break at home the cord could get stuck between my cervix and little twins head. I said that is fear enough so I think it is a good Idea I stay.
I just need more thigs to do now so I am getting my DH to buy some photo albums and get all of our loose photos together which would take me a couple of days. I also got a valco rocker off ebay yesterday for $40 it retails between $90-100 it looks near new and the person lived up the road so she dropped it off straight away I have also found a twin book on ebay so hopefully I will win and thats another thing I can read if you ladies have any ideas let me know the more the better. Sorry about the novel.
Take care you twin mummies
-
Azza - sounds like a very good idea to me . You must be missing DD and DH so much - is your mum still here helping you out? I can't imagine having another child to look after whilst carrying twins!
Jen - hope labour is still holding off!
AFM - feeling good today. I went over to visit a girlfriend and picked up some more second hand clothes. Got some washing done and even walked the dog!!! I must be nesting and subconsciously thinking i may end up on bed rest cause i have this urge to get things done - went and bought some new PJ'S, car is getting serviced tom and i have organised my oven to be fixed!!!!! As for things for you to do ... photo album great idea - do you have an up to date telephone/address book? I will think about it and hopefully come up with some ideas for you!
Take lovely ladies and keep us posted.
xxBella
-
Hi Bella you know what I would get as much done now while you can do it. Alot of people told me to hold off as long as I could and now I can't do half the stuff I wanted to do. I miss being home with them just having tea and sleeping in the same bed as DH little things like that but I know its not for ever. Phone book is a good Idea thanks. I want some new PJ's to I was going to send my DH out to found me some But no sure if he would take the time to look for some nice ones might have to send my mum out to look. Glad to hear you feeling better:dance:
-
Hi Azzrenae, I've been lurking, reading your thread daily with interest. How bored you must be cooped up in hossy! Are you on facebook? I was going to suggest facebook UNO - the old childhood card game, it's rather addictive and helps pass time!
Glad to hear all is going well with everyone on this thread and praying you all hold out for much longer yet!
-
hi lovelies!
well, I am in here for the long haul now too. Saw ob yesterday and he said that I just need to wrap my head around the fact that I need strict bedrest, in hospital, until the boys are born.
So, it is what it is, I suppose.
Azz, I too am wracking my mind for things to keep my occupied.
I am going to write up my own baby log book - you know, to write down nappies, feeds, sides, sleeps, moods, meds, etc. I know you can buy them, but it will give me something to do.
I'm also reading all my fave online newspapers, mags and blogs.
And I'm also writing a little weekly letter to these boys. DH takes a snap of my belly each week, and I write a sweet little note to go with it. It's so lovely actually.
I'm also writing list after list after list of stuff to do and having fun delegating tasks to family and friends.
I'm a bit sad that I won't be able to have my baby shower - I spent hours making beautiful invitations and decorations and organised the menu and even bought the champers! So, instead, I'll have a 'welcome to the world little ones' afternoon once we're all home and settled. That will be just as lovely.
It's DH's birthday on Sat, so I feel terrible that I can't do anything nice for him. I'll get someone to bring up some cake and a candle and we'll have a little room party.
Azz, have you been to visit the special care nursery? The midwives here are organising a time for DH and I to go and have a proper tour - they'll explain to us what all the equipment is and be able to show us some little ones of various gestational ages so we have more of an idea what to expect.
Bella, sounds like furious nesting to me!! Pls take is eeeaaassssyyyy. You don't want to overdo it. But I do agree with Azz too - there are just a few little things still to do, and I just presumed I had another 6 or so weeks to do them, but now I'll have to ask others to do it instead, which makes me feel bad. But do be careful - it really is a bit scary not knowing exactly what's happening, or when it's all going to start.
Hi Ausgirl - thanks for your thoughts!
Take care all
Jenx
-
Hi ladies,
I just did a really big post on pregnancy ater TTC and lost it all grrrrrrr
Jenc I wish we were in the same hospital we could visit each other well we would have to get the nurses to push us to each others rooms in a wheel chair:lol: I hope those bubs of yours stay put for now the nurses always say to me the best incubator is your tummy.
Those are great Ideas I was thinking of starting up a baby journal as I have so many scan pictures I need to put somewhere I to have been taken photos of my tummy I sent a couple to my sister and she said my tummy looks like its dropping hmmmm
My hospital does not have a NICU as it only takes mums from up to 34 and past weeks if I do have the boys early then I have to go to Womens and Childrens which have it, its only down the road so not to worried I have to go there for another scan next week I migth ask my OB if I can have a look. I think that is a good idea.
Have you got most of your baby stuff yet?
I wish I took up quilt making or something I can make the boys while im in here.
Ausgirls thanks for thinking of us yes I am on facebook but am not that in to it at the moment I am pretty bad with it I only talk to my family in NZ and over here. I guess thats another thing I can do.
Bella hows you shopping going where do you go to get second hand clothes? hae you got most of your stuff?
AFM I think I have got everything I need for now for the boys I need pram but am not to concerned about that I reakon I could do with some more cot sheets. I wish I could get a massage in here my butt is so numb:lol::lol:
Hope everyone is behaving themselves I better go before I loss this post as well
-
Good morning lovely ladies,
I hope everyone had an uneventful night ;)
Today i'm spending the day with my mum... we are off to the movies and then having a nice dinner which she will cook for me at her place! I'm sure we will also fit in a little shopping but shhhh don't tell DH!!!
Well i had my car serviced yesterday and i had a brain wave and decided to wal back to pick it up with the dog.... well 4 km was a bit far me think  My back was so sore and the bottom of my belly really tight and heavy opps! I felt good after but i think i pushed it a little. Anyway it ended up costing me $1100  cause i needed 4 new tyers as well grrrrrr..
Another question in terms of babies movements.... I feel them most consistently in the afternoon evening they were both head down so i was feeling kicks in the middle to top of my tummy, but since my gastro they are being very quiet... i still feel them but just not as much or as hard. Does it change day to day or once your feeling them it kinda never stops? DH thinks i am thinking to much and just need to relax a bit which he is probably right i am so stressed things are going to happen all the time - if only you could see me scan days - i am so nervous going in then everything is fine and i feel like an idiot!. Also i think they or one may have flipped over cause i have now been getting some lower kicks.
Azza -In terms of shopping and second hand things - In melbourne there are Childrens markets they happen every month all over but last month it was a seconds boy specific one so i picked up some stuff there, also EBAY has great stuff - then once you get it home it hasn't cost you much so i just throw out what i don't like, and friends who have had babies have been giving me heaps. Don't get me wrong i have bought heaps of new stuff - i have moderate amount of 0000, heaps of 000, and my grandma just sent me x2 premmie grow suits - very sweet only she could get away with it! (hopefully we won't need those!).
Another thing - sorry if TMI... can we take a light laxitive like metamucil - for constipation?
Well i think all my questions should keep you both busy for a while he he he...
Take care and i will check in on you all later.
xxBella
-
Hi Bella you crack me up:rofl:
Right No more 4km walks naughty naughty as my DD would say. If you want to go for a walk sit down half way for abit then keep going but don't push yourself or I will get your hosi to make up your bed read for that bedrest:protest:
As for the movements when I was at home I notice they moved and kicked mostly in the evening as well proberly cause was walking around cleaning the house its like rocking them to sleep. One 1 of the twins have now flipped up and I don't feel them as much anymore but they move around alot, the movements and kick do change I guess once they start running out of room you would proberly start feeling alot more rolling and heads, legs and bums oooh how cute I am starting to feel the big twins head and their hickups. Each day is different for me so try not to worry about it.
Hope you have fun with your mum let know me what you watched at the movies.
Yes you can take a laxitive the nurses have been offering a slow release one to me but I haven't had to take it yet but may need to soon not sure what the its called but if you go to the chemist they will tell you which one is safest with pregnancy.
AFM I had my glucos test yesterday I am earger to know the result I had it with my DD it runs in our family. They are also moving me to another room because my room has a baby bath in it, it will be my third room since I have been here. I had an idea yesterday my mum nd I use to knit scarfs when I was younger, so I thought if mum and I knit a heap of little squares then sow them together to make a cot blanket that should keep me pretty busy. I also won a twins book on ebay and the person is throwing in a free twin breast feeding book as well so I can't wait to read it.
Jenc hope those contractions are staying away take care ladies.
-
ooohhhh one more thing!!!! How much weight have you ladies put on I'm tall and was 75kg at the end of my ivf cycle. I weighed in today WOW 87.5kg!!! Do you remember how much you were at about my stage?
Better go....
xxBella
-
Hi ladies.
Azzrenae & Jenc - Hope you are not going too stir crazy in the hospital, you poor things having to stay but it will be the best place for you.
Maybe if you have a laptop in hospital with you perhaps get someone to bring up a heap of DVD's for you to watch. I am thinking all the old movies you used to love to watch bit of a blast from the past! Or hire out a heap of books from the library and read for a while. Once the twins arrive you won't have much time for that kind of thing until it all settles down.
Love the knitting idea and journals idea. One job that kept me really busy was that I pull heaps of recipes out of magazines and they were all just piled up so I cut them out and put them all into a book so they were all in the one spot. Do you have anything like that at home?
Bella - At the end of my pregnancy with my twins I had put on about 18kg which my ob told me was quite normal. I had pretty big babies for twins (both over 6lb) so when I got home from hossy after a week I weighed myself out of interest and I had lost 10kg in that week!!! Best diet I ever went on LOL
-
-
Ktgirl thats a great Idea with the recipes I have heap of recipe mags here thanks for that Idea. My BL came in last night with a heap of movies for me on the laptop some tv series, old movies and alot of stuff I have never heard of so that should keep me busy for abit.
Ausgirl yes 27 weeks I was 25 weeks when I frist came in to hossi and I really didn't think I would make it this far so now I am aiming for 32 weeks lets see how I go.
Bella I haven't weighed myself for a while but when I was 20 weeks I had put on 6kg I am to scared to jump on the scales.
AFM really missing my DH and DD, I didn't get to see DD yesterday she had a play date with some friends of ours and my DH said he couldn't bring her in today because he has to start work at 1pm and needed to a house inspection at 11. I had just finished my shower and they came walking in I was happy to see her it was only for a little while but I didn't care. DD walked in to my room and grabbed my hand and was walking me out of the room I think she wanted me to go home it was so cute but when I walked back into the room she started to cry she knows how to tug at my heart strings.
-
Ktgirl - that's a great idea about the recipes my mum gave me a whole heap of cut out ones just today so maybe i will do that to! 18kg for the whole pregnancy wow thats great - i think i will be over that as i'm 12.5kg already and only 23 weeks :redface:.
Azza i can't beleive your 27 weeks  well done every week now is a blessing but i will  hard every night to help get you to 32 weeks - or longer!
Jen hope your travelling ok - your making me nervous that we haven't heard from you! xx
AFM - went to the movies yesterday and saw Beautiful Kate the aussie film - it was weird, interesting, good, disturbing ultimately worth watching but maybe on DVD!!! Feeling good today just got a bargain body pillow on special at Lincraft for $20 - hopefully this will help me sleep - i'm soooo uncomfortable by night time and my hips really hurt in bed.
About to have some lunch - speaking of weight gain!!!!!
Take care ladies.
xxBella
-
Jenc I to am wondering how you are travelling you are freaking me out lady.
Bella never heard of that movie? Great bargin for the body pillow whaoooo $20 I can remember how said it but one of the ladies in a previous post said they are good for breast feeding as well. I have asked for a laxitive today its a natural fibre supplement called Fybogel the nurses said its not as harsh as the other stuff.
AFM just heard the boys heartbeats it was hard to find the little ones heartbeat it gave me a bit of a scare but he was was tucked up somewhere and we found him in the end little poo bum scaring his mummy like that.
-
hi lovelies
I am still here! and more importantly, boys are still in.
i was exhausted yesterday after a rather scary friday afternoon/evening. I had lots of contractions that just didn't seem to stop - even after a shot of pethidine! So I ended up down in the labour ward and I swear they were going to do my c-section right then and there. There were people everywhere, machines, nurses checking when I last ate, etc. Told me to call DH to get up here.
But they gave me another injection of some other sort of tocolytic medication (I have no idea what) and it worked, thank goodness.
The upside is that I seem to have a cervix of steel! It's shortening, and the baby's head is moving down, but it's staying firmly closed. The downside is that my uterus is more irritating than irritable - well at least to me.
I almost wish it would just be one or the other. Either stop all together and let me go home, or let's see some action! This limbo is driving me insane.
(i don't really want to see action - I know they need to stay in longer, and I desperately want them to), but it is still annoying :)
kt - i like your recipe idea. i might see if I can get DH to bring my books up. I'm always having to flick through a handful of books to find the recipe I'm thinking of.
Azz + Bella - big love. Hope you're doing ok.
Jenxx
-
Jenc glad to hear your boys are still baking but what a ordeal you have to go through just to keep them in, thank god for your cervix of steal:lol::lol: you are nearly 32 weeks which isn't a bad time to have them if they do decided to come early. It sounds like they really want to come. Hang in there I am thinking of you.
-
Hi ladies,
I had another scan today and my cervix is now 8mm so alot shorter and I have been sitting here not sure how that happened. I had a growth scan as well but they said nothing much has changed they are growing which is the main thing but 1 is still bigger then the other. The doctor that did my ultrasound also said I may have 2 to 3 weeks left til the babies come hmmmm I guess thats better then them coming now. I might have GD my bloods came back high so I have an 2 hour test tomorrow but I guess if I have only 2 to 3 weeks left then they proberly wont be that strict with me ?????? :wall:
I am stressing abit today I dont think my DH is coping at home without me I think he is putting on a brave face when he comes in, he has been snapping at me abit, telling me to keep looking for a house and to ring all the realestate up even though I have already we need to be out of or house by the 13 september I might have to ask for an extention for a couple of weeks just to give us some time. I know it must be hard for him working and looking after DD but its no bloody picnic in here either.:wall:
Anyway on a good note I got to go out for a burger and chips today after scan it was really nice im trying to get all the goodies in now before I go on a special diet.
Hope you ladies are doing great and resting up.
-
oh, Azz, I'm so sorry to hear about your cervix. Hang in there hon, we're thinking of you. You're nearly 28 weeks aren't you?? If you can hang on just a few more days things will be a much brighter scenario. Sending you tons and tons of love and sticky vibes.
I had an ultrasound today, and there were two concerning results. The level of amniotic fluid for twin one is too low, and twin 2's growth has tapered off, and they are now discordant. Hmmm. grrrr. arrrgh! am so sick of this!!!! :wall:
So I am to have daily CTG monitoring, and bi-weekly scans and they'll play it a bit by ear. Worst case scenario is that they will just need to take them out sooner rather than later, so I am prepared for that. I hope it doesn't come to that, so fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes all crossed.
Bella, I'm sorry I haven't answered your questions!! Here I go. It's totally normal for the bubs to flip around all over the place so you will feel kicks in different places. If you are worried about lack of movement, then find a quiet relaxing spot, do some deep breathing, put your hands on your tummy and just count the movements you feel in an hour. If you don't feel any (or very few) then call your dr. Better to be safe than sorry :)
In terms of weight, please don't count kgs!!! It's not what's important. What matters is that your babies are thriving - they are growing, their hearts are beating strongly, etc. Weight is not a good indicator of a healthy pregnancy. My ob doesn't even weigh me. Never has!
I've also been suffering from constipation - especially here in hospy (sorry if TMI). I have truly found the best thing to be at least one piece of fresh fruit per day, a glass of pear juice, and a prune or two with breakfast. It has totally fixed my problem, and tastes a hell of a lot better than metamucil!! But if you don't like those things, then, yeah, go to the chemist and ask. They'll point you in the right direction.

Good morning lovely twin mummies to be!
Azza - Argg.... that damn cervix . I know it's little comfort but your in the right place and if the babies come in 2-3 weeks they will be ok will just need fattening up and monitoring for longer. As long as they are still growing thats the main thing - what sizes are they do you know? As for your DH it must be getting very hard for all of you - patience must be wearing thin - you are doing an amazing job and your job at the moment is to bake your babies. I admire your strength and your DH for coping so well considering you have DD to worry about as well. Give him time and maybe just the 2 of you could go down for a hot chocolate and have a good talk about how your both feeling? Take care and try not to worry things will resolve and stress is the last thing you need!
Jen - My gosh you two are having such a hard time - i think those babies really want out! You have done so well and are over 30weeks which is such a great acheivement. What sizes are your bubs? As for getting around to answering my questions... so don't concern yourself you have enough to do . I'm not worrying to much about the weight i just want healthy happy bubs stuff what i got through to get them!!!!
AFM - seems rather silly to give you an update of myself with what you are both going through  but they are moving heaps - i think they just had some down time after my gastro. I have been getting quite puffy if i'm up and about for to long so i now do little things with rest/feet up breaks inbetween! We have scan and appt on Friday so really looking forward to that.
Take care both of you and remember - you are both amazing and i'm :pray::pray: for you!
xxBella

Hi Ladies,
Jenc I know how you feel its a never ending story but we are both in a good place imagine if we were at home and all this was going on not sure about you but I would like to be closely monitored, AND I know it is not for ever even though it feels like an eternity.
Bella I love hearing how you are going please keep updating us. As for the sizes Im not sure they normally give me a summary to give to my OB but they didn't this time because they were going to ring her straight after. oooh I can hear a baby crying poor little thing. Thanks for the kind words I think I might have to sit my DH down and ask him how he is coping really. Good luck with your scan on Friday let us know how you go is it a growth scan?
AFM I couldn't do GD test today as they forgot to tell me to fast so I can pig out today:lol::lol: hmmmm on hossy food.
Take care lovely ladies

Hey Azz, I meant to say before about your house hunting - are you looking for a rental? If so, I am pretty sure there are people out there who 'house hunt' as a job. They do all the inspections, create a shortlist for you, and then you pick from there. I am pretty sure a lot of them work out their pay with the real estate, so I don't think it costs the client much - maybe a week's rent or something?? That might help ease the pressure???
I imagine your DH probably is feeling stressed, and I agree with Bell - sit down and have a nice long calm chat. It can only help. I know your family is interstate, but what about his? or do you have a good friend who could help out with stuff around the house??
I'm thinking of you :)

hi girls
quick update from me. I just saw my ob, and he isn't going to let me out of here. the issues with the twins (the low fluid with one, and the reduced growth with the other) are concerning, so they need to keep a close watch on their well-being, which can't be done if I'm not here.
so baby shower in hospital it's going to be for me!!! how funny :)
he also said that at this stage, the benefits of them incubating inside me still outweigh the risks of prematurity, but from next week, things start to even out, and at 34 weeks they're likely to develop better out than in.... so.... that means that in 2 weeks I'm probably going to have two tiny little ones.
I am in shock, scared, excited, relieved, all at once. does that make sense????
thinking of you
