That is great news.
That is great news - I hope they continue to grow strong and healthy.
Thanks Ella :)
and thanks everyone else!! we're still having weekly scans at the moment, got the next one on thurs in melb and book in to the hosp and see the paediatric neurologist specialist. Big day but at least we can come back home that arvo. I'm liking being at home more!! I got a stack of gorgeous decor to put up in the girls room with butterflies and all things girly (reject shop! chipboard and gorgeous!). So hoping to get that done soon, got a good friend from sydney here for a few days so we're going to get started on it tomorrow. takes my mind off the problems!
Nelly, good news that nothing has deteriorated any further. Wow on seeing your daughter kick! That's fabulous!
Thinking of you.
Wow that's awesome news!! Can't wait to hear the next installment :D
good morning everyone, we got back from melbourne last nite after having scan and seeing paediatric neurologist. The scan showed pretty much same as last time (waste of time???) they r growing and looking good still 2wks diff between them but i dont expect a change in that! The paediatric neurologist just informed us of what we need to do once they r born and gave us a name of a local paed that we will see as she will need to see him asap after birth as the earlier we work on whatever issues she has the more she will get out of it. The paed was pretty good very reassuring and friendly. The girls have now changed position from both being head down (OUCH) to laying across my belly- so much more comfy for me but still have a very sore pelvis!
Wow! How exciting for you, twin girls!!! Im glad all is looking good:)
have only just found this thread mummynelly but wanted to say that i'm so happy to hear that everything is looking good.
dr edwards is awesome - he did my NT scan with DS (his clinic was where my GP gave me a referral to, i didn't realise exactly who he was at the time ) & he would have to be one of the nicest dr's i've come across. so reassuring but with a sense of humour as well.
hope everything continues to go well :)
thanks Sloane, i agree he is the nicest doctor!! everytime we see him he asks if we still have his number lol he's been such a great support through all this.
Well today i'm aiming to get more done in the babies room as my best friend from sydney was down last weekend and we got it sorted to some extent then went shopping and bought more lol plus my mums group had a baby shower for me the other day so need to rearrange a bit to fit everything in (its a very small room!). I get my pelvic belt this week i can't wait i'm really hoping it allows me to do more than i'm able to at the moment!! i could hardly walk friday morning my pelvis was killing me and i could barely move (it was really cold too and i've noticed the cold weather doesnt help). Hope ur all doing well :) also i had belly pics taken yesterday so might play around a bit with them later too!
Hi everyone, the last few posts got lost when BB was down :(
we had an ultrasound and checkup yesterday in melbourne, girls r doing great! Weights are 2.4kilos and 1.9kilos. I'm having a c section which we discussed with both our specialist and doctor we saw a fortnite ago but we saw a different doctor yesterday. Can't remember her name but she was not very nice!!! She was not supportive at all with our decision even when we tried talking to her about reasons why (less risk for lil bub) but all she said was she doesnt understand why i don't try naturally and made me feel like absolute crap and hopeless. I just couldnt believe her attitude. Anyway after her opinions she reluctantly booked the c section for oct 29th which means i will be 38wks and 3 days so the likeliness of me still being pregnant then is low! Not happy at all... We are planning to speak to specialist on monday when he's back from leave and see what he thinks. Last doc we spoke to said it would be done around 36weeks. So anyway bring on monday so we can get it sorted!
I'm going back to the exhaustion stage and getting so so sore!!!! Moving in bed and trying to get up is just agony, nothing eases it now.
 After everything you have been through the last thing you need is unsupportive people around you. Hopefully you can sort it out with the specialist so that you can do what is right for you and the girls.
Thanks for the update, so wonderful to hear you are going well despite being in pain and dealing with nasty doctors!! Best wishes :)
Well done on getting this far. Your babies are little troopers! And poo to that mean doc. Good luck with your specialist. Not long at all til you meet your girls!! :) xx
thanks everyone! :) i wish tomorrow would hurry up so i could talk to the specialist! haven't been sleeping well just thinking about it.
i hope tomorrow brings a better outcome for you  i know it's tough, but take it easy & try & rest :)
we spoke to andrew and the date has been moved up to oct 21st. 19days to go!!!
oh yeyyy GL hun, u must be sooo excited!! im a lil envious of u lol the end stages are so much of a waiting game but congrats..:)
How exciting to have the date! I'm very shocked at the doctor pushing you for a vaginal birth. Although vaginal births are an option for lots of sets of twins, identical twins have a whole heap of extra risk factors and you have made your decision based on sound medical advice. I hope you don't have to deal with the unsupported doctor again.
Yay!!! How exciting!! :)
just thought i would pop in to say....THEY ARE HERE!!!!!! My beautiful baby girls were born by caesarean on sunday 17th october 2010 in wodonga and were (Mia) born at 10:21am 5pound 5- 2418grams, head circ 30.3cm and 46cm long. twin 2 (Abbey) was born a minute later weighing 6pound 3- 2852grams, head circ 33.2cm and 46cm long. Both girls did amazingly well! They were in special care nursery til wed mainly due to Mia not keeping her body temp. They had no issues feeding (bottle formula fed). The doctor was in the process of changing their caesarean to up here this wk instead of melb but the girls decided 7am sunday morning while daddy was at work would be a great time for their waters to break! The boys absolutely adore them!! They are just perfect. We got home yesterday :)
Congratulations on your two little princesses!
